Ok... Here's the deal... The recent Diablo 3 announcement got me really into Diablo 2 again... So what I did is I went into my closet and dusted off the old game and started to install it on my computer (I have the Diablo 2 Regular and Diablo 2 : Lord of Destruction genuine cd's and CD-Keys, no copies or cracks here). So I went to my computer and successfully installed Diablo 2 Regular (Full Install) with the 3 CDs that came with the box (Install Disc, Play Disc and Cinematic's Disc). And after installing it I opened the game and got all of the updates to version 1.12 I think it was. So then I got off Diablo 2 regular and then I wanted to install the Expansion (Lord of Destruction = LoD). So I put in my Diablo 2 : LoD CD and it said "Upgrade to Diablo II : Lord of Destruction (800 MB)" And I clicked it and put in my CD key for LoD... Then afterwords it said "Please insert the Diablo 2 CD labelled "Play Disc"", So I did... And after about 2 minuets or less I could hear my CD Drive slow down and the little light on it would blink allot and then it said again... "Please insert the Diablo 2 CD labelled "Play Disc"".
Now here is where I got a little confused and weirded out... So I looked at my other Diablo 2 Regular CD's and they weren't "Play Disc". Then I opened my CD drive and there it is... So I thought ("Hey why would it ask me for my play disc cd twice?"). I don't know why... But I have taken a screen shot of allot of my computer info and stuff in one. so you can check it out and tell me what you think and whether or not you can help me with this problem. And also I have a 128 Radeon 9000 Graphics Card. And my CD-RW Drive is a 52x32x52x, Which I DID get updates for. I've never had this problem before. But I also reinstalled windows XP for the first time again in 2 years about 2 weeks ago.
I don't know enough to be able to tell you a solution. I have random Windows errors and shit-outs all the time. But thankfully I had none this last go around with installing it.

Copy the music mpq over to your diablo II installation folder before installing LOD. It simply does the copying then. If it detects the play disc mpq files in your diablo II installation folder it'll skip that lil' step there.
PlugY for Diablo II allows you to reset skills and stats, transfer items between characters in singleplayer, obtain all ladder runewords and do all Uberquests while offline. It is the only way to do all of the above. Please use it.
Supporting big shoulderpads and flashy armor since 2004.
