The title of the thread pretty much says it all. List your top two favorite video game companies, list two games from each company you like, and why you like the company. I think this thread might be pretty interesting.
Here are my top two:
1. Blizzard Entertainment:
The reason Blizzard is my number one favorite video game company is because of the quality and absolute addictiveness their games have to offer, and that's something I don't have to convince anyone here into believing. All their major franchises have won numerous awards and best-seller recognition. Every one of their games in a sequel seems to improve to a level that is unimaginable while still keeping fans happy. They don't change the absolute fundamentals of the gameplay which keeps the fans and newcomers satisfied.
Top two favorite games by Blizzard:
1. Diablo
2. StarCraft
2. Valve Software
Valve made number two on my list because I respect the professionalism they use for their games. The Havok physics system they use in Half-Life 2 is amazing, and better yet, they let the players interact with vitually any object in the game with the revolutionary Gravity Gun. Better yet, Valve creates a very deep story line with the Half-Life series. Very unpredictable events, and things happen that trigger a player's own emotions. Revenge, satisfaction, and grief are to name a few of those emotions. Another quality that makes Valve outstanding is their pursuit of a more mentally challenging game. This is evident in all the Half-Life games, as well as Portal.

2. Day of Defeat

Not virtually any object. The game would be even that much better if you could pick up corpses with it and hurl them at enemies.
Well of course Valve is an extremely good company. Not only HL 2 but the other 3 parts were good enough. And yep Sianoq we can do all that with the Dark Energy Zero Gravity gun.

''May the Gods give you the strength and power to bear the madness which flows through our minds.''
''Zubin, I've always imagined you as a crazy raver. The kinda guy that spends all night dancing to trance music while waving glow sticks and popping ecstasy.'' - Murderface
The companies which publish less are usually considered good as they take much time to make a single game and thus it increases it's quality.
(Like Blizzard)

Well the people that didn't have enough money or didn't want to sell the game themselves for SFC III was taldren, and mad doc software for Star Trek Legacy.

If a moderator asks you to change your signature, don't question just do it.
Yeah. Without Ultima, there really wouldn't be MMOs like there are today. In my opinion anyway. Origin also made the Wing Commander series which had a huge impact on the video gaming industry.
Blizzard Entertainment
-Diablo II: Lord of Destruction
-Starcraft: Broodwar
Interplay Entertainment
-Baldur's Gate II
-Icewind Dale

-Humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. That is alchemy's First Law of Equivalent Exchange. In those days, we really believed that to be the world's one, and only, truth.

And by the way, the two greatest video game companies ever were Origin and Westwood.

This is because I don't know game companies. EA is good too but that's too big too count because they just publish so much.
