Well, I'm trying to find something to hold me over until D3 comes out and Hellgate looked as if it might be an option. I'm currently still playing D2:LoD but I was hoping to find something newer.
i dont have much time to play lately, but the games that kept me playing were:
1. Oblivion. Every now and then that i play i have fun and the time flows without me noticing.
2. The Witcher. Great plot and full of dialogues and decisions that have full impact on the outcome of the game. I finished it once and i'm still considering playing it again and going a different way in matter decisions.
3. Loki. Gives some of the Diablo feelings back, but the story isnt half as good. As in most games around, anyway. Action is good, though.
4. World of Warcraft. People will hate me for saying it, but its the best game i played after i quit Diablo II. Kept me playing hardcore for around 2.5 years and now i casually log on as i wait for Wrath of the Lich King to play again (never again hardcore, though). Best choice if you can afford it (both money and time wise).
I am truly dissapointed in myself for paying good money to buy this game, in all honesty.
The single player is not only boring but very glitchy.
MP can keep you busy for some time, but end result is, you dont wanna go back.
Witcher or Oblivion.
Witcher is one of my all time favourite games, the dialogue in the game is incredible, as much as making different choices that change the outcome of the game is really cool.
The game is also really long, so It will take you a while to finish it and I can garuantee you wont be dissapointed. Never heard of anyone who finished the game and didnt like it.

Return to the roots of the game to discover what D3 truly needs to be the only new-age action-RGP since D2.
It's not worth it. I was a big promoter of the game before it was officially released. I immediately purchased it when it came out. I must say it's a pretty big failure. From the sounds of it, they were really pushed to release it to get some money flowing in. It's a very unpolished, flawwed, glitchy game with very little versatile gameplay. I personally prefer static maps in games. Recognizable landscapes or areas. I don't mind the whole random map generator all too much. However, with this game there is literally only a few maps. It gets recycled over, and over, and over.
I put about 15-20 hours into Hellgate before losing all motivation to play it again. If you want to support a game by Flagship, I would go with Mythos since it has alot more potential.
I really didn't like this game. It's fun for a little while but I really regret spending money on it. If you want to see what a dark colour scheme looks like, check out this game and you'll understand why Blizzard wanted some colour.
A new Blizzard team for Diablo 3 was a good idea judging by Hellgate.
I played the beta, and thought it was one of the best games ever made. Then I went ahead and bought the full version, the day of its release. The game soon lost it's appeal and novelty and I lost $55. Like previously stated, its just not polished, I dunno what went wrong but it just ceased to be fun. Relatively boring classes, repetitive gameplay (not in a fun way like Diablo II), unbalanced classes, annoying interface and incredibly difficult to get a party going in multiplayer (at least I found). I think your money could be better spent on a different game.

Hellgate: London is an okay game, I bought it when it came out; also participated in it's alpha and beta stages, and the game had a lot of bugs then but I'm sure they've been ironed out obviously by now( atleast I hope? ); I'm not goin to stop you from trying it if you want to, buuut if you own an xbox 360 you should really look into Too Human it's coming out next month, definitely looking to shape up as a fun hack n' slash rpg with 2 player online coop.
My overall opinion on hellgate: london is don't bother, it gets way to repetitive, and ends up losing it's fun factor after an act or two. If you want an mmo(ish?) game thats decently fun, and are old enough to participate it in ( does insue some mild nudity ) you should look into age of conan. The game is definately a blast if you've got a niche for barbaric bologna.
I personally haven't played it but I've haven't been able to understand why people talk so much shit about it. From what I've read, for the most part it reviewed well. And a friend of mine (who actually introduced me to Diablo original when it came out) who is a looong time Diablo and Blizzard fan said he absolutely loves it. It's one I've been wanting to play for myself.

Long, long time Diablo fan; short, short time with DiabloFans. USEast D2 Ladder/1.13 Beta: Accnt = ChezPizmo USEast WCIII Ladder: Accnt = TeeheeSprinkles A cool, unrelated video; "Dude Bids 420 on Price is Right" ("420, Bob") "I'm nasty, I'm old and a little bit ornery; I look like Patrick Stewart and sound like Sean Connery." You could play Mass Effect, I heard the PC version is better than the 360 version.
I actually just got Mass Effect for the PC, and it is definitely one of my favourite games. Very well made and very fun, unfortunately there is no online feature, but considering how hard it is to get a party going in Hellgate: London there is still no comparison in the quality of the game. I would recommend it 100% if you don't mind the lack of multiplayer.
