    lol good question.

I think Timester and I have summed it up pretty well....

Samwise, who was involved with the game's style, and Chris Metsen who is involved with game story, are both still around.

    There you are.

Are you still contradicting my base argument? His art style has been influenced by his time spent on Warcraft. And in doing so, much of the fanbase here at this forum finds that it has tainted D3's style.

That's all. No real argument needed. The gameplay trailer is all the proof I need. And it may not just be Samwise that it has influenced, but all artists that have been working on this D3 project.

I'll agree with you on Diablo 1, but I must say, Diablo 2 is the one that takes the cake with game longevity.

Is it just me or are you giving Samwise too much credit for Diablo/Diablo 2?

I've been through all of Sons of the Storm. And I think it's already been talked about that they go through a committee, not a single artist. And yes, yes I do call that a smaller role. And considering he's been working on Warcraft art for the past 8 years, I'm very, very justified in claiming that with the way this game's art skirts the edges of Warcraft's style is due to that very fact.

I'd also like to invite you to look at Samwise's gallery. Then you can tell me how wrong I am when you compare where the majority of his time has been allocated. You can tell me I'm wrong, but I'll laugh at you. And that's okay. If you seriously still want to bleat that Warcraft style art hasn't influenced him, then I think it would be best not to respond to this comment. There's a petition talking about this very thing.

The only difference between what I'm talking about and what the petition is talking about is that I don't think it's a bad thing.

Clearly the petition isn't as large as they like to make claim, there have been several people who have stated that they are purposely signing it multiple times with the likes of bots/scripts and or normal methods of just rinse repeating with a new email.

it's a shame people would goto such lengths, I would've really liked to see how many people were against it without it being skewed by a few dishonest people.

Shame on a lot of you, I do however respect people who dont like the art, but I do not respect those who would do anything to sway the fate of the votes their way just because they don't want to lose.

This is a mirror of the Uwe Boll petition.

    These are never taken seriously.

EDIT: Comments mean nothing. Anybody can sign as many times and put in multiple comments. No validity at all.

Samwise was the art director of D1 and D2, so what the hell are you talking about?

Samwise was the art director of every single Blizzard game until today, just like Metzen was the story/lore director. On these two I trust.

    No... he wasn't.

    Diablo II Artist Team:
    Lead Character ArtistPhil Shenk
Character ArtistsJohn Kubasco, Cheeming Boey, Evan Carroll, Michael Dashow, Ben Haas, Kelly Johnson, Michio Okamura, Kris Renkewitz, Anthony Rivero, Christopher Root, Eric Sexton, Robert Steele, Patrick Tougas
Background ArtistsAlan Ackerman, Ben Boos, David Glenn, Alex Munn, Mark Sutherland, Marc Tattersall, Fredrick Vaught
Manual Design & LayoutMark E. Kern, Chris Metzen, Chris Sigaty, Peter Underwood
Manual ArtworkBen Boos, Evan Carroll, Sam Didier, Chris Metzen, Alex Munn, Phil Shenk

Sam Didier played a much smaller role on the Diablo series than he has in the Warcraft series. And I think I'm justified in saying that his work in Warcraft has influenced the style. If not a lot, at least enough to get the nuances of that style.

Yeah, I think they did that due to the fact that people didn't want to spend a lot of time being where the action was.

Blizzard North regrouped and made NCSoft from what my sources tell me.

There are no people left of that team in Blizzard. It is not surprising to me to have the art akin to that of WoW. Samwise is on the panel and has done much of the art for Diablo 3.

Yep. I know of this, and am fond of the way D2 handled things. Just I never came across the expression "reroll". It seems it might be useful when battling respecs.

    It's okay, no problem.

posted a message on Diablo III Races
I was wondering what the Diablo III community thought about the possibility of Blizzard adding different races to choose from so the player is not forced to play as humans solely.

I'm curious myself, actually, to see how this would tie into lore. It is obvious that humans are not the only cogniscient beings in Sanctuary, so adding different races wouldn't divert the game from its path.

Is everybody comfortable with sticking with humans? Or do you think alternate races would be acceptable, if not desired.

If so, what races do you think would be good additions?
