Feb 16, 2012Puttah posted a message on Patch 13 Before Weekend, Character Wipe IncludedI don't wanna bring down the party, but I have a feeling that there will still be another major patch after this one which revolves around the AH. Not only will they fix the bugs it has, but I reckon they'll probably change its UI as well.Posted in: News

No, I don't really care.Quote from SiaynoqI haven't been following any of the news on D3. You got a problem with that?
NoQuote from SiaynoqAnd you wanna know why?
I completely understand your position, but what dumbfounds me is that some people that are in fact curious about D3's development, have gone ahead and asked Bashiok about it instead of reading up on it. It just looks embarrassing, and would get flamed to hell if it was at the Blizzcon Q&A or anything of that magnitude.Quote from SiaynoqAny why follow the news that closely when it's just more of being jerked around and them scrapping this, revising that, adding some of this. Get real.
For example,
How does crafting work?
It's a bit complex to describe in 140 characters. You already read the artisan section on the website?
I see a direct comparison whereas you don't, oh well swing and a miss I guess.Quote from SiaynoqAnd it's nothing like going up to your professor at the last minute and asking him to explain everything to you from the beginning. I'm all for useless analogies but yours was just the worst. -

Oh hey there guy, I haven't paid any attention to Diablo's progress for the passed year now, care to fill me in on what's changed?
Go fucking read the news on it, sheesh...
Honestly, it's like your exams are nearing, and you decide to go up to the professor to ask him to start explaining everything to you from the beginning. -
Jan 30, 2012Puttah posted a message on Diablo 3 Test Server Maintenance - Beta Patch 11 IncomingWhy do you guys prefer windowed mode? My computer is getting pretty old, but when I turn down all the graphics options to lowest coupled with the smallest resolution possible, it runs smoothly. But when I tried running in fullscreen windowed mode as opposed to just the regular fullscreen mode, it becomes choppy again.Posted in: News
What other reasons are there to use windowed over fullscreen other than quick and easy alt-tabbing? And maybe crashes for some reason...? -

Yeah PST really bothers me because I'm always used to using GMT, so just then I added another clock on my pc to follow PST specifically. It should help I think...
Still annoying as shit though to have something announced to be released a certain day and then we have to wait till the day after.
Quote from Wetwlly
Changes to Barbarian and Wizard.
Everything about Mystics is now gone.
Some Shrine stuff taken out.
Resource Globes seem to have a animation change possibly.
Lots of Affixes taken out/changed.
They added a new Arena level which Beta Users wont see..
That's all I can see right now
Where do you see this? -
Jan 17, 2012Puttah posted a message on 10 Character Limit, Runed Way of the Hundred Fists, Poll, ScreenshotsPosted in: News
Ok well that does answer one half of a point. The gear itself will take up valuable space regardless, and there is no answer to this other than the expected "who will have more than 1 of each class for sc/hc?".Quote from Molsterthey want to add a rune inventory system, (with the old system that is)
I see what you're saying, but don't you think the chosen number of 10 is just a little extreme? It's not equivalent to 20 because of how many characters exist as well as the sc/hc modes. If there were 2-3 characters, then yes 10 would be enough, but with 5 characters and 2 play modes, that's already 10 right there. There is no room on top of that.Quote from Greenjoke
10 is plenty. If someone truly needs to lvl a character over and over and over to feel fulfilled in life then just designate a character slot for leveling characters that will get deleted or sold.
It's not like you would ever get 100s of character slots, so there's going to be a limit regardless. You'd have to delete characters anyways. You can just as easily do that with 10 as you could 15 or 20.
Please don't try to argue that you need 20 or 30 or whatever of the same lvl 60 class. You would never play most of them. They would just sit there.
If you managed to max out (or are even working on) all the characters in each sc and hc mode, then a mate of yours joins the game and you want to play with him - you're telling me that the only way to do this is to delete one of your characters? If the limit was 15 or 20 then at least you have room to move around.
Congratulations, you've just managed to strengthen lMarcusl's point that you don't know what you're talking about.Quote from WishedHeHadBetai do understand why people remake characters. because they have no life and feel the need to repeat exact content over and over and over to avoid the real world. lolol
I doubt it. I'm sure they've already read the threads that give valid reasons why 10 is just too small a limit, and they haven't raised the cap because of that.Quote from greatmars
i think it is too early to think about character slots, and i am sure if blizzard found that people used all there slots and still need more, they will increase the cap.
Finally, 10 per region while useful for those that will be jumping between regions, what about those that will be sticking to one region but do want to have multiple builds per character, or at least the flexibility to create more than 10 for the reasons I've already stated?
And I can't really see anyone playing D3 seriously in a distant region that would give them horrible latency. 10 per region is just a cop-out in my opinion. -
Jan 17, 2012Puttah posted a message on 10 Character Limit, Runed Way of the Hundred Fists, Poll, ScreenshotsIt's already been pretty much mentioned but quite a few people will want multiple builds per class, and simply using the respec system won't suffice. Either you'll want to play through the game with your new build, or you won't want to keep a full set of alternate runes and gear in the inventory of one of your characters that you'll need to swap whenever you feel like changing your build up. PvP verse PvE build anyone?Posted in: News
This swapping of items and runes each time isn't just a nuisance in my eyes, but it will also take up a good chunk of your inventory. -
Jan 6, 2012Puttah posted a message on Runed Grenades, SK Rating, Class Balance, Level Expansion, Followers, Blue PostsThe golden rune effect looks too similar to the plain grenades, which in itself isn't a problem but it would be very hard to distinguish between someone using no rune or a golden rune. And as for the crimson rune, I expected more out of the poison...Posted in: News
I like Blizzard's answer to PvP balance though, it's way better than "this is meant to be a PvE game so we won't bother with PvP balance". -

But it's probably just the anxiousness in me talking. -

Nov 27, 2011Puttah posted a message on Diablo 3 Jeweler PreviewBecause characters can now be sold, so +exp to rush characters to the max level is an obvious choice. And also +gold is a consistent income while +magic find is a gamble. Sure, there is potentially more loot to be had, but there is also the potential that getting double the gold would pay off faster.Posted in: News

Like seriously, people will be getting mad or crying noob when a player in a pub game doesn't have an mf set on switch. It'll become customary to swap into mf gear after every single elite and boss fight.
Are you guys kidding me? Honestly.

That's why I created a macro to do it for me, because it's tedious and not fun at all.
Option 4 please.

Instead, they decide to not use the sign altogether (without warning) and announce it in their newsletter that you never read - I mean, why would you? You have a sign right there that should be telling you all you need to know about the construction schedules.

And I find it stupid and ruins the flow of the game. I'm glad Blizz is going to do something about this..

What's the point in comparing newbs to veterans? Wouldn't it make more sense to be comparing two players of roughly equal skill and time invested in the game?
And then my point stands - for two players that are roughly equally skilled in gaming, if one were to spend their time farming for gear while the other bought their gear outright and spent their time PvP'ing instead, the PVPer will clearly have an advantage.
Twisting this basic fact around by claiming that the farmer will have spent much time playing the game while the buyer is new to the game is like comparing apples with oranges.

lol ok.

And no, not because I care if the troll ranting in general chat is decked out in bought gear, but because of how it's a much more convenient and time saving approach to getting what you want.
It's been mentioned even in this thread that some people get their fun out of buying gear, while others get the fun out of playing the game.
Well, what I find fun (and I'm sure many others do too because this is what drives many of us to farm) is to become rich in the game. You want all those pretty items, but they're always so far out of reach - so you spend hours upon hours farming, searching for deals on the AH, and playing as optimally as you can afford to muster.
But then the RMAH comes along and tempts you into buying millions of gold for less than an hour's worth of your job's pay.
And please don't tell me that buying that gold for money was an option even in D2. In D2 you had to go out of your way to find a site, you had to trust your credit card info with them, and then run the risk of being scammed or worse.
The RMAH makes it easy and affordable, and goes against the spirit of games. I sincerely hope it crashes and burns, just so other gaming companies in the future don't start copying Blizzard on this endeavour.
