We still have no idea what changes un-attuned runes will bring. The variety of extra runes that un-attuned runes have is immense. There could well possibly be more than one un-attuned rune that just alters the functionality of the hydra while keeping to its original appearance.

What are you on about? un-attuned rune changes? What?

An un-attuned rune is an un-attuned rune, it doesn't do anything at all, before u socket it and become tuned.

    For the record to everybody..

ALL skills have a minimum of 1 runechange effect, that will NOT alter the original effect, only boost the dmg, manacost or whatever...

So yes, you will have an option never to change your original skill with runes, just boost stats.. which is good.

Its really not that hard to understand. Un-attuned runes provide random stats right? If so, there is that potential to acquire an un-attuned rune that once it is socketed into a skill provides stats that changed the functionality of the skill while keeping its original look. Was that so hard to understand?

...from what i've seen, and the way that i like to do my first playthrough, i say that i would finish the beta in more than 4 hours... so, yes. the average is from 15 mins. to 4 hours...

    Right with ya mate. =)

I have a few questions that may have already been answered, but I would like them from more perspectives...

    1. I have not played the beta.. But I have read that it takes approx. 14 minutes to 1 hour. Rushing (dont give a crap about the urns) and explorer + curious mode (urns dont survive).

    2. Its fast paced, I agree. I dont know if this is just so you can use a lot of skills in the Beta. Im not sure. Building up to a cap will be slower later on, and stating that lvl 13 is like lvl 13 in D2 is not acurrate. Experience is dealt diffrently.

    3. Beta is very small, but thats the point, to ease you into the world of Diablo. Do not fear, they said it was gonna be as big as Diablo 2, but later on stated that there was probably MORE contant, bigger areas and such then Diablo 2.

And 2-3 times bigger areas is something I will see later on in the game!

Thanks for the responses. However, I'm not sure your correct on the first question. The fastest time is around 14 mins, but talesoflumin has one beta play-through of his monk going for around 3 hours and 50 minutes. So on average I would say beta can vary between 15 minutes to 4 hours lol.

I have a few questions that may have already been answered, but I would like them from more perspectives...

    1. (This is a question to everyone who has played through the beta) How long on average does it take for you to play through the entire beta? I want to know the longest and shortest times depending on gameplay style (eg: rushing/exploring).

    2. Do you believe character progression is to fast? For example do the classes level to quickly and acquire new skills to quickly? (From what I have seen of play-throughs, it seems classes level just as fast as Diablo 2, however, there are only 60 levels instead of 99... so yeah it does seem a little fast for me)

    3. What do you think of the scale of the beta thus far? What I mean is in Diablo 2 the map sizes felt pretty decently large, from what i've seen of the beta, each map feels very linear and small... it doesn't feel like you are playing in the world of Sanctuary but instead a very confined area.

Thats it so far... Thanks! =)

PS: You might have guessed that all my questions are to do with the size of the game... I'm just worried that it isn't long enough... I mean over 5 years of game production... so far I'm not too impressed with only the size aspect of the game. To me each area should be 2 - 3 times bigger than they currently are.

Looks like it might just be a theme for a specific dungeon or something. But I wouldn't mind be able to mine your own gems, be pretty cool. =)

I've posted here before a long time ago, but had to create a new account as this whole merge old account with this curse BS isn't working.

I'm not here to troll but can someone answer me why blizz can't release an open beta? I mean they announce the thing in 2008, release a closed beta in 2011 with a release at least 5 to 6 months away! Another highly anticipated game I'm waiting on is Battlefield 3, they know how to do things right, they announce the game roughly a year ago? And then bam open beta starts tomorrow with a release next month, surely Activision/Blizzard can get their shit together like EA/DICE.

All I can say is... Yes it is quite disappointing to have to wait soo long for a game that in all seriousness would be expected to look a hell of a lot better than it does atm with the amount of time it has been in development for (not saying I don't love it!!! Just expected well... more).

But all we can do is hope. =)

Hey Force I am REALLY liking the exploration video. I just watched your first (Ladybarb) one, I want more. Finally someone who isn't just rushing through the beta and missing all the little exciting bits in the corners of the maps.

    Thank You!!!

PS: When is the next one going to be up?

I am very confused about there being an items page. I thought all the loot and items stats and traits were randomly generated besides uniques and/or rares. Can someone clarify this?
thats why the only thing it shows is uniques and crafted items (when it comes to gear). under the normal items, they even have a note saying all these items can appear as magic/rare.

So there isn't a set limit of items, there are endless types of items you could acquire? Thanks. =)

I think this concept is a POS. I have no problem with runes being locked to skills, but you should beable to know what the rune is, before placing it into a skill, it shouldn't be a gamble.

Blizzard WTF are you doing, by all means fire the moron who thought this would be a good idea.

Sigh, just to find out we got a crappy rune, we need to socket it, on top of that, I think It's pretty safe to assume, we can't sell said crappy rune once it got socketed.

Don't the original runes still have the potential drop? I like the idea of un-attuned runes, it allows our skills and character to actually have some personal identity. Blizzard is giving us our customisation back and its what we all wanted to have. Having the additional bonus of dropping the original runes just makes this even better! =)

Yes please give us instructions (preferably a step by step guide) on how to get it and make it work. (For us not so tech savy guys). =)

Also how will the HTC Legend handle it?

[Off topic, is there any way for me to get Dungeon Hunter 2 on my HTC Legend?]

    Please and Thank You. =)

It was completely useless before due to it not scaling with weapon damage. It did about 2-3 damage when you first got it. However, now, they increased the damage significantly and scales off of weapon damage AND increased its slow. Now its supposed to be a "crap a bunch of stuff is around me *Fan of Knives and vault away*" type thing. At least, thats how I imagine it. I may put it on my skill set up in its new incarnation.

I guess so. I think i'm just still pissed about all these freaking cool-downs still lol. But 10 seconds... come on. Every type of rpg game I have ever played, cool-downs averaged between 1-5 seconds. Diablo 3 is supposed to be a fast paced action game where you absolutely obliterate large mobs around you and fly through them. If they are going to add cool downs they shouldn't at least be longer than 10 seconds. Fan of knives which i thought to be a spammable skill is now going to be incredibly dull for my play-style. I'm just so worried at what else blizzard decides to give cool-downs to, we already have a bunch of freaking 30 second cool-downs. =(
