What the hell man. You do not attack defenseless animals. Their dogs did nothing, so they shouldn't be attacked. The people responsible should be. I wouldn't want my pets around you.

    Quote from Snaks42

Agreed, don't fuck with animals just for fun / retaliation. People who do that sicken me. At this point I advise what I wrote earlier.

    Quote from Moxx

what the fuck dude, their pets are innocent for fucks sake. if he does that hes as big of a moron as them. you have zero logic

I love how you all jumped on the dog thing, but nobody complained about BB gunning kids. I was trolling anyways, I wouldn't hurt their dogs. The BB gun idea does sound good though.

What can I say, I love animals. Kids however, even humans, we know better. So I don't give a shit, fucking BB gun them all ya want. =)

    Quote from Lt. Venom

If I caught somebody doing that to any animal, never mind a pet of mine, I would not hesitate to permanently cripple them.

Or better yet, let's see if the bastards can do same thing to an animal that isn't helpless, lets say an animal such as damn mountain lion or a black bear, or an African bull elephant. Yeah I didn't think so. Or even crows for that matter. Attack one and the whole damn flock will murder your ass. Or the most fearless animal on the planet, the honey badger.

Mate, you speak my language!!! =)

posted a message on Demon Hunter Updated!!!
Ok, I haven't really looked at these changes but I need some clarification. So Fan of Knives now has a 10 second cool down. Does this mean that their is one less skill the Demon Hunter has. To me a close range, mid-damage, aoe attack for the Demon Hunter was pretty useless to begin with, but now with the 10 second cool down, it can't even be used anymore?

How can it still be effective?

I'd say that's the most human-y reaction possible. My advice? Don't hurt them, hurt their dog/pet and make them watch. That should feel good enough.

Or shoot them with BB guns! That's shouldn't cause any major injuries and it would be fun as hell.

BTW, an autopsy on an animal is called a necropsy.

What the hell man. You do not attack defenseless animals. Their dogs did nothing, so they shouldn't be attacked. The people responsible should be. I wouldn't want my pets around you.

Blizzard did announce Q3 right? I imagined right from the beginning of this announcement that the beta won't be released any time before 30th of September, and I still stick with that. =)

Too me, I don't mind 4 difficulties at all. However, I think its just lazy on Blizzards side. Recycling the game rather than adding more content.

posted a message on Length concern (semi-spoiler)
From my guesstimates and known information of Blizzard saying that the game will get shorter as you get closer to the end.

1/3 of Act 1 which is the beta (correct me if I am wrong - I hope it is only 1/4) Takes approximately 2-4 hours.

    So from pure mathematical calculations:

    Act 1 will take 3 x 2-4 hours = 9 - 12 hours

Seeing as consecutive acts are assumed to be shorter; Act 2 will take 8 - 10 hours

    Act 3 = 6 - 8 hours

    Act 4 = 4 - 6 hours

Which adds up to be around 27 - 36 hours of total game length through normal difficulty. (I really hope this is the case!!)

So if these basic calculations are correct, Diablo 3 will have a very satisfying game length. I know that I will be exploring everywhere and definitely taking my time to experience every little detail. So Diablo 3 should take me toward the longer play time hehe. =)

Anyone else like to share what they think?

I'm glad to see the crosses go, the Diabo-verse did not feel like priests fighting the devil to me.

I don't see room for Jesus in the Diablo universe, or any God.
If there is no Jesus, there will be no crosses (except for ones legitimately being used for crucifixion).

Diablo is not the devil, he is a giant fire-breathing dinosaur, a prime evil, one of many prime evils.

I bet the reasoning is less "lets try not to upset the Christians, they might forbid the game from being sold" and more "now that we have our own story, our own universe, we do not need generic references to Earthen culture, we can make our own cultures with their own unique symbols and icons."

I agree with what you have said. But I just need to point out that crucifixion is related to Christianity and therefore, is also inappropriate for the Diablo universe.

For me, if Diablo 3 took only a day to go through hell difficulty from act 1 to 4... That my friend would absolutely suck hairy monkey balls!

I want this game on normal difficulty to last me, from act 1 - 4, at LEAST one week. I've been waiting sooooo long for this game, I want it to take me more than 4-6 hours to complete even normal difficulty before I do the whole thing again on Nightmare.

I don't know about anyone else, but 10+ years on making a game, only to have the story of the game last around 4 hours would be horrible!!!

Diablo 2 took me around a week and a half to get through normal difficulty alone. I hope Diablo 3 takes significantly longer than this. =)

I 100% agree with you, but you have to consider, however, that after you leveled up one or two, or maybe 3 characters the whole process is just going to be so incredibly tedious.

I picked up median XL, one of the best d2 mods and played it through. Despite having completely new skill trees, monster ai, monster count, type etc after playing through a couple times it just started being boring as hell.

Now that we will be playing through the game at least 3 times per character, and the end game will basically be a more difficult version of leveling content we'll be playing through the entire time we're not in "end game", don't you think that is just as *almost* as tedious as repeatedly farming bosses you've already killed 3 times over and over?

I ended up cutting every possible corner playing the game (and the original game) after a while because it got old and all I wanted to do was fool around with the new skills.

Once I had done that, and beaten all the content, there was nothing left to do on MXL and in the original game all I did was pvp, which ended up being trashy compared to the pvp Blizzard experimented with in wow.

True. However, you have mentioned the solution (kinda). We will be able to skip as much as possible when we eventually get bored of the content. =)

Also, they will be implemented new content. I also hope they improve the older content so it gives players incentive to run through Acts 1 - 4 even more times. =)

    Quote from Eskanasi

My hopes are your hopes. I hope it lasts me a long time just to get through the initial playthrough. But at the same time doesn't grow stale or a chore to play through on higher difficulties or with new characters.

With that in mind... considering 5 characters and 3 difficulty walkthroughs... 15-20 hours for a complete walkthrough sounds good only if I can play through it much faster if I want.

Exactly. I would guess though that once you had your feel with around 15-20 hours of gameplay through normal difficulty and know everything their is to know. Than with new characters and what not, it shouldn't be hard to run through each difficulty in shorter amounts of time.

    posted a message on Story/Gameplay Length of Diablo 3 (1 Play-through)
Hey all, I just wanted to start a bit of a discussion on how long you think Diablo 3 should be on completing one play-through of normal difficulty.

For me, I have been waiting soooooo long for this game, so if an entire play-through of normal difficulty, exploring everywhere there possibly is; takes less than 10 hours. Well I will be very very disappointed!

I will definitely play this game from normal difficulty all the way to inferno difficulty with every single character. However, I am a person that really likes to enjoy my games with a nice steady pace, looking at everything there is, experiencing every nook and cranny.

Diablo 2 LOD took me around a week and a half to complete normal difficulty (probably around 15 hours of gameplay), playing how I mentioned above. I really hope Diablo 3 will take me AT LEAST the same amount of time to do the same thing. I would prefer double the time though. I mean, I just want to experience this game in its entirety before starting again on Nightmare difficulty.

What is your opinion about gameplay length?

I'll probably get flamed for this, but in my opinion Inferno shouldn't drop any gear. You should make do with the gear you got from Hell and there should be several achievements throughout Inferno so other people could see how far you've come with a certain character through Inferno so there's some prestige to it.

Maybe Inferno could drop gems and runes and all that, but no armor, weapons, etc.

I doubt Blizz will make it like this though.

no i get what your saying completely, but how does making it drop those things and give achievements, but no gear make it so much different?
I think what they're trying to do with the Inferno level, is make the playthrough so long with a character, that once people beat Hell they can't resist to move on to Inferno and this level will be so long and difficult that it'll take many moons to complete. It's only grinding if people go through an area again and again. I'm sure you wouldn't go through Inferno areas twice since the risk of dying lies just around the next corner.

Or maybe we should just get used to the fact that grinding is part of the Diablo franchise. People can do what they want as far as I'm concerned. If they think going through the same area again and again is fun then so be it. But with Inferno, I think we'll see far less grinding in Hell.

true, why grind in hell when inferno has 10x better drops. and also i don't think it'll take "many moons" especially if its solo able, if you can go through hell act 1-act 4 in practically a day, i doubt inferno would take more then a few days or week max to beat it then you'll just do whatever parts you enjoyed the most (or just the whole thing again) to get the absolute best gear possible. so grinding is inevitable, in fact jay wilson said the point of inferno was for grinding, but making it hard throughout so theres just more stuff to grind so your not repeating the same boss 1000x times, your repeating the entire game.

For me, if Diablo 3 took only a day to go through hell difficulty from act 1 to 4... That my friend would absolutely suck hairy monkey balls!

posted a message on When Do you think D3 is going to be out!!!
If the beta were to start late August - early September, it will go for 2 months and end sometime in early - mid November.

From this, I hypothesize that Diablo 3 will be released either late November or early December. =) For a more specific answer, I'd say: 25th November - 10th December.

You seem decided on the Radeon line of video cards. Otherwise I'd recommend an nvidia GTX 460 or 550. I can't believe how cheap the 550 series is right now.

But, your PCI slot is a 2.1?

    Aren't the x16 slots just 2.0?

I would not have a clue. Why do you ask?

So GTX 550 is better than Radeon HD 6770? How so?

PS: I know it sounds like I am questioning you in a negative way, but I'm not really, its hard to get my expressions across through typing, so don't think that I am being a dick or anything. I am being sincere. =)
