Dropz posted a message on Diablo 4 releasing next yearPosted in: Diablo IV: Return to Darkness
After reading the new quartly update I think we "might" see an alpha end of next year?
And a beta a year later. So my feelings/guesses tells me it will take 2\3 years before we see a public beta or release.
Especially when they said "not soon, not even blizzard soon" at the last Blizzcon.
The reason why im guessing it will take 2\3 years is because in the post you can read that they only finished like 1 zone\act? Let alone all the other maps, mobs, items etc etc.
You said this same thing in both threads and it clearly shows you didnt read the OP. haha. its in the first paragraph. Them saying that means nothing. They also mention multiple times how what theyve shown the pulic isnt close to what they have finished.
Dude, again, just because you wrote it in the OP does not make it the truth in anyway. You saying that it means nothing, does not mean that it means nothing. You cannot have a discussion about this if you keep claiming your own ideas to be the absolut truth - thats not how this works.

Skelos_bg posted a message on June Development update is live! Team testing playthroughs already.Posted in: Diablo IV: Return to Darkness2022 is late for Diablo 4 release. Its engine isn't that good to face the potential new aRPGs being developed atm. If they delay D4 to 2022 they'll make a mistake. No matter in what state the game is, it has to drop next year or they risk getting smashed by better games and lose a big portion of the player base they aim to get.
The truth is Diablo 4 is a great game for 2020, but it would be mediocre in 2022 since the games market is so dynamic. Diablo 4 has to capitalize on what it is in 2021. That's my personal opinion.

Jin3K posted a message on Diablo 2 Resurrected RIPPosted in: Diablo III General DiscussionUelmen, Diablo's original composer, also gave his perspective on the potential remaster; "My only strong opinion is that it needs to have more violence, more gore, and more nakedness. Long as they do that, then they'll be true to the series, in terms of what we were going for, as artists."
At that, Schaefer added, "Yeah, I'm going to agree with that. The game was made to be shocking and push boundaries and when you have an opportunity to remake it with modern graphics, you're going to be confronted very quickly with how much are you really going to want to reproduce something that was down to a few pixels in the original version, and not succumb to the temptation to make a censored version."
"We're talking about modern Blizzard right now, and they have shareholders and things like that, that we didn't have to worry about back in the day," Shaefer laughed before continuing, "I'm curious as to what their approach is gonna be."

WHHB posted a message on Why do people always say Diablo 3 was a failure?Posted in: Diablo III General DiscussionD3 wasn't a failure by anyone's standards. It sold like what, 30 million copies with the expansions combined? D2 only sold 4 million to date. D3 WAS fun. i loved it when it first came out. But i played D2 for 5-6 years before getting bored, i only played D3 for barley 5-6 months before becoming much more bored than i was of D2, i even went back to D2 for a little bit. D3 just didn't have the same community feel as D2 had. And with the lack of pvp, a lot of people bought it, but quit shortly after. We came back for the expansion, but again, for only a few months. And seasons? less than 2 weeks into each season until its boring again.
I have a lot higher hopes for D4 based on what we've seen. Back to the D2 feel, with major improvements. I had no complaints about wanting D3 to make me feel 12 or be completely blown away again. I had specific complaints like the soft/glowy graphics, end-game content, how crafting/trading worked, no pvp ect. But i agree D3 was/is a great game and anyone calling it a failure is just butthurt.

RolandXkalib posted a message on Why do people always say Diablo 3 was a failure?Posted in: Diablo III General DiscussionIt is only seen as a failure by time-frozen D2 fan boys, and PoE players. For the people that actually play it, D3 is a very successful game. I bet after D4 comes out, there will be people who finally appreciate D3 for what it is.

Im pretty sure most people will be dissapointed with early D4, let me clarify; Just like d3 the game will be built around buying the expantions These guys are money makers and will build their game around making money. ( Skins, expantions mostly ) And if u blieve that d4 will compete with poe 2 its not the case im sorry it will never be. best thing you can do in that case is play PoE 2 for more content and more D2 Vibe in the future.
D4 will basically be D3 (2.0 ) all over again maybe with a little more but i wouldnt say compete with PoE 2 in anyway its way too casual without too much depth compared to poe 2
let me show you something. the views on the diablo 4 gameplay have arrived 5.5 milions. Poe 2 is to 2 milion. you understand for yourself what people are looking for on the web right now. diablo 4 is not a diablo 3 2.0. starting from the skill tree and mmo elements. your analysis is based on marketing speculation
Path of Exile has always been a decent game. But in my opinion it only ever did as well as it did because first, it held people over until D3, and then when D3 disappointed everyone they went back to PoE. Once D4 comes out it'll destroy the PoE 1 & 2 player base since it'll have everything D3 didn't have. They better release PoE 2 ASAP before D4.

Skelos_bg posted a message on Diablo 4 releasing next yearPosted in: Diablo IV: Return to DarknessYes, my current prediction (influenced by the covid-19 pandemic) is the same. What we saw at Blizzcon 2019 showed a game in a very good state. At Blizzcon 2021 they would probably announce the open beta of Diablo 4 and a release will follow in late 2021.
The aRPG genre is getting more popular with each and every day, and some other top studios are about to release their games in 2022, so Blizzard hitting the late 2021 is crucial for developing a strong player base and protecting its position on the market.

Magistrate posted a message on Activision Blizzard has several more remakes and remasters planned for 2020Posted in: General Discussion (non-Diablo)Quote from Demolition 13»
Why would anyone at Blizzard think it was a good idea to do anything with D2 while they have D4 underway? Even if it was possible? (It's not).'Hey, I know we're spending a lot of time and money on making the best D4 we can, but let's simultaneously distract ourselves and the fans from that work and siphon away some of our customer base for D4 by releasing a remastered D2!" "Genius! Here's a huge bonus for you!" Come on, it's like Apple working on the Iphone 12, but there's a hardcore group who just loved and old phone made by another manufacturer, so they're going to rehash a version of it just for them. Not gonna happen.
It could be argued that it's important to look at their products in terms of IPs and not individual installations. For instance, the Warcraft IP making money off a WoW expansion, WC3R (lol), a movie, microtransactions, swag/toys, etc., is all a win. All of it represents either an increase or a continuation of maintaining capital for them as a company.
Investors may or may not see it that way. They might want an individual thing to excel as well as it possibly can. But in the long term, I think this is also something that is considered at quarterly calls because it's more indicative of longterm success. Box sales are just a blip on the radar--if you base all your success on them, you'll just be chasing temporary highs.
This is why I argue BlizzCon and maintaining Blizzard IPs as a lifetime fan/family identity is more important than just selling the next big thing.
Another thing could be argued--I don't think a D2 remaster would ever have the staying power to upset the multi-million dollar box sales of a major new installment. If Blizzard did it, much like the SC remaster, it would probably be either a labor of love or just for existing fans. I don't think any of their remasters have turned huge quarterly profits on the scale of a major release.
