Not likely, since they're both owned by the same parent company, and have been rolled together in the same subsidiary by that parent company.Quote from CataleptInteresting, though, that Activision made an operating loss this quarter, while Blizzard is still chugging along in the black. Wouldn't surprise me if they cut themselves loose soon... they've got their own distribution channel now, they can't be getting much benefit from the relationship.

I don't care if there are panda sigils. I would care though if they made me buy MoP CE to get D3 wings. It's a relief to hear they're probably not related.
There's stuff in WoW from SC2 that you had to go to Blizzcon for, so...it's just marketing. -

This is just reminding you that there are going to be heaps of people who do struggle with Normal difficulty. Don't assume that everyone is in their mid 20-30s and has played all kinds of games for the last 10-20 years of their life. There will be people who breeze through normal in 30 minutes (maybe?), then people who will literally take weeks. Nothing contradictory there.
There will be people who find Skeleton King challenging. I didn't, but, I played D1 and D2 a LOT, not to mention the last 7 years of MMO raiding. I can move and react, though I'm no twitch FPS player. I think about what skills will work best in a situation etc.
Some people here react to the fact that it's made for people other than themselves by saying "Well, those people need to get better or not play, because I want difficulty set for ME!!" That's not an answer Blizzard is going to listen to. They want to sell the game to everyone, not just *you*, whoever you and your friends are. It just varies how far into the game you'll go before finding it difficult. Some in Normal, some in Inferno, lots in between somewhere.
Also, some don't find 'horribly difficult' fun, and may play for years in Normal. I know people who almost never left Normal in D2. They found it fun. You might not, but that's ok. - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.

1) They could do the WoW way, with all the auctions, you wanted, but you lose a deposit if it doesn't sell, or you cancel
2) or the way they have now, no deposits, so no cost to you if it doesn't sell, but, limited # of auctions.
So, be careful what you ask for. If you want to lose a deposit every time you cancel or it doesn't sell, then you can have more slots.

I also found it funny that while this population of people popped up wanting refunds. the internet cafe seats devoted to D3 went from (if I remember right) 16% to 40%. So it was definitely a minority population that wanted the refund.
So, while this happened, it wasn't like 'most' or anything more than a very small group wanted the refunds. They just made a lot of noise about it, and the government isn't happy with Blizzard keeping the broadcast rights to SC2 anyway.

(Level 40 or below for refunds.)

'nuff said.

I guess I could have said 'subscription' or 'pay-to-play' MMOs.
Regardless, it just means that some people aren't in the intended audience that Blizzard built the game around. If you're not part of who they built it for, might as well move on. It's just that those people leaving isn't going to 'kill' anything. There's still tons of happy WoW players, and lots of others who have quit for whatever reason. Regardless, there's plenty of people there to make the game healthy. D3 will be the same, imo.

And that's the key. Good players adapt. The rest...do something else.

Hopefully it won't happen to anyone else. There was a bug fixed in 1.0.3 related to trading at higher latency.

It's in 1.0.3's patch notes that they fixed a bug with the trade window. So the above bug is fixed. Sad that he lost gold, but...it was only gold. If he's in Inferno, he'll get that back quickly.
D3 has far less bugs and stuff in it at launch than D2 ever did. Are you a programmer? I mean, one who does it for a living? If not, then you have no idea...

I guess I associate Diablo with "don't trust anyone you don't know" from D2 days with all the hacks/cheats/etc.
WoW trading isn't the same thing at all.

I have no sympathy for the OP. Take responsibility for your own actions. Research your $150 purchase before doing it.

Probably just haven't bothered to change what they're posting under, since it's the same bnet account.

Well, I don't fit that at all. I'm not complaining, and I played WoW, but, I played D1/D2 before I ever heard of WoW, too.
I don't really play WoW anymore, not because 'they ruined it' or anything, just...I've played it too much. I play Rift when I have the MMO itch, and D3 is something I've been waiting for years to see.
Many of the complainers are the people who think that every game that's not designed specifically around what they want, and any game that doesn't give them advantages because they are *just that awesome*...is wrong. Many of these same people pollute the WoW forums with QQ, too, of course, so that would fit with what you said.
As someone else pointed out, though, the *absolute worst community* I've ever dealt with is the FPS community. We see some leakage from there into D3 and into WoW, and a lot of those, are the people that expected to clear Inferno in the first week, and when they couldn't...then it was the game's fault, and it was wrong, etc.
Blizzard knows who they're aiming to please. If you're not in that demographic, you may get a bone thrown to you, and/or you may get ignored. Doesn't mean they're wrong, just means your wants aren't on their list. It's a business.

Actually, I've gotten more rares from chests after patch than before. I'm thinking they buffed up their rare chance a bit, since MF no longer applies to them. So, if you always opened them with MF on, then yeah, they'll drop less.
