    Lol. When you said Tesla, the first thing that came to mind was Teslacoil. Like the one from Red Alert.

    Yes anyone can make them up. But it seems it takes a master to be able to keep them going, was more my point.

    People often show a lot of interest in the beginning, it goes well for a while then it just stops. Which sucks.

    posted a message on Diablo Custom Campaigns for use in Other Games
    Anyone out there have Neverwinter Nights? Came across this custom made campaign that tries to put the first Diablo game into the Aurora Engine used in NWN.

    I tried downloading this thing before but could seem to get the damned thing to work.

    There was some patchy thing I could seem to get to work, but it sounds like fun might give it another go some time.

    http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view=Modules.Detail&id=3713&comment_page=11

    If someone firgures it out could you post how you did it in this thread.

    I totally want to try it out.

    http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view=Modules.Detail&id=3713

    This one should be an updated version I think or at least a easier one to use.

    Also found this one of Act I of Diablo for use in Warcraft III (WOnder if someone has made the other acts? or what parts of them they can with the Warcraft III Editor)
    http://www.gamespot.com/pc/strategy/warcraft3reignofchaos/download.html?sid=6082734

    Or this one based on the Chamber of Bone from Diablo I, also for use in Warcraft III
    http://www.gamespot.com/pc/strategy/warcraft3reignofchaos/download.html?sid=6082714

    These two do however require a Gamespot account.

    posted a message on Blizzard's overnerfing problem
    WOW got nerfed yes, but there is stuff I still can't solo. 3 man and above group quests. I can't solo those on my warrior.

    But I do agree somethings got nerfed. Made easier.

    Unless your an OP Pally or DK this haven't changed that much for a lot of people.

    If something is damn near impossible to beat or just not fun to do, I am fine with Blizzard changing it to make it more doable or more fun.

    But I take issue with nerfing it so bad you can stroll up undergeared and spam a semi useful skill and beat the quest, then yeah that's a problem. If they make it easier and you are still there fully geared throughing everything you have at it, that is fine by me.

    posted a message on Hell setting is hard
    SIngle player Hell mode is beyond what is reasonably considered to be hard. double and yes even triple immunities.

    Fire Immune, Cold Immune, Extra Strong Extra Fast, Magist Resist Aura Enchanted. Yes Ive seen creature with all of those abilities at the same time. A Sorceress cannot do any damage to it at all.

    I like a challenge. But one I can do. That shit above is just insane. If you sit there spamming the one attack that does the tiniest bit of damage you will die because it will take to long. In case you havent guess the only attack that works is a hand full of Lightning skills. Yeah the 1-500 (or whatever) Damage ones. Not the good Lightning spell, thunderstorm I think it is which has a higher minimum damage.

    Diablo on Hell mode has what 110,000 odd HP in Hell mode. You try standing there doing only a couple of hundred points of damage, you won't last long.

    But then that's just one example and it doesn't come up very often. Most of the time you just get Fire/cold immune. but even that is a nightmare for the Sorceress.

    I've finished Hell mode but that was with a Druid, Barbarian, Necromancer. I've only got to Act 5 with a Sorceress.

    Paladins, well hell since only the big yeti's in Act III are magic immune you can just spam blessed hammer and slid by.

    posted a message on Solution to third parties?
    Actually, Elfen, they have banned thousands of WoW accounts due to hacking.

    But then people buy WoW right back up and start doing it again...

    That was my point. They are step behind. They ban a lot of accounts, great, that's good, but does it fix the problem, no. It only manages it. The problem or rather the people doing this stuff are still there doing it. Banning the account does little.

    Does banning the account of a bot on a forum fix the bot problem? Same thing. If we step up our efforts and ban IP addresses we do a better job of managing the problem.

    But this is mostly behind the scenes right. They only announce when they ban accounts, and the populace is happy. They put a spam reporter into the game to give players the power to remove gold spammers in chat channels, and the populace feels Blizzard gave them control over their own experience. Protip: Spam reporting only reports the account, it does not ban it until Blizzard decides to ban it. :P

    I would just like to add if you do this in WOW there is no distinction between spamming a macro of a gold buying website and spamming a bunch of random shit and pissing everyone else off. they both get filed as spam, and yeah the account will only be banned when Blizzard actually bans it.

    Thanks for that helpful info Elfen. So, if it's in there...Why does Blizz not stop it?

    They try to. Not sure if you play WOW or not, but WOW is constantly getting patched with authenticators and fixes to try and stop this, every time the hackers come up with something new, Blizzard tries to fix it. Trouble is, like any company, Blizzard is always one step behind. So they aren't really fixing the problem.

    Also I guess there is an issue of money, apparently my money is worth as much to blizzard as the guy who hacks the game. Apparently we are both viewed as paying customers. So there is no issue. While I would like to think my money is worth more as I am paying to play the game they made, they way the made it, but that's not how it works.

    Might seem a little harsh but it seems to come down to money. I love blizzard's game, but I hate people exploiting the games for personal gain. Exploiting game codes to make a mod or reverse engineer a mod, like how people used to do is fine and should be encouraged, and Blizzard infact does this. but straight up hacking the game to put 6 sockets of a Grandfather and having a Barbarian with 9999999 levels to Bash is beyond resaonable. And this should be outlawed.

    I don't care how fun it is having a barbarian who can whirlwind from the blood moor to Blood Raven's cemetery. It's just not right.

    Couldn't blizzard simply put it in the terms of agreement that you cannot use the items to make a profit by a third party?

    I myself haven't read the Terms fully, I hardly ever do come to think about it. But I'm pretty sure that is in there already. Something along the lines of I agree to not use any programs that are designed to alter gameplay to give one player an advantage over another, including but not limited to Hacks, editors, Proxies, Bots.

    It is for World of Warcraft.

    http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/legal/termsofuse.html

    A. use cheats, automation software (bots), hacks, mods or any other unauthorized third-party software designed to modify the World of Warcraft experience;

    B. exploit the Game or any of its parts, including without limitation the Service, for any commercial purpose, including without limitation (a) use at a cyber cafe, computer gaming center or any other location-based site without the express written consent of Blizzard; (b) for gathering in-game currency, items or resources for sale outside the Game; or (c) performing in-game services in exchange for payment outside the Game, e.g., power-leveling;

    C. use any unauthorized third-party software that intercepts, "mines", or otherwise collects information from or through the Game or the Service, including without limitation any software that reads areas of RAM used by the Game to store information about a character or the game environment; provided, however, that Blizzard may, at its sole and absolute discretion, allow the use of certain third party user interfaces;

    D. modify or cause to be modified any files that are a part of the Game Client or the Service in any way not expressly authorized by Blizzard;

    E. host, provide or develop matchmaking services for the Game or the Service, or intercept, emulate or redirect the communication protocols used by Blizzard in any way, for any purpose, including without limitation unauthorized play over the internet, network play, or as part of content aggregation networks;

    F. facilitate, create or maintain any unauthorized connection to the Game or the Service, including without limitation (a) any connection to any unauthorized server that emulates, or attempts to emulate, the Service; and (b) any connection using programs or tools not expressly approved by Blizzard; or

    G. disrupt or assist in the disruption of (i) any computer used to support the Service (each a "Server"); or (ii) any other player's Game experience. ANY ATTEMPT BY YOU TO DISRUPT THE SERVICE OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE GAME CLIENT MAY BE A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS. You agree that you will not violate any applicable law or regulation in connection with your use of the Game Client or the Service.

    Does that stop people doing it though is the hard part. Banning of accounts, what a punishment that is. Banning of IPs. Better but it's still not great. And neither is voiding CD Keys. But it's the least that should be done.

    It says you will be prosecuted for using these things, yet I can't recall hearing of anyone getting prosecuted without a legitimate player stepping up and reporting the offender first. Kinda lame. If you ask me.

    posted a message on WoW professions
    As a warrior, mining is a good option. The bonus to stamina is a real bonus.

    Blacksmithing is probably the next beneficial as a Blacksmith you can add extra sockets to items. This can only be done to your own items. Bracers and gloves. Belt is socketable too but that can be done for anyone. Adding extra sockets means extra gems which means extra stats. very good for Tanking.

    Jewelcrafter is another good option. As this allows you to make various gems that only a JC can use. Which again presents you with a lot of stat variations you can tailor toward your class.

    Thats what the above posts are getting at. I just elaborated.

    posted a message on Diablo II in Windowed Mode
    Certain programs, mostly Instant messenger ones, minimise Diablo II when someone types a message to you. Often it will minimise it at the worst possible time, also there is a delay in the minimising, depending if your computer has a lot of ram and/or a decent CPU.

    If you are playing in Windowed form, you can quickly hit the Diablo 2 bar in the task bar, restoring Diablo II to the top.

    Depending on your Computer than can also be a delay in restoring Diablo II after say AIM has minimised your game.

    This mostly occurs with AIM, MSN doesn't seem to do it. I've had AIM minimise my games when people messaged me, even though AIM is set up not to minimise stuff.

    That and the strecthing i guess is the difference I've noticed.

    Uh World of Warcraft. Last time I checked it was a massive multiplayer online ROLE PLAYING GAME. MMORPG. But I could be wrong. But you said free, so WOW is out.

    Firkraaq is the red dragon in Winspear hills.

    He can be solo'd by a mage with Wand to Cloudkill with 10 charges on it. Just don't get too close. Woo for cheese.

    The Dragon near Mazzy is harder than Firkraaq as he has poison spells.

    Isnt he a lich too? I dont remember him being so hard but maybe I have beaten him as a slayer or sth.

    yes Kangaxx is a lich, he is actually a demi lich, he is just a floating skull.

    He can easily beaten by imploring the most cheesiest method ever. Equip 1 scroll of Protection from Abjuration (imprisonment is a abjuration spell) the rest of your party equips scrolls of Protection from Undead (thus making you invisible to undead). Kangaxx will blow his inprisonment on the one party member he can see (the one who is immune to the spell) As he has minimal life (just epic as hell armors) he will die quickly.

    But that is pure cheese.

    No, Kangaxx is. The one in the coffin in the Unseeing Eye lair is part of the Kangaxx quest. Kangaxx is the hardest single creature in the game. If you can beat him you can beat anybody in BGII.

    His imprisonment spell (of which he can cast 10 in one round) is basically a wipe if he gets any off. its an interruptable attack. And if it lands it basically "deletes" which every character it hits. For some reason, not even the Freedom spell will bring them back. It works for everyone else that casts Imprisonment. Just not Kangaxx.
