On top of that they are going to make it so that in the end you can get all the spells. I think this will be a huge mistake as it completely nulifies the point of talent/skill trees.

Really? Where did you hear this? I heard that you cannot “respec” skills, only talents. Talents add a small bonus to damage and things like that. But the actual skills like Meteor or Firebolt will supposedly only be choose-able once. At least that’s what I read.
But they are looking to make the best gear BoP. Wooooooow. So WoW.
I hope they change this. Because in D2 it was always fun finding legendaries because even if you couldn’t use it, you could sell/trade it for a lot. In D3 it isn’t fun finding most legendaries because 99% of the legendaries you find either suck or are worthless and can’t be traded. Just melt down for mats.
I'll share my thoughts here, I was lucky enough to go to Blizzcon and play the demo.
The game is not in any way a D3 reskin; the resolution is insanely better and more detailed, and there was a tremendous cut-scene as well. Stylistically, it is similar to D3, so I can see how a low res trailer may not look that great, and feel more like D3; it was awesome playing it live though.
As for all the negativity...well, you're entitled to how you feel, but I think it is OK for people to feel happy about how they are going about game design without telling them "it's not cool, we should have had it already!" It was fun to experience the announcement, and it is fun to watch as the game develops. This is just advice from an old person: life is better when you enjoy it for what it is, and not when you are miserable over what it isn't.
The open world aspect is not going to work like WoW, where you see hundreds of people all the time. For the most part, you will be alone unless you choose not to be; Sanctuary is dismal and bleak, and playing in small groups reinforces that. You will start to see players when you get near certain world bosses or events and towns (at least that was happened in my game), but you don't share loot or anything like that.
I'm concerned as well about the trading issue, but I think if we as a community keep the feedback going, it will at least force a reasonable explanation as to why certain items will only be BoP, and I think at the least, we should get them to be BoA, like they are now in D3. That said, we need to realize that duping ruined realm play on D2; if you played single player you avoided all that, but we won't have that lux in D4, and I'd rather not have the game be decided by cheaters.
As others said, we are so early in development, and so much can change. Remember that early D3 trailer back in 2008? A lot changed between that and release, so no reason to assume that a lot of things won't change by the time the game is ready for launch. As long as we keep providing constructive feedback, we have a shot at the game being what we want.
My first impression was similar. This looks about the same just gritty. However, after watching all the streamers and VODs though, it is apparent that this is a demo, and there is still a lot more to do. The announcement might have been a forced thing too. Older Diablo systems were used for the sake of ease in pushing out a demo. David Kim in Rykkers stream said something along the lines as, This is all the content we have done and completed so far. Which is not much. "Not even Blizzard soon" shows that as well. As they continue to worldbuild and balance, there will be many changes. The demo in d3 was much different then the game today. The big difference is how they listen to the community. Now that this is shared with the community there will be a lot more voices chiming into this project.
Remember, D3, the Devs ignored a lot of what we were asking for with little information in between Blizzcons. The system failed us which in turn made a failed game. Blizzard knows this. They are already being a lot more open about this game and expectations I hope that continues after Blizzcon.
My wife enjoys diablo 3, I enjoy diablo 2. I think they want 4 to be the combination of both.
The system failed ? Ehm Diablo IV support same mechanichs= Bounties - Key Rift Called in D4 =Dungeong keys , there will be grater rift, same interface buttons Diablo 3 - achivement and quest event as in diablo 3 . The system failed ? i don't think . And paragon level system in diablo is under decision team developers. i think game will be the same with botter players -macro gamers- addon and bla bla. Consider only for console the paragon system = lots of money to refresh subscription online.

Boy it must hurt being this negative. Similarity doesn't equal it being a straight clone. And sure, there will be botters are macro users, they are everywhere. If they will impact you, is very much unknown at this time, thus not really relevant. Maybe blizzard will be wow-style-vigilant in banning? You don't know, I don't know hell blizzard dont know
For the most part I think the OP is right, we will have the same style of seasons as D3, all the actual "new" content will be behind expansions, which I guess will be every 2 or so years.
So basically we might see 6 seasons over the 2 year period doing the same crap, unlike POE (which I hate the graphics) still gives new skills/zones/bosses every 3months, every 3 dam months.
D4 can't do this, thats the stuff locked behind the expansion.
They should of designed D4 to beat POE imo, only way todo that is give actual new content every 3months.
I completely agree with you ... i just don't know why the community accept this diablo to be the next one, i dont care if its far from finished we saw diablo 3 early product before it was released years later and guess what? it was the same god damn game. Diablo 4 needs to completely remove the diablo 3 gameplay engine and graphics ( not talking to atmosphere but actually the character desigh and the feel of the game ) .. Diablo 4 needs to be diablo 4 not diablo 3.5 this is just sad and the runeword is very pathetic console friendly. i want an hardcore game that tops diablo 2 and so far, the itemization looks aweful, the gameplay is d3 and the atmosphere has nothing to do with a diablo game, sure its darker but tha tdeosnt mean it feels like diablo and it shouldnt be open world imo but still an ARPG like d2 with a single player mode and multi that's why i want them to remake the entire game because they actually ruined everything by copying d3 sucks to suck but devs dont know what to do
Stall the game if you need to i dont care release the game in 2030 idgaf but release a good fucking game without ur always online bullshit i wanna feel like im playing a complete game from the start
Honestly I'm not expecting this game to be out until 2022, the next 2 blizzcon's will likely follow the D3 route and showoff a new class with each one along with some new zones and what was added/changed or scrapped mechanic wise. I'd be nice to be proven wrong, but I really kinda doubt it.
Is anyone REALLY impressed by the gameplay trailer? I mean cmon, It literally looks exactly like diablo 3, just with darker themes.... as it should’ve had in the first place. No real improvement on graphics or mechanics whatsoever. Oh the barb auto-climbed a wall you say?! Oooo. They’re just copy-pasting D3 and giving us what we wanted over 10 years ago. Non cartoony diablo game with PVP. And it’s still supposedly over 2 years until it’s released? Kind of a joke tbh.
(Inb4 the “stop complaining and just be happy” comments)
It looks like a big improvement so far. Graphics wise the most, of course, but not only that. They are moving away from the retardness GR spam for big dick measurement with time limit. They seem to be moving away from the Paragon infinite farm as well. We have world bosses which are sort of a new end game. The first ARPG with full open world (excluding the dungeons of course). There's PVP, Trading and Runes. None of these stuff are in D3 so how is it like D3?
Why even use that avatar if you hate D4 so much? Kind of hypocritical.
On top of that they are going to make it so that in the end you can get all the spells. I think this will be a huge mistake as it completely nulifies the point of talent/skill trees.
They are gathering feedback and they already said nothing is set in stone... The game is not out in a week for you to be panicking over this. Jesus. They've already shown they are listening to feedback so give your feedback in a normal manner and it just might get heard.
Don't you know Blizzard? They don't want to make a great game. They want money, our money. And for that they don't need anything else than mega hype. And they have a master class in hype making, we know it.
Go back in mind for all their promises before D3. And what they did? Crap Action House, filled by bots and crap boring game about holding ppm and yawn hours by hours.
What do they do now? Same thing. A lot of promises and more of them in the future. Wind up hype about D4, then take grant for pre-orders etc.
This company does not deserve any trust in them anymore, after what they did with D3.

Auction House was announced long before the launch of Diablo 3. You can't really say they gave you something unexpected when it comes to that... D3 vanilla in my opinion was a much more solid game than RoS ever was. The only problem it had was the RMAH.
It's in their best interest to make a great game now. People are not sheep. A lot of people feel betrayed from D3 (and rightfully so). Seeing so many new people on the D4 team (and none of people that worked on D3) gives me great hope. What they've shown so far looks like they know what the franchise should be. Dark and gothic.. They are bringing a lot of stuff people enjoyed from previous games like the runes, trading, pvp...D3 had none of that even after years of promises. I am very hopeful for D4.
Apparently they forgot to announce that AH will be filled by bots that they could not handle with and then will be closed cause their incompetence.
And yes - so far everything they did is like "moved the brightness slider to the left". What is funny - first D3 video clip was dark as well. What was done after all? Pony lvl has its source, right?
gameplay isnt really the issue but the in game depht is. The items feels lack luster compared to D2 and d2 shouldnt be superior than d4 in any way basically since its an 20 years old game. but here we are still playing d2 because they still dont adapt to the superior item and stats design and spell without cd, perfect item name, and balance d4 will be another casual fest unless ppl speak about indepht more in d4.

I'm happy that there's going to be a top top tier that you need to get yourself and think the "trade but only once" system is a really clever way of stopping people from just being gods via abusing the marketplace.
That is what happened in D3 when the AH was a thing, or what happens in PoE the value of items is determined by the marketplace and the only real way to get super rich is to spend more time trading than actually playing the game.

Jairo Sanchez is on Diablo 3 rise of the necromancer and also diablo IV https://jairo.artstation.com/
