You know, Bible also says "Do not kill". I think that's more important than your private thoughts. And, it's not like men don't look at other women...
And please distinguish Old Testament from the new one will you?
The Bible also says to kill in the name of The Lord.
As for the Old Testament, Jesus specifically states that he is not here to remove the laws of the Old Testament. Lots of Christians forget about that...

The topic was Islam, and you used sarcasm to portray your belief that Islam is not barbaric. I then implore you sir, to read the material at this website: http://www.thereligionofpeace.com/
Why you deemed it necessary to bring Islam into the argument is just as logical/illogocal. They are very similar religions. If Christians actually read the Bible, they might realize that...

John McCain:
Physically attacked someone in the Senate [lunged at them]
Called Chelsea Clinton ugly, a young girl at the time
Told someone in Congress to, "Shut the fuck up".
John McCain threatened to beat someone up because they supported someone who he did not like.
John McCain has accepted $5,000 from someone who was at the time being convicted for felonies [I do not remember the exact story, read the book "The REAL McCain".]
Some of John McCain's current and former campaign advisers included: sexists, racists and special interest PAC's and lobbyists.
John McCain said he did not want us to be in Iraq for very long, then said it would not take decades or centuries to get out and we would be out in a few years, and then he said that we should keep troops in Iraq for over a century, but, they would be able to come back home "soon" and later said the troops needed to stay in Iraq.
John McCain is 100% anti-choice.

It is actually against the LAW to put the Flag on a Lapel:
The United States Flag Code lists many guidelines for the use and display of the flag. For example :
"No part of the flag should ever be used as a costume or athletic uniform"
The flag "should not be embroidered such articles as cushions or handkerchiefs and the like, printed or otherwise impressed on paper".
I would consider a flag pin to have the U.S. Flag embroidered on it.
It became popular because George Bush began wearing flag pins.
Thankyou George Bush. You symbolicly pissed all over the flag of these United States of America. Dirty bastard...

Obama has little substance because he has little background, and little to say.
Yes, anti-american and defeatist for not wanting to go to war in Afghanistan. Yes, completely. I'll stand by that 100%. NATO doesn't do anything, they're a bunch of goons who are too politically correct to take a stand, and believe money will solve the problems.
I'm from Massachusetts, a very liberal area, and I love guns. I like the science, and I think it is fun to shoot. Banning semi-automatics takes away many families defense against burglars, criminals, what have you. Guns have actually done much good, and saved plenty of people from being victimized. You made the silly mistake of associating geographic location with a ideal/side-of-an-issue. You only show ignorance and closed-mindedness when you take this approach. As a side note, I am quite sure I've read plenty more books than you, and of a wider array of topics.
I feel Obama is a closet communist because his ideas relate closely to socialist theories and practices.
As for LinkX:
Sadly, at the time of conversation Explorer and I brought up Islam and continued to talk about it. We had found something we both agree upon, so it suited us just fine. We all know that Christianity, Islam, and Judaism are all closely related, nobody is denying that.

there are examples of many countries that have outlawed guns completely, and are doing much better in terms of crime rate. Germany, England, Japan are all countries that restrict firearms and theyre crime rates/murder rates are lower than the US's. now im not saying this will be the case if bills are passed, but they are examples of results.
so if guns were banned from civilian purchase/use then what do we need protection from that non-lethal weapons cannot do?

First I'd like to thank you for the overall respectful tone you chose, and the lack of any offensive or overly emotional wording that many others have chosen to display. It is my belief that due to the second amendment, we simply have a right that other countries do not, and it should stay that way.
As for the other countries crime rates, I do not doubt they are lower but I do have to question if they're population or they're level of organized crime plays a factor in this. Those countries surely still have weapons in them illegally. It is also my belief that people kill, and not guns. So, that brings in the education system, and the culture.
Germany's culture is extremely friendly, and not even so much as litter can be found. The neighbors take care of each other, and the overall sense of pride and productivity. The level of Japanese discipline is astounding, and they're schooling is very difficult. I've found England's traits to be similar to the others. Now, I do not have a statistic or report to back this up directly, but various knowledge gained from experiences has led me to this belief. If you choose not to follow it, very well.
Edit: Germany does not have a complete ban on guns, as seen by it's Schützenverein, or in English, Rifle Association.
The Bureau of Justice Statistics states that 80% of the sources for firearms comes from family, friends, a street buy, or another illegal source. Whether or not we are allowed guns legally does not play as large a factor as some people make out in consideration to crime. http://www.ojp.usdoj.gov/bjs/guns.htm
Someone bent on committing a crime with a weapon, or achieving a weapon illegally is not likely to consult the law before doing so. A person who has gone through the proper legal procedures and training to get a firearm shows concern for the law, and is proven to not be a significant percentage of those who commit crimes with guns.
Regarding non-lethal weapons, I see no problem with them. I think it should be a choice to the person who decides to carry a defensive weapon. Although, there is always the realistic option to aim for the legs, or arms. A killing shot is only necessary in the most extreme of circumstances.
It is the people of this country who need to change, the respect, the knowledge, the personal responsibility, and the discipline of the culture.
It is all too controversial this year, therefore I choose to be independent. Obviously I have other reasons as well but I do not have the time or patience to state them at the moment.

i agree with this, i forgot it is an American right to own firearms, whether be for protection of the procurement of sustenance, and Americans dont usually amend something established for so long. however i do believe that there should be very strict policies on gun control, to thoroughly make sure we sell them to qualified people, almost to the point as if there was a ban because it would be so hard to get one. im talking about hours of classes on safety and ownership responsibility, licenses which need to be renewed yearly, background checks and mental health scanning...the works. not just oh he has cash and he waited 10 days and some brief look at a file that may be decades outdated.
i studied world politics briefly and global affairs and since i travel so much i do experience a lot of cultures, but im not very good at American politics. overall the citizens of established northern nations mostly view their gun policies as solid and wouldnt change them. very few of those countries people own firearms and have never used or seen one in public. i too also believe that humans kill, but when guns are so easy to come by in the states, those people are more efficient at the killing. video games dont promote violence, mental sociopaths do.
and btw, a shot to limbs can cause crippling effects, not to mention there are major nerves and arteries in the leg. but if someone attacked me and i had a gun, id aim for the kneecap, it all changes when your the victim

I think if anyone has the reason to hate war, it's a ex-POW. As you can tell from my user name, I'm in the military. I don't want to leave my family to go to the middle east, but I will if I have to. People often forget that a nation is man-made, and that really... we're all here on the planet together. I don't feel that because someone isn't a part of our country, that we shouldn't fight and die if needed for they're rights as well. Obviously the rebuilding of a country and the creation of a new form of government for them is a huge tasking, on that will take years and blood. Was it not the same way for the US?
I don't know anything super-special about the war that the general public doesn't, but I have for example, been through a live chemical agent chamber. I know what the things he dropped on his people do, and I've lived my life around them for almost 3 years now. I don't believe for a second that he didn't have WMDs (Which chemical weapons fall into), and I don't believe he did not have terrorist connections. But, even if he didn't... did his tyranny and ruthless murdering of his own population deserve the stand without the slightest questioning?
Nuclear weapons, to a realistic mind, are not as good as biological weapons. A biological weapon, while hard to release and pinpoint the attack area, will simply leave the area clean afterwards. All the riches are then yours to have. Chemical weapons will still contaminate the surface, and sink in to certain materials for years. Saddam also had biological weapons. Does it honestly make sense to anyone that he didn't have connections?
Irregardless, we are there now and to leave the job unfinished would be to have sacrificed all our service men and women's time and lives in vain, and the efforts of so many hopeful Iraqi citizens. They want us there, they even stage bombings so that we think it is a terrorist attack and will stay, because they know if we leave... they are not going to become stable.
By the way, applesoffury, your British soldiers are pretty damn cool (I got a feeling your British, but I couldn't find it anywhere in your text, so maybe I'm wrong).

Columbine was a gun free zone. The post offices were a gun free zone. The major shootings are 99% of the time gun free zones.
So remove guns and and that wont happen? They are already breaking the law. You arn't going to buy a gun legally to do illegal things, that's just stupid and idiotic to think that way.
By the way, it's a hell of alot harder to get a gun then just waiting 10 days and looking at a piece of paper.

If you want to kill someone, you will kill them, gun or no gun. We have been doing it for tens and hundreds of thousands of years and have grown very good at dealing the agent of death, guns are simply a new toy that Humans have come up with, a toy that is not nessecarily needed for such actions.

We should put another Saddam in power, not because Saddam was good, he was a bastard by all definitions. But he was our bastard, and he kept the peace. Israel, first of all, supply the U.S with more army technology and arms support than America has ever had independently. Without us, Israelis, you would probably all be dead by Saddam.
Secondly, bring another Saddam to power? Are you that blind and young to even know what he's done in his reign of tyranny? Say what you want about Saddam, but when he was in power, there was no huge civil war, and there was no American lives being lost every damn day. Saddam killed millions, but he kept the peace, If you want war, go fight and die yourself, but I for one see it for what it really is. Another needless war.
Side note: You are not a barrier against "Arabian Evil", you are a liability that causes the Middle East to hate us more. You simply can't admit it because you are obviously a nationalist.
If we severed ties with Isreal, we could begin working on our relationship with the Middle East and thus the terrorists would be hard pressed to find more to bring into there ranks, and nations would begin to not allow them in, thus peace would come into the region, which means more innocent American men and women living and not dead. But that will not happen as any president would be labeled anti-semetic if they uttered the simple truth that your nation is a liability.

It seems you did not read the articles. Nothing there is "obviously biased", unless the reader makes themselves see it that way. For example, one link is a publisher's purchase page for a military history book dealing with infantry. You are not the only one using curse words, and references to sexual orientation have been made. It is strange how you mentioned all of the rules I quoted, except for the one regarding religion. While by the forum you are allowed to use cuss words, in debates it negates the effectiveness of your argument by showing a loss of control in the user's emotions. Swearing kept to a minimum? I'd say no.

I have been taught that they are Weapons of Mass Destruction. I can see why disruption is used, but personally don't agree with it.

wtf are u talking about...seriously. so u might as well say put another Hitler in charge, hes only so far off. our bastard? the US went to war against him twice... and keeping peace...umm operation desert storm ring a bell? invasion of Kuwait sound familiar? and exactly thats why we dont pull out of Iraq and not give a damn like we kinda did with cold war Afghanistan. its not like i like the war and post war conflicts, its that the US and its allies have already gone to far to say screw it and leave. having read multiple reports, articles and journals on Saddam, i can positively say no to you mon ami.
Iraq is in a CIVIL WAR. Nothing you or I or anyone can do will stop it. It has become religous in nature, and thus will continue untill something drastic occurs. Staying in Iraq and "Staying the course" is not that drastic happening that will end this civil war. Either we leave and let them fight it out or we stay and screw ourselves over worse. Either way, we have hurt our reputation in the Middle East even worse then it was before with this little escapade...

Are you talking to me or someone else?...

I'd say no.
The links he posted were for me, by the way. A better place for them would have been a PM, but they are an informational resource for me, and not an argumentative base.
My appologies, I had not seen the religion part. I am equally critical of all religions. I can debate on just about every religion. The difference is that a majority of the Western world is either Christian or Jewish, thus most of the time I debate on said religions. If you want, we can debate on other religions in another thread, that is completely up to you.

If you have four or five blood thirsty groups that fight each other every chance they get, who would better control them? A group of people who vote on everything, or a man with an iron fist? Obviously the man with the iron fist would be better to deal with said people untill such a time that they can behave respectably.
Iraq is in a civil war, Saddam was keeping the civil war from happening with an iron fist. The civil war will most likely split the country in two, with much more bloodshed happening then would of occured had Saddam stayed in power. Yes he was a tyrant but he was the lesser of two evils.

The Bible also says to kill in the name of The Lord.
As for the Old Testament, Jesus specifically states that he is not here to remove the laws of the Old Testament. Lots of Christians forget about that...
Why you deemed it necessary to bring Islam into the argument is just as logical/illogocal. They are very similar religions. If Christians actually read the Bible, they might realize that...
Any site with:
I place on equal factual importance as youtube, myspace, facebook, fox news, or comedy central.
If you have real arguments, please present them, otherwise go read your Bible and learn about your religion.
Which is why I want Ron Paul to be pres... Fucking genious... Not sure how he got into Congress, too damn smart for Congress...
Indeed. There won't be peace in Iraq untill there is another Saddam in power.
Doesn't supprise me. Sounds like a typical Conservative. "SHUT UP OR I'LL HURT YOU!" Yea...
It became popular because George Bush began wearing flag pins.
Thankyou George Bush. You symbolicly pissed all over the flag of these United States of America. Dirty bastard...
Again, I laugh that this country is so damn immature, that we are so trivial that we talk about things like this. In other countries, not having a lady/gentleman on the side says to the people "I'm no good at multi-tasking!"
You can see a picture of Obama's participation in the national anthem here: http://pal2pal.com/BLOGEE/images/uploads/obama-national-anthem.jpg
You'll believe what you'll believe, I'm just trying to educate. However, painting me a Christian when you have no idea what I am is blatantly a mistake. If you mistakingly meant a holy scripture from any religion, please specify because they are not all called "bibles".
As far as real arguments go, you decided to pounce on us and you have failed to deliver. I don't care what you've said to other people as they have the job to defend their own words, but as for me and the people involved with my conversations, you have made no points worth debating, only shooting down.
Making Controversial points one post at a time!
so if guns were banned from civilian purchase/use then what do we need protection from that non-lethal weapons cannot do?
he was raised by a single mother for a breif period, moved to jakarta, then his mother dies. he goes to oxy then xfers to colombia. thats a hard working man. and im pretty sure jakarta is not northern by any means. hes not rags to riches but he wasnt like Bush or other prez candidates u see; well off at an early age. but in McCains defense, he did goto vietnam.

I'd go Obama.
i studied world politics briefly and global affairs and since i travel so much i do experience a lot of cultures, but im not very good at American politics. overall the citizens of established northern nations mostly view their gun policies as solid and wouldnt change them. very few of those countries people own firearms and have never used or seen one in public. i too also believe that humans kill, but when guns are so easy to come by in the states, those people are more efficient at the killing. video games dont promote violence, mental sociopaths do.
and btw, a shot to limbs can cause crippling effects, not to mention there are major nerves and arteries in the leg. but if someone attacked me and i had a gun, id aim for the kneecap, it all changes when your the victim
*Edit*
and i hate people comparing McCain to Bush, they arnt the same, Mac hates wars and wants to end the current one for good, but he also isnt a hippie and sees that if the US pull out without establishing a rock solid interim government, a great mess may arise in the immigration of terrorist cells to an area with little control, I.E. a corrupt, possibly weak Iraqi gov't if we just leave them be (The New Security Dilemma!!). understand that the US needs to be there and the UK has also suported them, so there goes your "oh we just hate muslims or we need oil ideas", even though the US BSed a national security threat sanction attempt, Sadam was a cruel and corrupt leader doing terrible injustices to his civilians and he needed to be taken out.
"to the worm in horseradish, the world is horseradish."

He may of killed, but he kept the fucking peace. No pussy foot democracy in that country can keep the peace, not without being supplied millions of dollers every month and given loads of guns like we do with Isreal.
But Isreal is a whole 'nother fuckup for another thread...
I see you are an idiot. I will take this slow. I will also keep this as brief as possible since many of you don't even seem to care about mass writing posts.
Israel, first of all, supply the U.S with more army technology and arms support than America has ever had independently. Without us, Israelis, you would probably all be dead by Saddam.
Secondly, bring another Saddam to power? Are you that blind and young to even know what he's done in his reign of tyranny? He's killed millions, and without us Israelis, he would have continued to cause your precious country more trouble than you could imagine. We foil these arab tyrants and madmen's plans, we are your barrier against this arab evil. You should thank us for saving your "pussy" lives.
But it's ok. You are probably American, and probably not older than 15 years, otherwise you would keep your mouth shut with anything regarding Israel.
It's not death you should be afraid of.. it's life.

Thank you, thank you. I wasn't going to touch that one because of the complete lack of understanding he displayed, it wasn't worth the time. Not all of Americans are like that though.
Edit: Out of curiosity, could you give sources or information regarding what Israel has done to lessen the extent of evil in the middle east? I am interested to see beyond what the American news has to offer.
Certainly. There's too much to give, but here are some very basic information links that are the tip of the iceberg regarding Israeli constant battles against the Arab threat to the world:
http://findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_m1571/is_n36_v9/ai_14223071

I've read them all personally, and I recommend them, although they show about 1% of my country's true contribution to end all types of Arab terrorism and world wide threats.
Enjoy.

All of these have been violated.
As per requirement, an Israeli must put down an American each day, thus I will ignore this part.
Except that Saddam would have no quarrel with us, as we would no longer be supporting his arch enemy, Isreal. I will say this slowly: The. Middle. East. Hates. The. United. States. Of. America. Because. We. Support. Isreal.
Also, what about the radical Christians and the radical Jewish people? Or do you have a blind eye to them?
Don't think I am anti-semetic, because I am not. There are many good Jewish people in the world, I just think Isreal the country is a big liability we don't need. Obviously you want to skew it to your point of view as you have indirectly said that you are an Israeli, and thus want as much support as you can muster.
How about something that isn't obviously biased for the Judao-Christian theology?
On a side note: I am not anti-semetic. I am very good friends with Jetrall for example. But I doubt that information will change anyone's mind... *Sigh.*
On another side note: I have not heard the word "Gay", "Lesbian", or the like used anywhere, and I would of picked up on it if it was said. It says to keep swearing to a minimum. Thus I can say it a few times as long as every other word is not fuck and shit. And I am the only one I saw saying a curse word. And we are talking about religion and world policies, which is a major issue on the political plane, thus it is important to disscuss.
