I know it's way too early to really make sure, and its mostly theorycrafting a this point really but since we have time to kill for another 40 days..
I'm planning on playing D3 as a duo with a friend going to play Barb. Before he told me he was going to play D3 I was leaning toward WD or Monk myself, most likely monk, but the way I see it now, it feels like a ranged class would probably be more ideal than another melee class. I could go for some all out glass canon setup while he'd use a tanking'ish build..
What are your thoughts regarding good partner class to duo with a Barb?
Your monk keeps grouping enemy's around him and debuffing/slowing them (while still doing respectable damage to them) so your barbarian can tear them apart with Whirlwind and generate crazy amounts of fury for 1056% weapon damage Weapon Trow super novas! Frenzy is there to help out on bosses or elite/champions.
Depending on how aggro plays out in the game u might also swap out Overpower for Threatening Shout to further lower enemy damage (if u see u dont need healing from overpower and monk healing can keep you up). Like wise you can swap out animosity for tough as nails/nerves of steel if you see you are geting pounded too much.
In my opinion this is the best bang for the buck taking into account curent state of classes, aka best power to monster power ratio (more people you have in group, harder enemy's you face), You have sick debuffing power coupled with powerful offensive combo.

lol this made me laugh. I myself am also playing with a friend and we are going Barb/Wiz. I see the wizards damage and CC complementing the barb very well. Both pve and pvp
I'm gonna be playing with a Wizard mostly. I have other friends who are playing Demon Hunter and Witch Doctor too, but the main person I'll be with is Wizard.
I can see having the CC being nice, since Wizards really seem to have a lot of that. It's a good mix of elemental damage too, for monsters that are particularly resistant to an element or two. They might be a little squishy though, so there's a con.
Monk seems to be physical and holy, and that partially overlaps with me. He can take a beating though, and has the best support. Not to mention a heal too.
Demon Hunter is fire and physical mostly (I think. They can probably rune for different damage), so while that is different, it isn't very varied. They do have awesome control though.
Witch Doctor is poison, fire, and God knows what else, so he might be a good choice for a partner. Pets and good CC don't hurt either. He's probably as squishy as the Wizard though.
Also, no matter what they pick, they won't be taking your gear. So there's that.
Dualing Barbs is actually a good strategy. Concentrate your attacks in the same area, will cause the monsters to die even faster. Dualing WW barbs would be pretty sweet. Alternate Shouts to help eachother out too
Dual Barb just for the sake of it or, Monk for the auras/healing/buffs.
I would not go with the barb build that InsquisitorRale posted but the monk build seems quite good.
Guiding Light, Mantra of Conviction, Breath of Heaven <3
I rather have a melee that can take a beating than some squishy f*** that I need to babysit.
I think you'll find that the ranged classes can handle themselves as well as any other class. It does have to be at least somewhat balanced, after all, if the game is going to be soloable for all classes.
(...) Do u think barb is going to be able to take the beating for both of you? Almost doubled damage from monsters...
Correct me if i'm wrong but afaik the monsters won't hit harder but will just have much more HP. Much more as in +75% for every other member in the group.
Regarding the WD vs Monk choice, if i go WD I'd rather use a build without pets.. not a big fan !

Most demon hunter skills don't specify any type of damage, meaning the damage type usually be what ever damage type your weapon has an affix for. That said, a DH can deal high damage with as many different types of damage they have weapon affixes for.

Thought they had an elemental arrow or something. I dunno, maybe not.. Don't plan on playing much Demon Hunter. All I remember is this explodey fire thing I saw in some playthrough video.
