So.... IGN did a Q&A with Jay Wilson.... and a few things stuck out in my mind. The one I'm particularly interested in is the following:
IGN: It's the situation I had with Diablo 2, I would be seeing "Cows 555 Go Go Go" or "Cows 666 Go Go Go" over and over again. Diablo 3 will remove the need to make that kind of hackneyed solution?
Jay Wilson: We definitely want to do that. It's not in the game, so this is not a promise, but I can tell you that my desire for that is that you just be able to hit Escape, menu comes up, and you can say, I want to redo what we just did. I want to replay this part of the game, restart my game essentially, with all the same people. And I just get a confirmation thing, hey, you want to? If they say yes, we go, and if they say no, they stay in that same game. Somewhere a programmer's heart exploded, but that's our intent, that you shouldn't have to have this really convoluted way to replay content. One of the other things that we'd really like to focus on is, that the endgame not actually force you?well, it doesn't force you, it's your choice, but not make the most advantageous way to play be to do the same thing over and over again.
Obviously we (and they it seems) would love to keep the amount of -forced- repetition to a minimum, but if there are places where you want to re-play an area / quest / boss either because it was a lot of fun and/or because it's good loot, the quicker and easier one could do so, the better.
Im sure we are all tired of joining a game, then rushing to quickly type the name and pass and try to get into the next. Once you have a good group of players who are committed to a 50 run game lets say .. they should be able to do it easily.
Great implementation, and I hope it makes it into the final product.
actually thats the thing they'r supposed to end, countless runs...
exactly! I thought they were figuring out a way to make those "pindle en meph" runs obsolete... ah well, he says it's not implemented, so at least they're looking at different viable options, which is good.

there will always be a loot pinata in blizzard games
it's the law of metzen
blizzard just wants it so, like how in sc2 every game in a list wont be DotA - DotA nonoobz - etc, in diablo 3 every game won't be BAALRUNZ08 - ITELEBAAL2334 - etc
but people are always going to grind the boss/zone that drops the best loot
I think there headed in the right direction with D3. making every aspect of the game worth several runs is definately an improvement from D2 where u'd always be doing baalrunz, cowsss, and glitch rush's. I trust Blizz and love where they're headed with the game. my only concern is, five classes????? oh well.....i think ive just been playing to much D&D NWN 2

The one who makes it doesn't make it for himself. The one who buys it doesn't buy it for himself. The one who needs it doesn't know it when he needs it.
In my opinion this is a good way to avoid such joining and rejoining. But I hope they will implement this feature appropriated. I mean you have to finish a certain part of the area before reseting it. Because rushing to the boss/special monster killing it and reseting makes for me no sense.
This features is like the instance reset in WoW. I liked this feature because if the group is willed to play again just reseting it and having fun again.
ah yes....good times. I hope they don't screw this up lake wow did and make it max X (I think it was 5...) an hour...I remember doing hours of resets with my "long range scope" for Forors Compendium of Dragonslaying....ah :'-)
that was the first (and only) time time wow was like diablo =D

if you played wow you would see why a small amount of classes is a good thing
better yet, go to the WoW forums and go back a few pages (atm it is probably all CATACLYSM QQQQQQQQQ) and read what each class thinks of the other classes
there is no way to balance and make 10 classes interesting
+ I'd rather 5 unique classes that had several unique ways to play them than 20 classes that some were pretty similar to some others...

people want to be the best you know
its not impossible to make more than one way to get rich at a game, and blizz stated that they'r going this way to improve replayability
u can say that ppl will find the best way.. even if its jst a little better
ok, but blizz can do a simple thing.. what made me do andy and not meph sometimes was the good chance 2 drop soj.. if u got the idea, its changing the grind zones by making more places worth the kill and also making gold worth something with better goldsinks then gamble (d2)
Couldn't they Just Move them to a waiting chat room for a second delete the last game and create a new one with the same name? and put them in it.
Im for replaying but it should be Big chunks of the level like acts or quests
But I'd much rather my D3 NOW

What do you guys think? Is this a good route to take?
