So I am want to try and make this quick, idk if I will be able to do it but i'll try!!
There should be ARENA PvP in diablo, like there is in WoW, the thing that has been preventing it from happening is the PvE, because it would change the game so much and everything wouldnt be as fun as it is, well, then how we change it?
Make it so PvP characters are created apart from normal D3 toons, like an option to choose when creating a character (softcore, hardcore or pvp)
First off, all PvP toons are instantly lvl 60, and you can only create a PvP toon if you have already a lvl 60 of that said class in your characters, which means you can only have a maximum of 5 PvP toons per account.
Second, there would be no Paragon in PvP, which means lvl 60 is max and that is it. PvP toons should spawn when created at a different area, like a big city with a lot of vendors and every single PvP player should be there, in this city there must be: -Arena team creator NPCs -Queue NPCs -Vendors* -A lot of space * lets talk a little about vendors, all vendors must sell items pre-set items that have wanted stats for PvP, players should be able to choose between these items which one fits their playstyle most, and gem them as they like, these items should cost 0 gold, and sell for 0 gold, and so should the gems.
There should be seasons, just like in WoW, as well as MMR and rating, there should also be a special dye vendor, that sells different dyes for PvP gear, that can only be aquired with rating (the more rating, the more dyes you unlock)
Being top X rated in each season should give special vanity rewards for the PvP character that player has, such as Nice colored Wings (or whatever blizzard can think of), as well as a Title, something similar to Gladiator in WoW.
PvP balance should be, sometimes, different from PvE balance (but not much so we dont have a whole different game, just some % here, some +- there, just enough to have the game balanced)
I could go deep here, but I am really sleepy, I hope you guys like my ideas, and Blizzard's devs or something read this and maybe we have a shot at having another good Esport by Blizzard.
Thanks for all the reading!

Hell no, the whole point of pvping in an rpg is to match up your personalized toon with others. That's not competitive in this game, but so be it. If you don't play your own, self-developed char, why would you want to play Diablo at all?
What a bunch of BS.Stop trying to make D3 competitive play.D3 is what a diablo game is.A grinding game with some pvp for some lols.If that's not for you, then get out and go play something else.It is that SIMPLE!really..it is
Diablo 3 should NEVER try to become an eSport. It's just bullshit, Diablo 3 isn't even a game where PvP should be big, like WoW etc. And Diablo3 shouldn't be similar to wow(maybe some few exceptions like skills).
Also what that guy explained how it could work like, sounds to me like an instant WoW private server.
I like how you're trying to add PvP to Diablo without harming the PvE side of it.
Although after reading your post all I gathered from it was that Diablo should be more like WoW, WoW was even mentioned more than Diablo was.
"Diablo should do this, just like they have in WoW!"
Try and come up with some ideas that aren't just a copy/pasta from other games, especially that cesspool of a game, WoW.
But hey you're coming up with ideas to make Diablo a better game, so I'll give you credit for that.

"Hey, I thought you'd like the witty irony of grub-on-glowie violence!"
I have to ask the question; Why would anyone play a pvp character? If you can't use the gear you find on 'regular' characters, there's no paragon XP to be gained, and you can't use the pvp character to farm / do anything else, wouldn't that be extremely boring?
Also, their biggest concern about pvp is balance, even when every class has the exact same items. There are just super strong skill combos that are just straight up unfair when playing against another person. They would STILL have to completely change skills / add a GCD.
It just doesn't sound like fun to be farming on my toon, finding great gear, than saying "Hey, let's go play a PVP character that doesn't have any of our awesome found gear, has completely different / nerfed skills and doesn't give us any reward besides maybe achievements!". Sorry, no.
I believe D3 should try to be less like WoW - not more like it.
this!
please can all the wow players stop taking out their boredom of wow on diablo.
don´t try and make diablo your next wow, just wait for titan and leave diablo alone!
While I don't agree with the OP, I need to mention something on this; WoW is the top MMO, it's EXTREMELY successful. Blizzard has taken elements of WoW (which with some features they got from other games) and put them into D3 / SC2, ect. I'm not sure what the actual fear is - even though D3 doesn't have a subscription, if they are willing to put the time in and develop tweaked systems that might be similar to their other around-the-world successful games, then by all means, please!
You guys really need to stop fearing.... whatever it is that you fear. I don't even actually know what it is that you're afraid of. D3 becoming more popular?

My fear is not Diablo becoming more popular, it's the community that comes with it.

"E-sports" are stupid, they are not real sports and while some skill can come into play it all comes down who can play the most broken class the best. There is no level ground because one class will always be at an advantage over another, just look at wow and the ridiculous changes that are due to trying to balance pvp.

Yeah I bet esports are totally about abusing overpowered classes.
Like in all of the most popular esport games. Counter strike, fifa, trackmania, starcraft... All have totally overpowered classes and it's not about skill at all...

Esports are built from the ground up, not grafted onto existing games that have no competitiveness at all.

them you create the game and ppl join to fight with different mods of battle.

And having played mobas before I tend to agree with that statement.
Blizzard is allready doing it anyway, no need for that. D3 at release was basically D2 with all the WOW comfort functions put onto it.

Very much so !
A spearate mode is the only way to go if you want a truly balanced esport (even though that concept on it's own is arguable).
