As Zethrael and the others started their march, a dark shroud began to hover over the demonic horde. Every step Zethrael took resulted in the earth at his feet being scorched and burned. Even with his flames completely extinguished, the only thing that remained behind him was the charred smoldering remains of plants.

Damarus chimed in, telling the horde of several tasks that were required of them before the assault on the town. One task caught Zethrael's attention. "A band of local heroes is staying in one of the taverns... they should be moving on soon. If my sources are correct, they recently defended two other towns from a demon invasion. Taking them out is imperative."

"My skills would be best used in head on combat, so am ready to move on the tavern to
remove the band of heroes from this world, Damarus." said Zethrael. The burning eagerness to slaughter the heroes lingered on each word that left his blazing furnace-like mouth.

320MB? Everything I've ever read, and all my personal experience, puts Win 7 x86 w/ Aero themes right around .8GB.

I'd love for you to post a pic of your Task Manager showing your system running off of .32GB. And for some reason, all your program stats are significantly different than mine, except for WMP.

I also think you keep forgetting that the operating system needs to reserve memory addressing space for all of the hardware devices. On my PC, with Win 7 x64, that addressing space is .673GB. I hope that is clear enough, that 2GB is the bare minimum for an average user with Win 7 x86 and 3GB min with Win 7 x64.

As for the installation quote of .5-1GB. I take it you've never installed Photoshop.

Question, why is an IT guy using Norton?

Yeah, you'll be able to run it in that low-mid setting range with good fps, no questions asked.

For an even better experience though, I'd suggest a dedicated video card of at least a 9800GT. Everything else in your system seems fine to run it at what I would guess is a solid middle performance setting.

But like it was pointed out by Seth, the requirements aren't out yet, so we're all just making educated (or not :P) guesses.

Sorry, I forgot I'm running Win 7 x64 Ultimate, which requires 2GB just to run that without any real addons. The 32 bit only requires 1GB. But remember, if you want to run Win Xp Mode, that is an additional 1GB requirement. So any old games that he wants to play, say bye bye.

Lets say he runs Win 7 x32 with 2GB, and he's not lame, so he's running it with Aero. Right there, .8GB. Open Mozilla Firefox; that's .3 GB, have an antivirus monitoring in the background; that's another .2 (generous), Peer Guardian +Speedfan; .1GB, Spybot; .1GB, Windows Media Player; .1GB, the list goes on.

Then imagine if he actually wanted to install something, .5-1GB right there. Trust me, 2GB is a realistic minimum for operating Win 7 32 bit, and 3GB is the realistic min for operating Win 7 64 bit like any normal person would. Also consider that the OS doesn't register 100% of the RAM. With my PC, I idle at 1.3GB with Win 7 x64 Ultimate. That is only with Spybot, Avast, PeerGuardian, and Speedfan running.

I can guarantee that a game like DIII will run like crap with only 2GB RAM. Personally I wouldn't run DIII with less than 4GB, and I'm going to run it with a minimum of 8GB by the time it comes out. I want the bottleneck to be my video card, which will most likely be an XFX 5830.

Damn, you're going all out aren't ya. Razer makes great products, so you'll do just fine with them. Some stuff is overkill, in case you were wondering.

Check out the Logitech s220 2.1 speaker system. It's what I use, and WAAAAY loud. Incredible bass blasts from the sub, and the two little speakers get so loud that I don't even want to turn it up past 50%, and usually 25% is plenty. Also, it has a little pod that you put on your desk anywhere you want, and it has a really cool dial on it that adjust the volume. And of course, there is an on off switch, a Mic input, a headphone jack, and a subtle orange "on" light.

The 5870 sure as hell better fit in there!! If you're talking about the 5970, it should fit as well, as it is only 1" longer. As long as you leave a hard drive out of that slot, you shouldn't have a problem. That case is huge!! I really like that case overall. Great design with tons of cooling, good cable management, bottom mount PSU, and it's ready for water cooling down the line. I only wish they would have painted the inside of the case black.

I'm sorry, but I have to point out that 1 GB of RAM is too low for even most day to day processes, let alone games. The only operating system that runs well on 1 GB is XP, and lets face it, that is outdated.

It sounds like you're telling him to build his own pc for $300. While it is entirely possible, I would strongly recommend against this. If you're building a pc, spend a solid $600, otherwise buying an HP or a Dell for $300-400 will actually be a better deal.

I'll see if I can put together a "Under $500" list when I get home from work.

I figured if you're using an anti static mat (supplies #4) it probably has a wrist strap attached, since almost all of them are like that. But seeing as myself and everyone I know who builds PC's are all hypocrits, we've never even considered using a mat or wrist strap.  lol

I'll add it to the list of supplies though. Thanks.

I apologize. I only read the first page, and figured the second page was the same BS. Scyber tried to explain, then Seth stepped in, then Dauroth posted proof, but you all simply dismissed their points.

It still stands that this is a clone of the other thread Three-Headed Demon = Diablo? - Please keep all discussion regarding the demon here (that is the actual title BTW)

So shouldn't this thread still be closed?

Oh my god we are still discussing this over a year later!!! Pay attention to everything that is said immediately before that screen pops up. They start with a generic male body and add from there. He also talks about changing proportions, posture, etc.

That is 100% guaranteed Diablo. That was a very very early build before they had finished the model for the body. Look at the detail in the head compared to the detail in the arms, legs, etc. Then look at the detail in the trailer. They obviously weren't finished.

And yes, Diablo is in DIII, because of many many reasons. The obvious being the statue, the cinematic, and the game is called DIABLO III!!!

    /End thread pleeeeeease!!

This is where the discussion should probably continue.http://www.diablofans.com/forums/showthread.php?t=9627&page=17

Man I tried taking apart one of my laptops a while back to fix a fan and nearly cried with frustration, there are like 5 different sizes of screws to deal with, BEFORE taking the keyboard off. Do your homework real well or ask someone for assistance, those things are animals.

Laptops suck for builds. I know, I tried pulling stuff apart in one of mine to replace some parts. The problem is, that if you get a prebuilt case, they're glued and screwed in all sorts of hard to find places. But once you have it apart, you then realize that all the connectors are different from Desktops!O_O

Disastrous. Gaming builds should always be done in a desktop, unless you just outright purchase a gaming laptop. But then you're looking at $$$ for a halfway decent one.

Sorry, but I think you picked the cheapest PSU for that wattage. For OC'ing, I would go with a minimum of the Antec Truepower TP-750w. The only problem I have with the Thermaltake is that all of the 12v rails only provide 18amps. That seems low to me if you're going to be overclocking the piss out of a processor, and still intend to run SLI or Xfire. That Antec has 25amps on each rail. Much safer IMO. Everything else in your setup looks awesome. What Video card/s are you looking to run?
