This has been the main question I've been wondering for awhile now. Have they actually stated there will be a CE with art book? I hope there is because this is one game I would love to have the art book for

    Quote from NullerGnuen

Not to bring this subject up again, but I'm wondering.. Why is it the demon hunter is so "not liked" just because of it's name? .. In all the forums I've read about the demon hunter most arguements that this class suck is coz of it's name.. And that I really don't get... I mean, so what?

The names are mainly used to new people to get a fast understanding of what the special thing this and that char. can do, and Demon hunter fits that fine.. After you've read the name you know its a ranged char. coz of the hunter, and you know she is not an ordinary woodsman using a bow or crossbow coz of the demon in it ..

The topic at hand isn't that the Demon Hunter sucks, its that the name "Demon Hunter" holds no originality. It's a hunter, who hunts demons. Where as the rest of the classes also hunt demons, but don't have the title "demon X". I agree the name is simple and trivial, but I still like it. It's catchy and sounds good, even in a game where every class hunts demons.

What do yall think about pistol crossbows being an act 4 or end game item!

I don't really see that being the case. Most items in previous diablo's have been available from the earliest levels all the way to the end. I see them keeping this same situation, as it allows more freedom and play style choice for the player. The main difference will be the uniqueness and rarity as levels progress. And personally, I hope they keep it that way. Its always fun to pick up new weapons and tinker around with them while you level, regardless of it being the ultimate best for the time being. Sometime they allow for different perks such as slows, attack speed, aoe dmg and so on, so keeping all weapons available from a low level would be the most fun imo.

posted a message on Things that concern me about D3
I find it hard for me to agree with op on pretty much everything. Maybe I'm a fanboy, but everything they have implemented in the new d3 looks great to me.

1st of all, the art direction. 10 years ago we played a dark, 'evil' game that everyone fell in love with. Now, we have a more 'vibrant' colorful version, that isn't as some say 'evil' enough. Seriously? When I go back and play d2, yes its dark, but the graphics we had then didn't allow for the detail we have now. They had limited choices in environment, so it was often made dark. Now, we have soft textures, rigid textures, soft and harsh lighting, 3d environments where monsters will be coming at you from both foreground, background, above and below you. For me, a game just being "dark" and gritty isn't what makes an eerie feeling, or 'evil' setting. To me, its a mix of environment, monsters, lighting, story, and music, and sound effects. So far, the videos we have been given don't have background music, a major factor and known trait of D2. We also don't have storyline, and in this case, the narration that will be playing over the game while you progress forward. I think this was a great idea, as it allows you to keep the pace moving, while giving you the story in a solid voice. And finally, I personally am happy that we will be able to see and enjoy the different environments, and differences in lighting between the acts, and how your mood and feeling will change going from the deserts of act II, into a creepy claustrophobic dungeon. If you really despise how vibrant the game can be at times and could care less to appreciate the detail thats put into this environment, turn your brightness down and voila, a dark game.

Pking: like said before, only fun for the pker. Yes it closes doors, but it also creates stronger community with better multiplayer games because now, you dont have to worry about it and everyone is on the same page.

Loot: Yes there was a adrenaline rush of running around scrambling to grab as much loot as you could before anyone else. Problem with this was, if you were the victor in the group and snatched up the best loot, you were also the dick. If you were the loser in the group and didn't get anything useful, then you hated the dick that got it all.
The new loot system eliminates all that, and allows you to enjoy the game without watching the boss hp bar getting ready to right click spam the floor underneath him. Everyone gets loot now, some useful, some not, but your option to trade and still enjoy the last 30 min you played will still be rewarded if you didn't have the fastest connection or playing the melee character.

Artisans and crafting: I think its an awesome idea as long as its not very limited. Yes it creates busy work, but what else were you doing in d2 after you completed hell? grinding, grinding and more grinding. At least the crafting serves a purpose, and its optional. Don't feel like crafting? don't, and just keep running through bosses. Get bored of killing bosses? craft some stuff. It allows for a break from one or the other.

Sure there will be regular bows, there's even an ingame screenshot of a demonhunter weilding one. Also we saw some bows dropping in various gameplay vids.

ehmm and in d2 there existed dual-weild-x-bows, eg. buriza-do-canon, did you ever play the game?

/damn, I think i misinterpret dual weild and 2 hand ... I am sorry... :wallbash:

Yea I was referencing the two crossbows, but no worries, and i played me plenty of D2, honestly believed the devil had something to do with the creation of that game.

Back on topic, I'm happy to hear that regular longbows will still be in game. I haven't seen the recent screenshots of Dh using them, so that's good news. I always preferred the regular bows in D2 as well, although I am interested in how the duel wield will play.

A permanent pet I can't see for the Demon Hunter. The whole idea behind the character is that they do nothing but kill, track, live breathe, blah blah demons. Yes, a pet would be cool, but it wouldn't really fit the "lone wolf" idea behind the DH for me. On the other hand, Perhaps a skill that summons a couple shadow hounds to charge and taunt enemies in front of you for X seconds would be neat. Would allow for a "taunt" like skill giving the hunter room to breathe and set up for attack without the pooch always at your side.

Do we even know if regular bows will exist in game? I know they were in D2, but then again, they didn't have duel wield xbows. Since the Demon hunter already has a class specific weapon, and regular xbows will be available to both the DH and other classes, do you think they will add regular bows as well?

posted a message on Where's Beta?
This website is going to drive me crazy.....

    A metaphor perhaps....

So this girl says she wants to have sex with you, but you have to wait, and god will you, because she is what you have always wanted.

Years pass, and she is still stringing you along, but you know when you finally get it, it will be worth it.

In the time thats passed, she constantly is teasing you, a dirty text message here and there, and once you start losing hope, I naughty picture comes your way! OK WERE BACK IN BUSINESS!

But still, nothing, just the teasing, and occasional visual to keep you leashed.

It's been 10 years now, and the teasing has become more consistent, more often, and promises of the day soon.....

    BUT WHEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?????????????????????

During times like these, you often hit the bar, swallow your pride, and go for the average because it will hold you over for now. But damnit Blizzard! Lose the Chastity belt and let her free!!!!

Were talking about video games by the way......

I don't think d3 is going to be a benchmark game for upgrading your computer. It looks great, and can't wait to play it, but its not gonna push your system unless your already running into that issue with majority of other recent titles

witchdoctor, drop the zombie wall in the bubble and sick dog on wizard.

Barbarian, use leap into bubble then knock back out of bubble.

Monk, put pressure on using the reflective shield

I see the wizard slow time as a very strong ability. But in pvp I also see it being easily avoided.

posted a message on Battle.net - now 5$ a month (from "trusted source")
    Quote from "Redskies" »
TBH I wouldn't be that angry if Blizzard decided to charge for B.Net as long as they'd keep the fee at a reasonable level like a few $ per month. You can still play the game if you don't want to use B.Net, but I understand that redesigning the entire site has its expenses to Blizzard. Besides, who knows what they're planning to add, I don't expect regular content patches like WoW, but if they make a well-functioning chat, friends list, trade, shared stash and maybe even some events etc. I don't mind paying a small fee for that.

BAN!!! lol just kidding. While 5$ a month isn't a lot of money, its still not needed for bnet. Wow costs to play because of weekly maitenance, live support ingame, constant patches, and new content for free.

Bnet should be free for just hosting servers to play on. If they wanted to charge a few bucks for a patch or something that included more content I wouldn't be against that, but to pay monthly is just not reasonable.

if you read the post i made directly above yours, yes it will....

And thats a good thing. You actually have to work for getting good gear now, either by finding it yourself, or spending a good deal of money on it. This will prevent ppl from always having top notch gear at every level unless they earned it or spent the chunk of change on it.
