Personally... I feel like the WD is the worst class in end-game currently. I'm not sure why you think we're so awesome. I've been playing my Wizard more and more lately and it's sick how much better Arcane Power is compared with Mana.

I'm not sure how people don't think they are awesome. To each his own I guess.

    This.
Mana sucks, and being only really able to spam darts endgame sucks.

Then spam Bears. It's completely viable in Inferno.

There is nothing "powerful" about WD -- a bunch of half-assed skills with runes and a broken resource system.

Perhaps the class just isn't for everyone. Thus far it's been the easiest to go through content for me. I'm certainly not the only one who thinks so.

I tried the glass cannon route, it doesn't work. I can take a couple hits in A2 and you really need those if you plan on kiting anything.

    ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

It most definitely works, you just need a large amount of DPS to make it work.

Lol kungan cant handle the butcher.
Good trollin' bro. He was one of the first people who killed butcher in the world on hc.
I won't even respond to the trolls in here (they know who they are) You obviously didn't watch his stream or you are simply trolling.

That's fairly ironic, considering you started this off by trolling.

Good for Krip. That's pretty impressive.

Anyone run this today and see the same results? I ran for an hour at 200% GF and ended up with just under 300k. While good money, it isn't as good as I was seeing yesterday.

posted a message on crit for witch doctors
    Quote from verbatim21

I was wondering what the community thinks about crit (chance/hit damage) for a witch doctor. I noticed that a flawless square emerald increases damage more than a star ruby (on my weapon). I don't have a star emerald to compare but I will try to make one as soon as possible (once I get enough flawless square emeralds, only have 60 so far; donations of these are appreciated). I suppose crit hit damage might be worth more when you have more crit chance since a higher crit chance is a higher chance to "use" that crit hit damage. I'd like to hear what people think, as well as look at any calculations anyone has done. Please don't simply say "it sucks" or "it's good" without anything to back it up. Thanks.

    Check out the spreadsheet http://www.diablofans.com/topic/46860-dps-spreadsheet/

As far as "how good is crit" really depends on your gear. For me, Increased Attack Speed is slightly better right now. I imagine if I add more AS, Crit % will be better.

So...I did a short 15 minute test...the dungeon popped 13 times for me in 24 runs in Inferno. I vendored all the gems and every blue as well as three out of the four yellows...total amount of gold game to 73,000. This is with 169% gold find. If things stay as is, one should be able to get 250k per hour at that GF percent. That seems to be consistant with what others have posted in the thread. I haven't done much else for farming in Inferno, so while I cannot say if it's the best gold per hour, it would be tough to find an easier way to get it.

If you want to sell your Blues, Gems, etc without messing up your checkpoint, head to the vendor to the left (Arghus the Collector) after you teleport back to town

I started WD as my second char and wow pets are just crap. I mean dogs were dying even on normal act1, and past act2 they were completely useless, unless i select all passives for them. Now on nightmare even gargantuan is useless, he just dies too fast and i have no desire to sacrifice all my passive slots to improve pets.

Since when does one passive use all your passive slots? Zombie Handler is the only one that makes your pets tougher, so there's no reason to use anything else. Granted, the dogs are weak before then. The Garg is still hugely op in NM and even in Hell. His usefulness comes to an end in Act 2 Inferno.

WD are fine, and for me the easiest class to win with so far. I just hit Act 3 in Inferno and am enjoying the difficulty. Had a heck of a time against the Butcher though. Monk and Wiz are right up there so far, but I'm only into the 20s and 30s with those two. From what I can remember the, WD was comparable at those levels. Haven't touched a DH or Barb yet.

There are 3 pet passives. Zombie Handler, Jungle Fort, and Fierce Loyalty.

I forgot to add 'you need', as in 'Zombie Handler is the only one you need that makes your pets tougher'. My bad there. With that lone passive talent the Garg is sustainable up through Act1 Inferno, and easily so in Hell.

Also the numbers are all there:
    • On average players have created 3 characters each
    • 1.9% of characters have unlocked Inferno difficulty
Which means that approx. 5% of all players are in Inferno. That's several 100k players right there and is a lot more than WOW hardcore raiders at any rate. And this is 2 weeks after the release, so every day more players unlock Inferno, so I don't think the numbers even help their arguments.
This assumes that every character in Inferno represents 1 unique player. I know for a fact this is not true as I know at least two people who have unlocked Inferno on 2 characters.

For all I know they could be the only ones, but I doubt that, but that's just anecdotal evidence so it shouldn't be relied on. Regardless, people jumping immediately to 5.7% of all players are on Inferno are assuming too much. Those saying "mathematically this is the maximum possible" are providing helfpul math, don't then add a bunch of unwarranted assumptions in.

That's why I wrote approx. 5% and not 5.7%, and I don't see how that is an "unwarranted assumption".

You don't see how posting numbers with zero to back them up is an "unwarranted assumption"? How could you not?

Only thing I want to address is the legendary part. In wow I have my rogue legendary, Best in Slot.. Why? Cause its LEGENDARY. So if they aren't meant to be the best, then why give them a name that indicates they are. Deceive much?

    You're kidding, right?
    http://www.wowwiki.com/Legendary_items

How many of those are BiS right now? At one point in time they were, just like every legendary in D3. Naturally as you level up, they will no longer be the best.

You realize this website is "Diablo fans" right? Go back to WoW. Go away, you're a minority.

So someone makes a valid critique of your thread and you come back with this sophomoric response?

Number 11 is probably the only legit one of the bunch. But really....pay a small bit of attention to your drops and the problem is fixed.

As far as the rest....man...I guess if they want to make the game more into a Diablo 2.5 or a D2 expansion then they'll implement some. But it's obvious they don't want that (which is a good thing), nor do the majority. After playing Diablo and D2 for several years, I'm ecstatic they changed it up. The games were good back in the day, but all this nostalgia from a few is getting old.

posted a message on Gameplay/FPS on MBP mid 2010
Yeah Monkutare is dead on with everything. Just posting with my experience...

I've got an early 2011 MBP with a 6750M. With everything on high, I see around 20FPS running around town. Everything on low it jumps to 50FPS. Shadow Quality seems to have the biggest impact on Mac users, dropping me 10 FPS on it's own. So yeah, things are a bit rough on the Mac side right now, but I'm optimistic given the post Monk linked to. Running Lion does help (vs Snow Leopard).

It's 0.1% of the builds currently being used, yet the 5th most used.. thats saying the game is very very cookie cutter.

You can't make that determination from the info given. In the context in which he stated it, I'd say the opposite is true.

Nostalgia, a very scary thing. Not only in this game but in RL too.
Whats weird though is that many complaints show how much people didn't know what to expect from a Diablo game
eg : "I 'finished' the game and have nothing to do, shit-short game GG"

It's not Nostalgia, we are still playing DII, I bet you never did though.

You still playing D2 has no bearing on whether you feel nostalgic. Go look up the word.
