Jun 7, 2012Tybudd posted a message on Trading Forum Changes, Commodity Sales Return, Disparity Between Melee and Ranged, Blue PostsYeah, interesting change for melee, but I don't see the point in making the Mortors harder for range, the game is hard enough and as a ranged, mortors is what I hate the most besides the combination of speed and immune.Posted in: News

In the recent addition to the game guides, it says that the more MF you have effects the percentage chance of getting more affixes to a particular item right?
OK so wouldn't that mean that yes, MF will give a wider use of an item with more affixes and stat variety, wouldn't it cause the item to lose potency?
Example, if an iLvL 63 had a stat budget of 600, wouldn't it be better to get a great roll on 3 affixes that you need of 200 per affix instead of 100 per spread accross 6 affixes giving them an average of 100 each.
Barb roll
Neck roll 3 affixes:
Vitality - 200
Strength - 200
All Resist - 200
wow pretty strong in 3 needed barb stats.
Neck roll 6 affixes:
Vitality - 100
Strength - 100
All Resist - 100
Int - 100
Dex - 100
Gem slot - 1
Descent but some affixes aren't needed or not that important.
Keep in mind these are example numbers of how I see this working, if its different and you have facts please note them, if they are your own assumption, please note that "you THINK" it works in whatever way you think it does
Thanks in advance, a Blue's confirmation of this would be nice.

I was actually proud that the community had figured out a way to maximize their chances with un-id'd rare sales, in the form of a gamble/lottery between Diablo community members, so loving the idea I got into the mix.
Selling my rares when I got a string of like 15 trash items, looking to make 300k on an item that was possibly just vendor trash, and hey, if the other guy hit big, grats to him for taking the chance, and visa versa.
"Damn, I'm tired, I don't feel like farming, I have some extra gold, let me get on the trade chat and see how much the un-id'd rares are going for"
Strangley over time I've maybe bought around 30 rares from random people, and what do you know, not on one of them did I hit big, yeah to comfort myself I say well hell bad luck, but this subject keeps making me think that maybe I was just hoodwinked out of millions of hard earned gold. Of course as of now I just don't feel like I can trust trading of this nature anymore, which is sad because it was a great way to link the community, and some Einstein had to screw that up:(

Even though I'm not a glass cannon, as soon as something flinches at me a certain way, now I pop my SS , or SP/Gloom + Caltrops/Jagged spikes since I have some LoH.
One might think that you are wasting Disc, but most of the time all you need is that one use to avoid a one shot death, and can survive to make the space and get the kill, especially if you are one that tries to move right to the edge of danger, then sometimes miss judge the distance and still get hit and killed.
Just practice being more pro active with hitting it if you fall under this category.
Normally if I can dodge that all of a sudden insta-kill, I still have a chance that Prep procs, or if not have time to kite to build more disc.

Before I used to think this, but other factors come into effect.
Remember affixes are affected by MF, so if this was the case you'd just farm up as much rares as you could, then equip all of your MF gear plus your 5 NV stacks and then unidentify all your pieces. Or you can pay other geared users with max MF (if you don't have it) to unidentify for you, and then return your items.
Thats one of the main reasons its determined on the drop, because your MF% at the time of the kill is calculated then.

I've been really under pricing my drops

Yeah if this was the case, it should have atleast had a more "universal" voice so to speak

I really didn't need to see this:(
I just hit my highest gold amount in this game (3 million) and thought I could buy a good upgrade only to see that the lowest descent upgrade was around 34 million gold /sigh
ps. I've gotten 2 around 2.5 million 3 other times
