When are people going to learn that monthly fees won't keep the kids out . What we can do though is go policing asking for peoples ages, then have fun hitting the Ban Button.
With the bloody chunks and head-off-ripping bosses (signature!) the game will probably be rated Mature. There wont be a monthly fee, will close out a lot of their customer base.
We'll just have to deal with it, as we do currently. Hopefully partying will be more worth-wild than in D2 and the jerks and morons wont be invited into those D3 groups.
So I read posts on various pages and it seems the main topic hasn't really shifted from these two points, so hopefully this comment wont be to outdate
2.) Updates are nice, I'd like some real WORLD events (wouldn't we all)
Um no we wouldn't
I don't want to kill a demon with a santa hat
please
this isn't WoW(Saying this only because it's the only blizzard game with world events to my knowledge) or any mmorpg.
since there havent been a lot of AO game ratings and the system does not work anyway- what would be the point of putting a AO rating on it??? what so that the people that are pushing for games to not have this rating to shut D3 down??? come on people- if little 12yo bobby see's D3 and knows his buddies plays it and he screams loud enough his parents are going to give in and buy it i have seen it hundred of times the rating does not matter. hell i have sold games to 14 yo with there dad here saying u know this is a M rating and there like we dont care........... anyone remember a recent game called man hunt and the crap Rockstar went threw????

my sentence structer sucks and so does my spelling but thank you for tell me that doesnt make me care any more then i did before:P
Yeah but you have to be 17+ to buy a M rated game... so if you buy a M rated game for your 14 year old (or younger) kid and not look at what it is... you kind of fail.
I think a 14 yr old is totally capable of handiling a rated M game. How many 13+ kids play grand theft auto? In my opinion thats worse than M rated computer game.

There are those that can handle them and those that can't- that is prevalent in any age group. However, it's been statistically proven that with some children at that age, who are at a stage in their life where their minds are more malleable by external thoughts, will become more prone to violence and the like when they become older if they grow up on stuff like this. If that wasn't true, we wouldn't have things like the ESRB and such.
I mean, I don't think I am- I've been playing whatever rated game I wanted since I could hold a controller- and probably a lot of the nebulous they aren't like that, either- but there are exceptions, and they number great enough to have an impact on society as a whole, even if they are a small percent of the total population.

I see your point but I read this and so many people want the 14 year old people out. (I know this will never happen but im just amazed on how many people blame kids for there poor gaming expirience) Ive been playin Diablo sience I was age 7 I am 14 going to be 15 aug 5. Ive had more problems with hackers than imature kids. I solve that problem by not entering duel games where everyones maturity level ushually drops. And if they do come in my game theres a squelch button are an easy esc save and exit. Idk if its just me but it bothers me to see such hatred tword 13-14 year old people. People got along with me fine (probably couse my first two years I was noob and this was the first video game I ever played.)

A monthly fee won't keep children out. Hell, kids get Barbie party shoes for like 150$ these days.
Content will be delivered by Blizzard with no monthly fee. Things like patches and maybe even mini-addons and whatnot. The game will be updated, and if they want to include a lot of new content... They'll do what everyone else has done/they themselves have done in the past.
AN EXPANSION PACK.
They've already talked about this game not being an MMO. Only MMO's get monthly fees.
I been lurcking around this forum for about a week and finally registered. I just wanted to add my thoughts in about this. Read before you flame please.
There are many reasons I would like there to be a monthly fee, or at least wouldn't mind it.
1. Keep the kiddies out. I am tired of 14 year old punks ruining my gaming experience. With a monthly fee, that is payable by credit card not game card, it would get rid of a lot of immaturity and would result in a better game. The game is rated M for a reason. Go watch your bob the builder and leave the gaming to the adults, thanks.
2. If blizzard plans to regularly update this game like wow, then I don't mind one bit paying for the content. It would give extra money to blizz for new enhancements and whatnot. We were all complaining about how d2 hardly ever got updated. Well, why should they when they have no reason incentive to. Added levels, bosses, items, bug fixes, and world events is way worth the cost to me.
There are many other reason however those are the main two.
Also, something else i thought of. Let say they start out with a fee of 5-10 dollars a month. Thats cheap as hell. However, every time you are caught using a hack, cheat, or exploit they raise that price 5 dollars. It would be a incentive not to cheat because it would start effecting the wallet.
Lastly, to the people who say they they cant afford a monthly payment. Honestly, if you cant afford 15 bucks max a month then you really need to get a better job or something and not play games. Im sorry, but if you are struggling to pay that small ammount of money you have other issues.
Bring your lunch to work 3 days a MONTH and save that money.
Dont spend 19 bucks at the movies and have that money.
Dont buy a case of beer and you can have the money.
If you are responsible with it you can easily find extra money.
Well thats my two cents, flame on.
Your first point is critically biased. It is immature to believe that all kids that are 14 are brats that will ruin your game experience. I don't care how old you are Murderotica, you already sound like you alone would ruin my experience. Saying that all the kids you *know* use game cards to pay monthly fees is not evidence, I can say that all the kids I know use their dad's credit card in that case.
Yes, 15 bucks a month is not a lot, however once you get a job, your own place, start paying the bills, then you will realize that it is not the amount that is being payed that irks people, it is the sheer idea of paying your hard earned money for something intangible and not directly connected to your survival (especially when talking about social value).
Your second point on giving blizzard money to update is a little more understandable. Money does inspire a sort of loyalty to the players. However, in my own opinion I feel that I can probably live with whatever normal updates come out rather than paying for more frequent ones.
Ok, I understand that some kids are annoying and ruin your game experience. However, stereotyping all 14 and under kids as imature brats is just stupid. Blizzerd does not care that people don't like kids playing diablo. A kid's money is worth the same as an adult's money, therefore Blizzard would not ever want to try and drive away a certain demographic just to please another.
14 year olds do not ruin your game experience. Noobs do. Just because YOU think that all 14 year olds, or any kid or teenager for that matter, is a noob, is not a good reason to make everyone pay more.
Diablo III is not an MMO, and will never have a monthly fee.
Btw, I'm 15. Your bigotry astounds me.
