I want to get a feeling for which class will be my main. I'm leaning towards witch doctor > demon hunter currently.
Mostly because I will roll hardcore after my first play through of inferno. I'm thinking a pet build will be very helpful in testing damage to see if a pack of monsters is to risky. I also just can't wait to play. If its only a taste its better then being the guy in the office who doesn't get a piece of birthday cake.
I'd like to play the beta mostly for preparing myself for the release. Getting a hands-on with different classes would give me a better insight into what I'm starting with, come release. Also, I'd find out if my current system is capable of running the game flawlessly with minimal stuttering, if any. Lastly, I just love the diablo series. Being addicted to Diablo2, having just sit out on the Diablo3 beta (no matter how small it is content-wise) feels awful.
To me now its just a matter of saying i got it. I've been trying since day one to get in on this beta with no luck. And i have definitely been on youtube watching other people play this beta for months now, which i know is very very sad. But hey im a huge Diablo fan ever since the first one, and i just cant wait till this mythical release date. I wanna try it out for myself.
getting familiar with all the classes is KEY before actually starting the game when it comes out! It'd be nice to see which character I would like playing with the most, because they honestly ALL look good. I can't even pick one that I wouldn't play with. I've never played a diablo game (believe it or not) but I'm hyped about this one
Because I've been a fan of the Diablo series since day one?
But seriously, the real reason is because I'd like to see whether or not Diablo III will work properly with my new D-Link 2640U Router on my 3072/512 ADSL line here in South Africa.
In December, I was fortunate enough to have a friend from Ireland visting for Christmas, and was able to play the Beta for a few hours. By my DSL line was so unstable, I got dropped from the game every couple of minutes, and had to login again. I think the longest session I had then was maybe 15 minutes. Even so, I eventually got around to killing the Skeleton King.
My experience has also verified that Prometheus (my computer) is able to run Diablo III:
AMD Phenom X4 9600 Black Edition
ASUS M3A32-MVP DELUXE Mainboard (790FX Chipset)
4096MB DDR2 Memory
ATI Radeon HD 2400 Series Graphics, 256MB
Windows 7 Ultimate X64
I was recently able to determine that my DSL instabilities was a direct result of the ISP-supplied router. And since replacing it with the aforementioned D-Link 2640U, my average download speed has increased from about 15KB/s to a whopping 320KB/s on the same 3072kbps line. And line instability has dropped from an average of about 12 disconnects per hour to maybe 1 or 2 on a 24-hours period.
So why do I want to play the Diablo III Beta? I want to know for sure that I have not wasted the R600 on buying a new router, or the R1200 on pre-ordering both the Collectors Edition and Standard Editions of Diablo III...

Peter Alexander DzomlijaDo you hear, huh? The Alpha and The Omega? Death and Rebirth? And as you die, so shall I be Reborn...
Well for the most part I want to test the connection from my country to the U.S Servers because I hail from Singapore. Also I want to test out my current specs of my computer to see if it can run Diablo 3 smoothly... And like many of the other people out there im dying to play new games, been waiting for Diablo 3 since forever. Being bored isn't fun at all T-T
I have a few friends that are playing the beta quite actively, and we're all extremely bored of WoW... I've already watched TONS of beta footage, now I just want to get my hands on it to try it myself. I also want to try playing all the classes so I can decide which one I want to play when the game is released.
Since the release is a while away it would be nice to play the beta.Test the classes and the game itself. It would be nice too see the game graphics and other stuff.:)
Diablo 2 and Diablo 2: Lord of Destruction had made up a large part of my gaming career since junior high school straight into high school. I remember cutting class just to go to cyber cafe's and they weren't ordinary cyber cafe's either, they had most popular games! Guess which one I played? .. Bingo, Diablo 2.
I played Diablo 2 so religiously that I had every class at a high level, farmed the Secret Cow Level, spent hours upon hours in the Trade District Chatroom on Battle.net. I still remember being called "Ethereal Zod'ed Man", since my paladin had ethereal gear and they were socketed with the Zod rune so they can last forever.
I ran so many noobs through the game when I became well-endowed with my fair share of loots and experience. I got a childhood friend to play Diablo 2 and he ended up getting more into the game than I did (nah, just kidding!) but he did become a god of MF'iing and did he, ever. Stashes of Stormshields, Windforces, Shako, other great items.
I still remember him questioning why he lost to me in a Barb vs Barb duel when I let him use a Doombringer and I used ... that lightsabre or crystal sword, something like that. Skills, baby. That game was my life and I did everything I could and more to ensure that I had the upper hand in many situations, that showed my ability and dedication to the game -- it was just simply too fun.
I hope for an entry into the Diablo 3 beta so I may once again re-visit the world of Sanctuary. A new foe arises..
Normally I try to stay away from betas for games I'm looking forward to because I wouldn't want to ruin the game for myself. In this case I definitely want a beta key because of the fact that they only give u a small taste of the game. If the beta let you play the whole game, I know I would be tempted to play the whole thing, but in the end the surprise of the game when it actually comes out is one of the best parts.
Because I've been waiting for this game since it was announced. I'd take any chance to sample the game as soon as possible. Franky, the reasoning of "to help weed out bugs" is not on top of my list.
1. Fun. Which is the biggest point in gaming.
2. Criticism. A few developers nowadays can make the balance between inner convictions and community feedback. When the community is pissed, I believe even more in Blizzard. It's their game, not the hardcore community's. The biggest fans almost destroyed any challenge existing in Dead Island, for instance, which was a cool game, by "forcing" the developers to make a softening patch, reducing drastrically the difficulty of the game. I don't approve this.
I'm a developer myself and I really think I can put some constructive criticism, not radical at all, and help the game.
Surely I can dream about giving Blizzard useful and constructive ideas, but you never know...
1st and formost I want to play the beta becose I simply love Diablo games its the only IP I play from Blizzard.( played D2 for about 5-6 years)
2nd I would be a player that would try and give some good feedback to Blizzard as I would like this game to be great when it is launched. There are a lot of great testers and feedback now but more never hurts and I am sure there are alot of ppl that simply play the beta for a short period and just stop without giving any feedback what so ever.
I think Blizzard is headed in a good direction with D3, they have changed alot of things for the better. So far there are few things that I dont like about it and they are all things that have been taken out after they let us see them. IE Mystic and the death animations.
still crossing my fingers and checking my B.net account daily for that shiny beta key!
Well i want to play the beta still because its the new freaking Diablo!!! That should be enough said right their but I will go into more detail. I would also like to get in the beta because I would like to check out all the character's see some items, the auction house, balances and what works and what doesn't. Also just kicking some monster arse will be nice.
I want to play the beta because I've been waiting for this game for quite a few years. Diablo has always been one of the best game series I ever played and I can't wait for the third part. Mostly, I'm curious about the *feel* of the game. Will the music and atmosphere all blend into a dark, evil and brooding world in which we can slay evil against all odds?
To entertain myself till the game comes out! Also because when the game is released i dont want to be a total nub Wana learn on the beta some stuff, get to the swing of things!
I just want a few practice rounds to get some experience. I dont care that my chars will get wiped and my achievements 'dont count'. I just wanna get better at it.
Hmm..the main reason why I would want to play the beta? Staying up until 4 AM my time because I heard from a friend that a new game might be announced in which the general consensus was Diablo 3. I was half asleep when I heard a guy playing a familiar tune on the guitar accompanied by really loud cheering; and there it was: Diablo 3. Needless to say, I woke up the parents got in trouble and went to sleep. Next day, I went straight into the diablo3.com website and Diablofans (originally called Diablo3 ironically lol) just to get a smile out of seeing everyone excited. For the next few years, I waited patiently for the game as I recall them saying they have be in development for a good time already. It was dreadful as the years passed, year after year; to get a taste of what's to come, even just a small bit of it is all I need to keep me hoping for the best. It's the only franchise I have been consistent on and I would rather not let myself stray from it now.
