Okay, here's how I came across this. Since diablo3.com was recently relieved by blizzard, i decided, "Wouldn't blizzard be smart to reserve Diablo4.com now, just in case someone is not as willing to hand over the url for free.
So type in Diablo4.com and you are transfered to the world of diablo website. This could all just be someone who has done it on their own time, I have no idea to find out if it is by blizzard, but the site is owned by these guys.
If this is all real, at least we know it isn't going to be "The Next-Gen MMO". Because that will be coming out later.
I don't really see the point why people are getting so upset with the possiblity of having a 2nd blizzard MMO . So what if they make a second? It's only money to them.

Through victory my chains are broken.
that doesnt prove why Diablo couldnt become an MMO and severely cripple WoW.

Its not going to be an mmo, Blizzard does not want 2 mmo's competeing against each other.
ya that seems to make sense but does that mean diablo 3 (or whtever they call it) will have a similar system to diablo 2's where you get a party of 8 characters?

No, it splits up their WoW fanbase.

It's the decisions you make when you have no time to make them that define who you are.
I would enjoy it as a MMO simply because that would mean updates all the time and continuing content to feed me. But it can easily be badass without it.
A smart thing would be to make their next MMO based on Starcraft or another Sci-Fi based setting. That way while they are competing for more market share in the MMORPG fanbase, they are reaching out to more people by offering a title in a very neglected genre and not per se directly competing against WoW. Fans are starved for something that's not swords and sorcery all over again.
A Diablo MMO just wouldn't work to me since WoW has incorporated so many D2 elements into it. I'd still subscribe to a Diablo MMO however.
So? Some goes to WoW, some goes to Diablo. It still doesn't give any valid reason why they would cringe at the idea of another MMO. From what I get with people who play WoW, its not something that they would give up so easily because it has been out for the last X number of years. If its a question of fanbase Blizzard should have no care in the world because WoW has developed such a deep following. Diablo is the only one that should worry because the game has become more cult following then anything. Not to say that it is completely a cult following.

If they made a diablo mmo it would probably take population from WOW and most definately atract new audiences, they would profit but i dont think its guna happen
I sure hope that diablo 3 / or maybe a 4 is not MMO. Because if it is, I will not play it. I might be kinda old school, but people should not have to pay to play a game every month. And the lack of a single player option leaves out a large group of players.
There are the pro and cons to MMOs, but I for one will not play them, nor will I pay monthly to do so. There are too many free games out there that I can play for free (just buy the game) instead. There are too many other games, such as Counter-strike, fortress-forever and tons of other games to play. Once a game goes MMO, it time to move onto something else.
