And the lack of what needed to be changed from it's predecessor.
I'm not sure if there are any hacks in this game yet. But I've heard that people are botting. And The channels are chalked full of Spam.
The AH, I'll admit. I wanted. Now that I see it, and I even thought of this before hand. Is really cluttered. The AH, is always ALWAYS going to have the exact item you are looking for. And now that you are competing with every person in the game who's trading that item. The prices will never be anything but SUPER LOW.
I can see the prices being very high on a very specific rare item. But whatever. There's nothing before that.
Before you reached maximum level in Diablo 2. There were sets, uniques, rares, runes, rune words. Whatever. A whole variety of things to equip until you got your upgrade. Now you see that upgrade in the AH, and it doesn't have the same feel. And I can guarantee you. If you look hard enough. You'll find it at a very reasonable price.
There's nothing really. I wanted my end game character to be nothing but high end rares that were very valueable. But I didn't want it to be somewhat of a guessing game all the way to the top. All the way up there bland random generated items. For a bland grey disgusting game.
The story is horrible. Honestly.
The bosses are horrible. And they've actually made them unfarmable. Which meh, they implemented that wrong. Cause their game has nothing going for it. Like I wanna experience that gameplay over and over again.
They made a Gold Auction house. Which I'll bet you all you're gold. Will be entirely obsolete in the next few months here. Because gold is crap, almost already. And the inflation of items is going to have a huge impact on this. There's nothing to this game. Nothing. You're gonna find everything. It's really a kid's version of the old Diablo's.
Which was proably intended to steer people towards real money.I hope for the latter though. I'll keep checking in to see if people resorted to actual item trading. Somehow. In this very random game. Trade games are no more. Like D1 or D2...
Which even Diablo 1 had a fairly exciting Skill selection. And I crave to play that game to this day. The skills in this game are horrible. And WE ASKED, I THINK the biggest thing we asked for.. Is that we have a TON OF VIABLE BUILDS. Which Diablo 2 was somewhat lacking. But it turns out. Diablo 2 just turned out better in that regard too. Along with D1 however long ago that was made.
I can't believe they tok out their original idea of lootable Skill Runes... That would have worked. Minus the AH.
And again, I've seen people saying there are hidden stats in the game. And that was something I really hated about Diablo 2. i haven't played D3 in a while here. But wow. Get those out if this is true.
There was nothing worse than making a character in Diablo 2. Where it said you did X and X and X but for some reason. They just weren't doing it.
Except in PvP, Diablo 2 was fairly balanced PvP wise. Which Diablo 3 has none.
Because it was unfinished when they released it. After 3 years. Of constant updates. And hype. They released an unfinished game.
This is so common now a days. I'm just going to guess this is a marketing strategy for big name games. Less work. The same pay out. It makes sense. It get's talked about. There's no such thing as bad publicity right?
I agree with some of what you've said, but the story is not horrible. It falls in line with the diablo saga of games and novels exceptionally well and was an overall good story. If you think otherwise, that's fine, its your opinion, but I can tell you that you're in the minority. 95% of players loved the story, its just the 5% thats extra vocal about hating it.
Also... if you didn't know about the hundreds of hidden stats in Diablo 2, then you never really played Diablo 2. You were just one of the people who walked through normal and killed Diablo and said you beat the game and now you brag that you were hardcore into D2. Diablo 2 has SOOO many hidden stats that were absolutely necessary for high end characters, especially in PvP.
Max chain lightning, max fireball, max teleport, max golem if you were feeling extra scared. Spam that staff of Apocalypse that you ran and refreshed Aria 5000 times for. The only thing exciting about D1 was the zombies that would permanently drop your max life score if they hit you and even that got exploited by sorcerers who used a super low life + mana shield to become immune to stunlock from when you get hit and go into hit-recovery animation mode.
I agree that D3 has some growing pains and needs more adjusting before it's just right but please do take off the rose-tinted glasses before you compare it to d1/d2.
You're talking about dupes... We don't want dupes. Thank god they got rid of those though.
We? you mean the small minority that posts on forums while the real majority is actually playing the game?
If d3 was almost exactly like d2, people would complain that nothing changed. People would complain no matter what.
I call it COD syndrome. Call of duty modern warfare series started out with everyone loving it, then mw2 came and people complained about the similarities and some differences, then black ops, and people complained that it was too similar, then mw3 came and people further complained that it was too similar.
The point is that even if a game is similar to its popular predecessor, people will complain about lack of changes.
TL:DR People will complain whether it was exactly like d2 or 100 percent different.

We have no idea how many people like and how many people don't.
The random people I played with at least agreed with me on the story.
And with some games.
There are always people who will waste their time on complete @$%^.
There are always people who continue to play THOSE games.
I'm sure you're one of them.

He umm... said not a word about anything relating to dupes...
The game is just bad and with 0 replay value, even after your first class. Too linear, shit story, nothing unpredictable. I have 100 hours played on my barb and I'm done. Mostly agree with OP.
So since we are always comparing D3 to D2, how was D2 not linear and unpredictible with a AMAZING story right? It changed EVERY time with EVERY class the interactions were so different it amazed me! [/sarcasm]
Go play your old Diablos then, they are worse than this but if you love them so much, go play them. Also it's "The reason I'm mad", unless you have schizophrenia. Because you're only talking for yourself.

Judging from own experience and making assumptions, that's a good way to get into an argument!
Oh wait... it isn't, just like how you did not describe WHY you don't like aspects of the game in your OP.
You seem to assume that everyone shares your opinion, well here's a newsflash: We don't! We all have our own ones. They can be influenced, but only by reason and arguments, not just because 'you said so'.
$60 for 100 hours is pretty good. Your entertainment dollar is 833% more efficient than going to a theater or buying a video game with a 12 hour single player campaign. That being said I'm having fun leveling every character to 60, then I'll progress past Act 1 Inferno.
Most people are in denial about the game. You are so f*****d in the a** by Blizz that you can't take any criticism what so ever about the game you waited SOOOO long for.. Get real people, it's not that great a game if you take into account the amount of development that went into it. It only scored an 88 on Metacritic for instance. And 8.5 on Gamespot.
And reviews aren't subjective at all... riiight.
D3 also got 9.5 on IGN, but you don't care mentioning that. The game IS flawed but it really is not nearly as bad as some people are claiming it to be. It is better than D2 and D1 combined, and is yet to receive it's first major patch.
All the hate is extremely over exaggerated.

"Fear is the mind killer. Fear is the small death that brings total obliteration."
i actually agree with most of what he said. I barely need to add anything or make any arguments except i used to play diablo 2 all day all night 24 hours of the day or whenever i could. finding runes and uniques was difficult but that was the fun part..sitting in the trading room looking at everyone spamming their items and finally seeing something you need..that was the fun part. in diablo 3....blizzard sucked ALL the fun out of this game. i play this shit like 3 times a week LOL. With all the flaws it has it's still a good game though.

Wow, you must know me better than I know myself. You know that not only do I not enjoy it, but I only think I do beause Blizzard has somehow violated my anal privacy.
And referencing Metacritic? Have they washed out all the 0/10's from people who were butthurt that the servers somehow couldn't handle the 3 million people trying to log in all at once?
If you don't like it fine. But don't pretend that we don't just because you can't fathom how someone could possibly disagree with your tiny opinion without being in the thrall of some massive corporation.
I can't wait until people see what happens to this game when the RMAH is out and their gold becomes worthless. The regular AH will be useless and the game will be full on pay to win.
We have no idea how many people like and how many people don't.

I fixed it for you, you stopped using your Royal "We" for a second. Thanks god i'm here for you, your majesty,
