1. The guards I thought of are simple guards. Just people who chain up prisoners. The work of the lowest of the guards.
2. The sound of me hitting the sand was not too loud. Just a thud.
3. My character created a make shift stone ladder down the side of the hole.
4. Well, if you don't want to climb down.. I thought that the force of my spell being cast downward would pushback against my character upwards. Greatly slowing the fall. I o ly had my character land roughly because he was pushed. I supposed everyone could follow suit and use magic to soften the fall. Shields, force pushes, summon air to catch you.

I too wish that magic was a little less... available. It seems to lose all its mystery and power if anyone can just cast a spell whenever they want to with essentially no ill effect. I figured that the energy for the spell would have to come from the caster and, as such, they would be very taxing acts (thereby making them more important and less frequent)...
I don't think it is the amount of magic used that makes it significant or not. In my opinon it is the strength ofthe magic. If you walked around just exploding everybody with magic it is boring. If you use smaller magic more often it makes it a characteristic for them but remains special.

Yeah. That's what I was going to try to go for, Jetrall, but then I basically reasoned that we'd be seeing the same thing, anyway, but with little disclaimers at the end in regards to energy consumption.
If I was just writing a story, I wouldn't have done it like that because it makes magic too much of a science, but it's basically essential for anything like this.
Well, yes, that would be a good idea. The last one, anyway. But unless we can all agree to strictly maintain this and I don't see everyone just typing them away, anyway.. Well, we'll see.
I think I should throw something in so that in order to have a powerful spell the actual enchantment has to be very long, so we don't just have people spewing off enchantments left and right in battles. I'll have to update the mechanic, though. Bleh.
I've never read Eragon. I dislike fads, and it was a fad around here. Maybe in a year or two.
And now that we've had a daring show of perfect acrobatics and tireless perfect magic use, I'm hoping some other people can think of a creative way down without taking the easy way
(Although your diverse approach to the resident guards was interesting, Mentis.)
Another thing to take into consideration is that Mentis cast relatively simple spells, he merely animated a chain to spike into a wall, unlike Tyreon who changed the overall physical and chemical structure of an object.
Dunno why I'm pointing this out, just may be something we should all take into consideration when casting spells, keep complexity in mind and adjust our characters fatigue accordingly.

"One in every 10 million people can potentially have a headache from this pill." God forbid she is the 0.000000001% of having a headache.
It was mainly just the acrobatics that got at me, but that can be attributed to adrenaline to a point, and if he has been using weapons like that for a long time, I'm sure he knows how to use them effectively.
my character did not turn rock into sand, he destroyed the rock turning it into rubble or sand like texture. I don't want people to think that I turned one material into another magically. Tyreon shot a wave of force into the rock. The force of the destruction obliterated the hard rock into a bunch of small pieces or sand-like.

Haha, yeah, seems out of place.
Oh well, as I said earlier, you've got a lot of room for improvement.
And it wasn't so much acrobatics, guess I made it sound pretty badass, but it was basically just him jumping off a cliff (vaulting sounded way cooler), casting spells to drive his chains into the rock, allowing him to grapple down and get a foothold, then pushing off the wall into the guards face.
..... Come to think of it, that does sound quite hardcore :/.
And woops lol, scyberdragon I thought your character literally turned the stone into sand.
edit: Almost forgot, will definitely be waiting to post for a while. Will just chat some shit up with Scyber's character, and then I'll be done.
And actually, we had not chatted at all outside of the RP, Scyber just went with where I took things ^^.

I'll within a couple hours here, but I'll have my character climb down the stones scared. As to not doing any flying flips down. That's what the stone ladder thing is for right?
I removed my stone steps from my post. I was using too much magic and other people were still talking how to get down after I created the stone steps, ignoring or not noticing. You could always cast the yourself.

Well I made the stone with my character. Seth's puny human was a good springboard for my magical use ;). I'm upset that were putting guard's clothes on though, since I took off the set I was wearing.

If anyone can think of something, be my guest.

And yeah, I noted the tireless magic use.
The plan was to note the adrenaline wearing off in my next post, guess I should have notified you of this.
Didn't see to mesh very well tossing it into that post, I tried several ways and none of them seemed to write in very well.
Dunno why I'm pointing this out, just may be something we should all take into consideration when casting spells, keep complexity in mind and adjust our characters fatigue accordingly.

You guys must really be chatting this up or something. Those two last ones... They were entertaining to read
Now would you mind waiting until the others post their input? Might be half a day or so, but we need everyone to get to the bottom, at least.
I'm thinking now that a cautious and inept character might not have been a good choice on my part...
