The President and CEO of Activision Blizzard is going to be Bobby Kotick of Activision.Quote from "Alcovitch" »Blizzard has said many many times before that they hold complete control over what games they make, how those games are made, how long they take to make, what platform they will release them on and when it's considered "done".
Anyone would be a fool to step in and mess with the receipe that Blizzard is working with. Everyone knows that whatever it is that they do behind closed doors, works. It works better then anyone else in the industry. A smart man who buys out Blizzard would say " Good job, keep doing whatever it is that you do!".
But otherwise, yes, I'm sure you're right. -

How could it? The Witch Doctor plays the role the Necromancer did.Quote from "AManWhoLikesHisMetal" »I keep hearing and seeing people alluding to the Necromancer not making a return...
I hope this isn't true, but whatever.
I somehow doubt that any of the current concept art depicts any unannounced playable classes -- only monsters, NPCs, and announced playable classes.Quote from "EvolutionXtinct" »I predict there will be a "cleric" class, one of the artworks shows a guy w/ a blue aura in his left hand w/ a long beard. I think this one will be mentioned next. - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.

I voted 'Too cartoony'.
Colour isn't a concern of mine, nor is gore. There is a reasonable amount of the former and plenty of the latter (in combat, anyway). What I'm concerned about is the World of WarCraft-like cartoon armour, blurry low-resolution textures, smudged-on foliage, and cute little gargoyles. At the moment, the game looks to me like an isometric World of WarCraft plus gore, mostly due to the pauldrontastic armour, low polygon count, and blurry textures. I do mean that as respectfully as possible and only hope for the former to be reconsidered and the latter two to scale upwards to more modern systems/standards.

Anyway, no, the graphics would have to be much better for first-person or over-the-shoulder third-person to be tolerable.

'Not even a beta' doesn't say anything. Art direction is determined early on and not changed once things get rolling unless there is significant pressure from within the team or from the fanbase or public. This is even more true in modern game development. It's not like 1995-1998 when you could go from this in alpha to this at release. Not to mention that these days Blizzard announces their games late in development precisely to avoid showing screenshots of prototype graphics, just videos of gameplay-subject-to-change.
Night time?

Which would, indeed, be of no help.

Fair enough. Not enough to ease my suspicion of Tyrael's motives, but it's nice to know there is an alternative.

Quoting the original lore: So it came to be that there was a great revolution within the Burning Hells known as The Dark Exile. The Lesser Evils overthrew the Three Prime Evils and banished their spirit forms to the mortal realm. The demons Belial (the Lord of Lies) and Azmodan (the Lord of Sin) fought to claim rulership of Hell during the absence of the Three Brothers.
I have long thought that Tyrael has been lying, as per Belial.
TYRAEL: Rip out those stones I had the Horadrim trap the Prime Evils in aeons ago and smash them at Hellforge.
HERO: But won't that--
TYRAEL: Go. Smashy smashy.
<Smashing ensues.>
TYRAEL: Thanks. Now excuse me while I shatter the Worldstone.
HERO: But won't that--
TYRAEL: Baal corrupted it.
HERO: What does that even mean?
TYRAEL: Shoo, mortal. The Archangel needs to smash.
I'd prefer to like Tyrael, so someone please fill me in if I'm missing something about the soulstone business. This is just how it seems to me.

By the way, did I miss the poll, or is it closed to me because I have been such an inactive member?
