jamievalero posted a message on THUD got hacked?!Posted in: Diablo III General DiscussionAs long as Blizzard prefers a bare UI, there is always going to be a demand from players for THUD, or features that THUD has. Even though there has been improvements in the UI since the recent patches, these improvements are pretty much half-hearted. To date, there is no easy way to look into one's inventory and see which are ancients, and which are not. There is also no way to see if an item is cubed unless you mouseover each item, and stare at a shaded small dot beside the orange legendary affix of that item. The buff bar still does not give cooldown numbers of skills, just this analog timer that can be seen at the top of edge of the skill bar (in this age of digital information, why go analog?). And to date, the location of my buffs in the buff bar still changes too much that I cannot keep track of the buffs that I really care about -- I just want my COE or F/R buffs in a single location, not changing all the time, darn it.
I can live without the stupid map hack, which I turn off because of my ethics on that issue -- but the other features of THUD are QoL changes that are must-haves, frequently requested in PTR, and only SLOWLY adapted in a half-assed sort of way. I would not be surprised if the reason the changes to the buff and skill bar and item tooltips happened PRIMARILY because players like me demanded them so that we don't have to use THUD for them.
I say if Blizzard cannot incorporate these QoL changes into the UI, addons should be allowed on Diablo 3 in a controlled manner, and endorsed on a case to case basis. I want to play rifts and GRs, not stash and inventory tetris half the time.

Bagstone posted a message on What are the benefits of Season 6.?Posted in: Diablo III General DiscussionThere are no benefits besides the ones you mentioned. If that's not enough for you, play non-season after getting the stash.
The main reason why people enjoy season is the fresh start. If that doesn't work for you and you need additional incentives, then non-season is exactly what you want to do.

Raevynwillow posted a message on stats switch based on class?Posted in: Diablo III General Discussionprobably been brought up before but wouldn't it be awesome if stats were more universal. In wow you have gear that switches from 1 main stat to another based on your spec.
In d3, i find it kinda annoying that if i main a WD for example its good synergy with my wizard, and the int follower, but that same gear is kinda useless for any str or dex wearers.
Yes i know the game is based on finding gear on the toon you are playing, and yes i am aware you can enchant 1 stat for another, and can even just log on a str toon and re-roll it to str. But this seems a workaround, when all they would have to do is do like wow has it, and when you put on that shield on your templar it turns int into str, and vice versa.
wow and d3 have so many features these days that are borrowed from each other, many argue that it is to much as is, but i think this minor annoyance if fixed would make quality of life for gear that much better.
And yeah again i can go farm another shield if i want str on my crusader, but there are some pretty rare items, so if i happen to get something on my wd, that my crusader needs, and now its int. This is how the game works, and is intended, and it would make the gear grind less, which this game is all about the gear grind.
so some will argue that it shortens farming time which shortens lifespan of game, but the pros is that you dont have to sacrifice mainstat for enchanting it, and not have to farm multiples of the same items
For example, templar needs freeze of deflection, i have 2 of them on my wd, both int, i'd like to use it on my templar, but unless i enchant or re-roll it, which is what currently i have to do. Then i go to my wizard and she uses Templar, so I'd have to do it again...and again.
If the shield simply switched from int to str when i plop it on my templar, problem solved, done. Gear swapping, holding onto multiple copies of items, with different mainstats, taking up precious space will be done.
Even if they just added a simple way to push a button or added a new recipe for cube to 'switch mainstat to mainstat" (int to str) i'd be ok with that, if they feel its trivial to just auto switch it, they could make a way to do it, outside of enchanting/re-rolling the item on another toon.
again its a minor annoyance, but one that i feel strongly about and hope someday they will address it, or come up withing something better.

StarliteLemming posted a message on Printable Checklist for Kanai's Cube, and other toolsPosted in: Diablo III General DiscussionIf you're finding it hard to keep track of which items are in Kanai's Cube, particularly between classes or between season and non-season, have I got the tool for you: a printable checklist for all items in Kanai's Cube (recently updated for patch 2.4.1).
Find it at my Diablo 3 Reference Material page
You'll also find a Town Camper guide for the Sprinter achievement (likely to return next season), which allows even the slowest character to act as Town Camper (and makes mistakes much less likely). No need to print the intro; jump straight to the quest-by-quest table.
There's a Time Record table for Sprinter, including rough quest-by-quest timings.
And there's a Keyboard Layout record table (for when the Powers destroy your custom key bindings). I've included both default key bindings and my own favoured set-up -- definitely reduces finger stress.
If you'd like to help out with suggestions, corrections, or data gathering for bigger projects, please follow the contact links. I'd love to hear from you. I didn't get a lot of traction on the official Diablo forums, but I figure DiabloFans are likely to be more discerning.
Enjoy!

I'm struggling with Solo at the moment. Ive done the 3 gems to 65, but I reckon the next easiest one to do solo will be a 75 GRIFT. Any other ideas for solo?
Depending on your class the cursed chest conquest is really easy. Act 5, Cursed Peat Bounty,Paths of the Drowned. I didnt do it solo myself 3 multishot demon hunters and 1 chakram demon hunter. We hit 468 killed. Worth a shot.

philosophios posted a message on [2.4.1] Full list of Demon Hunter Builds and Guides by PhilosPosted in: Demon Hunter: The Dreadlandscheckout the summary video in the OP, I generalize the strength of each build in that video, roughly it's (LoN>UE>M6>S6>N6) with the difference between all of them being very slight, except LoN is ahead by quite a bit.
Thanks for the nice build overview
I've been considering going DH for season 6. One thing that puts me off is the end game LoN build. It brings too many memories of the very boring LoN crusader bombard build.
Is there any chance any other DH setup will be competetive or is LoN definitively the only end game build?
Thanks in advance
LoN will be the Rank 1 Setup, but the DH sets are balanced enough you can get top 20+ with other builds
yes all the builds work fine on HC and SC (except the shimizu version of LoN)
yea for sure, but I have to wait for Dfans to update their database with the new patch, usually this happens along side the patch on live servers, but this time it's taking them a bit longer should be updated before season start... hopefullyQuote from oldschool_2o4f»
Are these going to be updated as I see taeguk in many and that's shifting to channeling skills pretty much?

Also, and I openly admit i've skipped ALOT of the preceding 2 pages, it seems like there's a faction that's essentially saying more choices is bad? I mean, one of those choices is don't use the dang things.
I sincerely hope they do add some interesting things that CHANGE the mechanics of some stuff. I liek that they get stronger as you go, I also hope with everything in me, they don't get stronger just sitting in your stash. Also hope the improvement is steady and predictable, otherwise when you level up that gem that was doing great things for you is now unrecognizable and doesn't fit your build anymore ( highly unlikely BUT...).
Also, have they come out and said that they aren't adding a slot for the socket? I mean, probably won't but maybe they will, and all that choice/decision/sacrifice/hand wringing will be wasted....
Wouldn't it be cool if all the jewelry out there gained a socket and lost nothing.( cept what about all the stuff already WITH a socket).
What if Legendary Gems didn't require a socket at all, they just simply are added to the jewelry? You know, a little pixelated glue here and done).
My biggest thing is it's all a big WHAT IF at this point. Why so worked up over essentially pixelated nothingness right now?
Fear of the unknown? Fear of change? Both very viable forces in humanity. Both quite negative and stressful I might add.
Relax, it'll all work out, it'll all become clear, and if it stinks it all up, they can patch it. It's a game. Have fun.

So yes, I guess you might see it that way.
I see complaining about something not even received yet that is still unknown at this point in time.

But also realize sometimes that last three points on CHD ISN'T that important, 97% is pretty good.
I guess the ugly word in the room is BUDGET. I will walk up to the enchanter, look at the piece, yeah it's better than what I have, but it's NOT the FINAL piece." I'm gona roll for it 5 times". If it doesn't happen, I walk away. At the very least, I put it away and try again later, and SOMETIMES I get better before I get to reroll later anyway.
People, be responsible with your imaginary pixel type currency/materials...:P
That is all.
Oh and jeez, pick up your stuff, no one's gonna do it for you.
Okay, that is all.
Really.
No, really.

Sad commentary ON the issue is, it's easier NOT to use it. I know that doesn't fix it but it speaks to the problem, and the lack of hope that the problem will be corrected, and even further, the options volunteered here ( always appreciated) speak as well to the complexity of trying to please everyone and cover all possible wants/needs while addressing the ever present "trolls" which are usually only an issue in the aforementioned "public" games.
While it doesn't fix the system, if you don't use it, it doesn't much matter, and many have done simply that, it's just easier.
