posted a message on So we must play seasons to gain more Stash space?
    Quote from Sky115»

    Boo hoo.

They have given a way to get stash tabs, it requires you to complete a task. It's too bad that it's a task you don't want to do.

I want hellfire amulets but I don't like searching for keywardens, is that a sound argument that they should make keywardens always be standing right at the waypoint?

Just play a seasonal character and do what you need to get the stash space, then stop playing season if you hate it so much. When the season ends, any xp and items gained will be given to your non-season people.

To be honest, Keywardens can be farmed for everyone. If you don't play season but still want to play the game because it is awesome then you'll probably not want to play something which you don't want to play. I'm playing HC Season, imagine if I had to level a SC, gain paragon 250 and clear a T10 rift. It would be stupid and I would just feel as if the time spent in SC would've been better spent in HC where I actually play.

The problem isn't if it is a challenge or not, it is that you've to do something other then progress on your own "side of the board". None season could just have a quest where they had to do the same things as a season or be able to buy it after this season for a absurd amount of gold and be limited to one purchase per season. That way they can still play the game on their "side".

@rumors: don't you forget that people can use math. It's not so hard to calculate the dmg output of a skill, if you know how the multipliers of that equip works. Sure, there might be weird stuff people will find out, like SC monk (which should have never worked like that in the first place).
@high paragon: it's to show experience. I'd rather have someone with high paragon than someone with low paragon, even if the low paragon players equip is a bit better. Why? Because I know that the high paragon player knows how to play efficiently. He knows when to fight and when to move on. Most random players don't know this and this is basically the only thing that differentiates a 5 minute grift farmgroup from a 8 minute grift farmgroup.
@dashing strike: people wanted that one combo because it enabled more than 55-60. 55-60 is babyplay in group right now. I did 60 solo and I did 70 in a group. And we didn't even try to push it. Dashing Strike is a good build, but it has little group synergy. Same with wizard. They can push solo pretty high, but their group synergy is low.
My post were a bit sarcastic and I also said "There's a lot of factors to keep in mind". Of course higher para should mean more experience. That combo sure is better, ain't saying it isn't. I'm saying that it ain't the "only viable" group for 55-60. Also, when I did this it were in the beginning of the season, when were at around para 500-600.

I only meant that if something is true for endgame, many people believe it to be the only truth about midgame as well even though it isn't the case. It might be better, it might be easier to play etc but it isn't necessary. I'm not talking about the top. Obviously you've to use the best thing up there, I'm talking about the level most people are playing.

Yes, one ancient is better than this set but

    - Can't use F&R

    - Can't be obtained as easily as 6p set, prolly will need to be farmed for days, will make ppl to play bounties again

    - Can't maintain 100% akhan uptime

    - Can't fuel some abillities (due to lack of resource)

6p sets are easy to obtain, don't leave you a lot of room for creativity (new akhan and IK are the only ones that promote many builds), and simplify your rotation/build.

As other ppl said, most 6p sets iteration are what made d3 so boring, every1 using same set will use same skills, proc items like schafaer are obsolete also, as the massive % dmg increase from most sets only apply to skills, not items (Again, Akhan and IK are excptions).

Though F&R would be wrecked by another ancient, or have I misunderstood how the damage is calculated? With Zodiac and CDR I think it is possible to make something which doesn't lack resources.
    Quote from Shapookya»

people will ALWAYS use the same builds because there will always be guides for builds which outperform other builds. Don't fool yourself to think that the game will have such a high diversity with the next patch. Some skills will just be buffed way more than other skills and then everybody will just run around with those.

The difference is just simply that you can now use every skill and build around it so that you can play on T10 with it. But in GRifts, there will be huge differences.

Take GRifts out of the game and 2.4 is basically Diablo2. Highest difficulty is so low that you can play whatever you like when you have the powerful items.

And don't you dare forget rumours! If someone famous say X is good or best, when it's in fact equal to a lot of other things. A lot of people will go with what the famous one say, simply because that is more proof then trying things your self.

Take paragons, people ask for ridiculously high paras to do simple stuff just because it is believed that those paragons are needed for a faster run etc. If I can oneshot things in t10 with 100 paragon then I wouldn't oneshot more, or faster just because I have 1000 paragon but people think it is needed. Just as WoW are infected with item level. Pugs might ask for almost higher item level than the look you get from killing a boss gives. It will not matter what you have or how skilled you are if that is your teams mindset.

I mean, I've ran a dashing build which did completely okay damage in gr55-60 with my friends and we cleared things in about half of the time. I would mostly not be welcome into pick-up groups with that build though. Sup Barb, Heal monk, SWK and HotA or gtfo, even if it's not needed.

There's a lot of factor to keep in mind but you get the idea :)

This "none-set" seems very OP and very fun but couldn't a diminishing return work? 800% from the first ancient, 700% for the second, 600% for the forth etc.

I were happy when I read about the reworked Akkhan:

    • Armor of Akkhan
      • (2) Set Bonus
        • Reduce the cost of all abilities by 50% while Akarat's Champion is active
      • (4) Set Bonus
        • Reduce the cooldown of Akarat's Champion by 50%
      • (6) Set Bonus
        • While Akarat's Champion is active, you deal 450% increased damage

meaning I could build a crusader with whatever setup I wanted. One ancient is better than that set though.

Thanks shafqin but if you check d3maxstats right corner you see:

Proc Rates are outdated (based on Patch 2.0.6)

So I don't know if they're reliable or not :/

    @astec91x:

If SoH have 100% PC and whatever skill you spam have 75% PC then you would have 25% chance not to proc SoH and with something ticking as much as say living lightning then it might look as if it triggers all the time. Could that be the case? Every time SoH proc it should also proc SC (if SoH proc deals dmg to something with SC that is), no?

Probably a 6 piece set? Seems a bit odd if it would be a 7 piece since that opens so many combinations compared to 6 piece. I don't know though, just speculating!

Great idea! Gotta test how stalg, SoK etc act, will be a bit annoying with SC having so short duration but hey, one gotta work to be paid! :)

Thanks a lot for clearing some things up and giving me an idea of how PC works, TrueColdkil! Also, #RenewedHopeForMyBuild !

I see, nice to know, thanks!

So we've basically very little information to work with?

    Quote from TrueColdkil»

Basically, every skill in the game has an internal proc coefficient that nees to be considered for calculating the effective proc chance of legendary and other specific affixes (like LoH in old patches for example).

Which to me, sounds as if legendary affixes don't have a PC? Since it would be kinda strange for a basic attack to first use its PC to determine if an item will proc then use the items PC to determine if Static Charge proc. Also I assume Static Charge can't proc other things. Endless circle of procs!

I'm still not done with SW:C though! With every crit I'll spawn a cyclone, dealing damage to things wherever the cyclone goes, which is much like Wizard's Shock Pulse: Living Lightning. Would that "cyclone" proc Static Charge? Or I suppose it counts as a passive thing since it spawns from crits instead of me "physically" casting it (as with Living Lightning).

Very useful information nonetheless, even though I'm super disappointed since it more or less broke my build :P

So i guess Sets remain for the true fans of the sets, and others will mostly play non-set builds and take over the GR sector.

    GR sector = 1 - 60 in 4 groups, since heal monk is b`bye :))

Why would heal monk be gone? It's only nerfed and I'm sure you'll be able to combine some wicked comp with four players which buffs the group. Also, new items and buffed legendary powers. My guess would be at least this seasons GR levels.
On my U6 monk I have 1,2 billion toughness in groups, the heal monk sure is nice but I don't really need it. I'm sure we will adjust and wreck the GR levels still :)

Hello there helpful individual! How nice of you to drop by! Let's get down to business.

I'm playing around with a build revolving around monk and their static generator build. This is for 2.4 and while doing this I realized how little I know of basic... Diablo 3 maths(?) and other "invisible" things like "proc coefficient" for instance.

In my case I would love to use Sweeping Wind with Cyclone rune to proc Fist of Thunder: Static Charge. Though it seems SW doesn't have a PC, is that correct? If so, anyone know the reasoning behind why SW and other similar ability's lack PC?

Then it is items. Do items like Fulminator proc Static Charge with its legendary power?

Also, do anyone happen to be sitting on a up-to-date spread cheat over each ability's PC?

How do things like Eff. Toxin work with this set? 2000% weapon damage over 10 sec. How does it increase? If you have an ancient weapon with 2k-3k damage will the DoT do 40k-60k times the set damage increase in damage over 10 sec? Why would it be very powerful, Goriki?

I'm very hyped for this set! Made a "true" static monk for it :D No idea if it is awesome or not. Keep in mind that I play HC, therefore the build is aimed for that.

Mostly done for fun but, you know, could be fun to play :P

EDIT: Aaaaaaaaand of cause I'm only using 2.3 items because none of the others are out but you get the idea!
