Maybe 'entering public games with people that use transmog devalues his gear in his eyes'

Oh great now you will get him going.... again.

Back to topic I am all for super glow awesome visual effects for completed sets. As for extra glowing per piece I thinks that’s overdoing it, you would just get a mish mash of so many colours it would probably look awful. Unless you’re playing on a 70 inch screen I doubt you could even notice each individual piece properly.

It would bring an element of challenge, everything looking like a terd not knowing what it is, suddenly I'm one shotted realizing that small terd was a key warden!

Provide a link of the post you started. It's hard to believe you and only you realized how bad itemization was in this game... you must be some kind of superior form of life.

Don't play with players, then you won't get offended with your... twisted logic. You are the first person I've ever seen complain about transmogrify in this aspect. The only legitimate reason that it could create an issue is in competitive PvP and you’re trying to figure out what you’re up against. TBH I don't even pay attention to what other people look like I'm too busy killing stuff.

At least you're giving me a laugh, not many posts going on in the fourms right now and I need to kill thirty more minutes.

It's not that I can't tell when someone is wearing something, it's that someone can have something else and look like they are wearing something else. To me that's not fair. Monsters cannot look like another monster because they are unique. Okay?

Game breaking indeed, the only time I'd think this would be "unfair" is if I was in PvP and a guy in farmer clothing and a pitchfork was kicking my ass. Please explain how someone who at one point had x item and made y item look like x item ruin your game play? Are you mad when a Wizard in Barb gear is killing things faster than you and you nerd rage wondering WTF??? Troll harder please.

No worries :) You entitled to your ideas and can freely state them. I just like to be a dick sometimes, this place is my source of entertainment when I'm bored at work. You are at least trying to make a topic and address something your passionate about, I don't because I'm lazy and it's easier to pick at other people's work other than my own.

I think fixing these properly will be a decent overhaul when it almost seems that these abilities should just be removed since they actually take away more choices then what they create.

I'm just saying it's impossible to verify how much income is saved by DRM. I am well aware of the many possibilities piracy can be viewed. I had to write a paper on it in my Information Systems class. Long story short I was in favour of pirating :P

Meh, the effectiveness of DRM is dubious at best. When studies that study ( :P) this matter count "X pirated copies" as "Y lost revenue"....I don't think there's anything left to say about the accuracy of said studies.

Some savings is better than none, but I agree it's impossible to quantify the actual savings. In many cases with pirating people didn't have the disposable income to purchase the game in the first place.

Well I'll just leave it as this. Based on itirnitii's well-articulated post I agree with him… The issue is modifying any of these into non slot passives, short durations, or entirely changing the abilities requires a lot of time and balancing. Considering this game has a lot of issues on hand I don't think taking additional time delaying RoS is ideal for Blizzard or any Diablo fan. Redesigning 14ish abilities is a significant amount, I say this would be better for a future patch.

If you were really serious about you need to build an argument and explain every little detail to get popularity. This eventually leads to Blizzard paying attention as it has happened to a couple of members from this site. What I see is you basically said “I want to push more buttons” here is my 30-60 minute worth of effort to address the issue. I think itirnitii explain the problem better in about ¼ the amount of words, now you need to figure out how to redesign 14 abilities and make them appealing enough to use but not overshadow other classes or other abilities.

Anyways I’ma stop being a troll now and piss on someone else’s thread ;)

Does my point A) change really make this any worse of a game or does it in fact point out the obvious flaw with the skills being in the active skill slot to being with?

If it's really that much of an issue they should remove all these from the game or add these abilties as standard passives that don't take up slots, e.g. 30% damage reduction being monk/barb.

The whole reason why I'm usally bitter about these threads is the are such a small issue in the big picture. I remember when threads were being started because people where upset over the WD resource being called mana and not mojo... give me a break.

Very long description of abilities that do not have anything to do with active passives.

Rend does crit but it doesn't proc crit based abilities, make sense? I know about thrive on chaos, I just wanted to point out that even if you run out on your timer WoTB should have lasted long enough to no longer be on cool down and a simple recast when you run into elite packs is more than enough if you didn't manage your fury properly. I didn't fix my response quick enough but basically everything we talked about was pointless because all these are active abilities and not active passives.

    Quote from Vessot

You say Blizzard has trained you, but one argument I'd like to hear your thoughts on is how one of Blizzards games, WoW, took the Paladins Might and Wisdom buff from 5mins, to 30mins, then an hour,EDIT: sorry, seals used to be separate buffs, but now they at least don't have timers; they've made other changes to classes that used to have to baby sit refreshing class buffs.
Clearly they can change, so why must Diablo 3 stay in the 5min Paladin refresh stage?

Different game different mechanics, battles can last for 20 minutes, in diablo battles last less than 1 minute. Refreshing buffs in a WoW rotation makes 0 sense.

    Quote from Vessot

It has happened because goodness forbid I'm giving attention to things more interesting then being paranoid of when to refresh the skill. I wont lie that I would often get in the pattern of refreshing before and after combat...but each time it annoyed me as to why I had to do just that. The skill has no meaning if not toggled on...so why have it there if even in the rarest of possibilities it can drop off un-noticed and then become a truly worthless skill by definition.

It’s still a resource management, you need to pay attention to keep your buffs up, and there is some skill involved albeit basically none. If your buffs drop off in combat and you die because of it you didn’t manage abilities properly.

    Quote from Vessot

I'm not following. So, you...don't want another skill option to add to rotation? I can't tell if you'd rather than have less for you to press or more.

More buttons to push isn’t ideal in ARPG (at least for me). I’m fine with a 3 button rotation and keeping extra abilities for situational circumstances, it becomes very clunky to press 6 buttons all the time… I’d feel I was a monkey slamming down on a bunch of keys pretending to play a piano (CMWW anyone).

    Quote from Vessot

So, you think...this change would take a month to implement? Really? I mean no, you never said that so, how long do you honestly think a change like this would take? Is it asking no more then a fix for a minor bug in the game? It may be a simple bug that only affects 1% of the players, and goes unnoticed...but it still got done. This change may not be noticed or as wildly demanded, but it's so subtle that how could it possibly derail them from other refinements of the game?

Considering they can’t even add a chat feature, cut out many other promised features, and have a lot of core issues with the game yah I’d say they can’t implement it anytime soon. Are you actually software programmer for video games? Do you know how long it would take to add said feature, test it out and make sure it didn’t bug anything in the current program? Are you willing to do this for free, because it seems that D3 has some very finite resources, e.g. look how long it took to add an ID all feature and that’s even more simplistic that what you’re asking.

    Quote from itirnitii

This thread is a repeat. I personally think active skills should all have an active element to them. Say no to passive skills on the active skill bar! My one contribution is to give Storm Armor a "static" effect from Diablo 2, where white monsters within a radius get their health halved when you cast it and also add a cooldown.

This is the best suggestion I've seen. The ability becomes functional, but not frequent enough to be spammed in a rotation, if anything it might be a starter but thats it.

It is also an anti cheat measure.

I'm well aware of the "benefits" of DRM, but all in all the main reason why it was created and used it reduce lost sales. I don't care how you slice it or say how good it is for player protection it is a tool that protects their investment anything else is secondary and used for PR fluff. Believe me I love the fact that there is no to little duping anymore. The main point is you can still cheat in D3, however you need to purchase a copy of the game to play and every time you get caught you need to purchase another copy.

Honestly I don't care about DRM, gone are the days of LAN, that’s what consoles are for now.

My main is a Barbarian but my two alts are Monk and Witch Doctor.

Witch Doctor. Going into combat you fire off whichever skills you have traited of; locusts, hex, confusion, totem, soul harvest .. hold down circle/plague of bats, repeat for next mob. If you're traiting 0dog then you have to be a little bit more active. During a battle you might need to recast Hex, and if you're lucky to get enough health globes to recast your totem. Definitely one of the easier classes for upkeep.

The highest upkeep on a Monk is remembering to spam your mantra for the additional buffs they provide. Otherwise it's just skills.

I'm not sure about Wizard and Demon Hunter.

With my Barbarian I'm constantly making sure that I have the +24% damage buff from Bash - Punish (which doesn't even show up on my buff bar), paying attention to see if I need to recast Rend in case Rend did not crit, making sure that I always have my crit buff from Overpower, constantly watching and babying the timer on WotB for perma wrath in the form of Fury management which can include dumping Fury. I also need to watch my Sprint timer so that I recast that efficiently so that I am both maintaining Sprint but at the same time not waste spamming Sprint.

In comparing my Monk and Witch Doctor to my Barbarian I find that my Barbarian has much more skill management.

However, I don't mind one bit and enjoy it that way. I would never want Blizzard to dumb the game down even further than it already is.

They could however put the Bash - Punish buff on the buff bar (this same bug exists for Deadly Reach - Forsight on the Monk).

EDIT, ignore my incorrect rant; however all the things you listed are not active passives. They are abilities with cool-downs and resource management. The only thing barbs have is shouts.

E cigarettes, what are your thoughts? Overall they are much better option than cigarettes; however is there any byproduct still in the "vapor smoke". Since it is not a tobacco product do you think its okay that these products are okay to target to kids or teens with flavors such as gummy bears or chocolate?
