posted a message on Drop rates on the new gems?
Does anyone have any idea of the new drop rates? I sold all my gems, without considering the fact that if I want to level a crusader first some high level gems would have served me well. So, I will probably farm some gems with my main and then pass them on. I would assume the drop rate will be quite low though.

posted a message on So who is playing hooky on Tuesday?
I've cancelled my boxing until Wednesday so I can experience launch day server delays. I have to negotiate some play time with my wife as she hates me locking myself away for hours on end :( Also, I'm a teacher so no chance of days off mid-term. But, then again, I'm an adult, I've come to "accept" that free time is not an endless commodity like it was in childhood.

posted a message on Any point in farming before RoS other than Paragon?
I've been boosting my paragon level to a respectable level. I always felt shame when I was a low level playing with some very high level people. It's like when you're grinding on Torment 3 and some level 10 barb joins with terrible gear, everyone just sighs and you have to carry them. Also, it's definitely more fun now.

I may be mistaken, but didn't Diablo 2 ladder players just run Mephisto ad infinitum. The Ladder seemed pretty popular there. The problem is always those that want to find a way to break the mechanics, but if they want to remove potential enjoyment from the game, then they're welcome to it.
Only time you ran meph was before you had the gear for baal.

Also, D2 had 50%+ map hackers, rune dupes, constant exploits of leveling (rushing to skip acts to get up to hell faster, cow runs, baal runs, bugging uber tristram), and botting like crazy. You have no clue what you are talking about Finder.
I meant to say Baal. But yeah, D2 was exploit city.

Hi, this clan looks like my kind of thing, I'm a soon to be parent with a few hours a day that I can get online. I pretty much only play D3. I live in Korea though which is GMT+8, but I'm sure I could give some people with irregular hours a game. I'll look you up when I get home from work.

posted a message on Over 4000 strength why is DPS so low?
I did some switching around. I'm still not too happy and will keep trying to up crit, but I found a Stone of Jordan a few days and nearly gave it away because I thought it was useless. Now I have 35% increased physical damage and 55% damage against elites, would this be more viable than going for more crit? I haven't tested yet, I believe the SOD may be pretty good, but again I'm not sure.

you dont need auction house get used to working without it otherwise gonna have hard time in the game craft some items like gloves your doesnt have crit chance
My gloves have 6% crit chance. I was more swayed by almost 500 Strength and Vit. I got so many high mainstat roles I just got a bit equip happy.

I've been using Skorn for a long time with 180% crit damage, but the Thunderfury is cool so I felt like a change.

Thanks for the replies guys it makes more sense, I'm going to look into changing some things around. I got carried away with the new legendaries, I'm going to have a look on the auction house.

posted a message on Over 4000 strength why is DPS so low?
So I have pretty high strength which equates to over 4000% increased damage, my attack speed is 1.85 I believe and my weapons are over 1000dps so why is my actual dps not adding up? I realise this is probably obvious to some of you, but I'm a bit of a noob when it comes to Diablo's stats.

For some reason it wasn't showing crit chance yesterday, I now realise this is probably the reason, but that still doesn't explain the 4000% business.

posted a message on So do people here actually like the game?
I went through a bit of a dry spell, but have recently reignited my love by playing hardcore for the first time. The fresh start was awesome, with no gold or items. I got my DH straight through to lvl60 playing solo and I'm currently on act 2 Inferno, it's so much more interesting than SC. After playing a lot of SC, the lack of progression was getting a bit dull. I feel that a ladder system would solve most of my issues as now I can just gear any SC character to the point where there the game is no challenge and the loot is inevitably bad. I'm super excited for ROS, I feel the AH was a horrible idea and it ruined the enjoyment of finding loot. All the loot you find up to lvl60 is completely useless because of the AH, after lvl60 the chances of finding something decent are horrifically low and can be easily matched with 2 minutes work on the AH. Playing self-found is an option but imposing limitations on yourself to enjoy the game doesn't say good things for the games design. I am aware that it is incredibly difficult to balance all these things so I am being very patient, in expectation of a great final game.

Honestly all of your gear looks barely better than a brimstone. It's hard to give any gear advice without a budget.

Thanks for taking the time to respond.

I did a bit of crafting and got some decent upgrades (money is an issue at the moment), especially in resistances which was a big problem. Lost a bit of damage, but my survivability increased massively.

I haven't played for a while, but I'm getting back into it and I feel I may have some glaringly bad items that could be easily upgraded. Any help or suggestions would be much appretiated.

posted a message on Interview with Alkaizer
Enjoyment levels start to drop after about 4 hours for me with Diablo. When a game is new and I have some spare time, I can go quite a lot longer, but regularly spending 14 hours plus on a game is a bit sad. I love gaming, but when it gets to that level there are definitely more rewarding things to dedicate your time to.

I know people enjoy it, but I don't believe thhey are buzzing after 10 hours, it just becomes mindless and a way of wasting time.

The achievement is impressive none the less.
