You guys shouldn't ask to be mods. Just nominate.
Moderating is a difficult and time consuming job - not something you want to rush in. If you truly are deserving, someone else will notice and nominate you. Moderators should have experience and know how to deal with flame wars and treat members with respect.
Most of the forumers I've seen who ask to be mods are power-hungry. But a good moderator is forumer first, moderator second - meaning a regular forumer who steps into to mod when necessary but is not "trigger happy" or someone who will flaunt his or her new authority.
I voted maybe, and mainly that because I do not really know what would be expected of a moderator at this time. There should definately be some form of official rules compiled first (probably by Umaro), and some extra defense at registration to prevent bots from posting.
Agreed, what the heck are mods supposed to do on this forum anyway is very confusing.
i think there should be more than one mod added, but thats probably not a good idea. also, you dont get things if you dont ask for them, and i think i can prove myself to be a good mod for this site. if i had to pick another, darkjay would be my choice because hes also done alot to organize and is a well respected member of this community. when it comes to mods, i think the more dedicated members should be one, not someone that posts every now and then. else nothing would get done.

I believe that Phrozen gets my vote. He has the maturity, experience, and activity of a mod.

Yeh, we really do need more mods. Elfen doesn't seem to be too active lately xD
you have no idea........
well, enough current mod bashing, what would be good traits in a mod and why? i think with answering this question we will be able to find who we need.

im here everyday, but i mostly work with the general stuff, deleting/moving threads to where they should be, merging posts when people could have just used the edit button.
i dont work with flam-athons, and heated debates much, they are really my forte, thats more of a PhrozenDragon thing i think.

There seems to be some public support for me, so I'll answer and tell you where I stand.
If you had asked me three months earlier, I would have accepted, but right now I'm not here enough. As has been pointed out, a mod needs to be active, and a lot at that. I don't think I could do that at this time, because just as I suspected, my time spent on forums fell drastically when I got home.

What exacly do you mean by original? Creative?
PlugY for Diablo II allows you to reset skills and stats, transfer items between characters in singleplayer, obtain all ladder runewords and do all Uberquests while offline. It is the only way to do all of the above. Please use it.

It doesn't matter how perfect you are for the job. I believe that asking to be a moderator is rude, and I'd prefer it not to be done in here. If you need to ask to be a mod, do so in a private message to an existing authority figure. This thread is for nominating others. (This rule also extends to explaining why you should be a mod).
Now that that's over, I'd like to whole-heartedly agree with Pepsidude's list of moderator requirements. (Perhaps you'd like to explain some of your criteria though, just in case some of them are a little vague).

definitely. And there should be more rules about posting. Its getting out of control with irrelevant things in every post and spamming.
