Lol i see ppl complaining about the fact they've spent 3-4 k shards for a set item and still didn't drop. I'm sitting now at 35 k + shards spent only on shoulders , to get the Pauldrons of Akkhan for my gay crusader.I m about to fuckin delete the character lol.So Fuck the "RNG" gods deep and hard....
GL with drops
PS:I got 10 Burdens of the invoker and countless homing pads and other shit...what a joke
What's your point? Because you can't gamble a particular item, you think the system is flawed?
This game would be shit if I could count on gambling a particular end-game item. I wouldn't even play. Gheed would've owned your ass, cuz that was one stingy motherfucker.
Too bad to hear that RNGesus haven't blessed you with the item you want. I know how frustrating it is!
I belive the drop chanses are greater than on gambling. Personally, I see Kadala as more of a complement, not as a store where I buy stuff. For me the game is about enjoying killing monsters with my friends and having fun. Hopefully getting that elusive Wand of Woh one day (today please!).

That is exactly how gambling should be viewed. People have gotten so rotten now with D3, that they forget gambling is supposed to be a VERY slim off-chance at great items. IMO....Kadala should have a slim-to-none chance to drop end-game items.
Well, i've spent plenty of shards (several thousands at least) on both 1-handers and shields and never seen Gyrfalcon/Darklight or Hellskull shield from Kadala. But the other day in rift i've got 2(!!!) Gyrfalcons in just 2 seconds and the next day i've got that Hellskull. Yet to see Akarat's awakening and my sabatons. So Kadala is really some extra chance of getting items, no more - no less. You shouldn't bet on her. Btw, all good drops i've got from rifts were from T1-T3.
This game would be shit if I could count on gambling a particular end-game item. I wouldn't even play. Gheed would've owned your ass, cuz that was one stingy motherfucker.
But you can, at least from my experience. Usually between 3-5k Shards, sometimes 10k. Never gambled longer for a set item or T&T / Harringtons.
That's.......a lot IMO, and you still have no guarantee whatsoever of getting a targeted item. I wouldn't call those kind of numbers easily manageable in a short amount of time. 10 thousand shards takes many many hours to earn.
Holy crap. There's no nice way to say that, so I'll be very upfront... that thread is a huge pile of bullshit. Computers aren't truly random, but the "pseudo randomness" is only of relevance for large amounts of data (and no, looting 1000 legendaries is not a large amount of data).
Even if you play 10000 hours - what you experience will be true randomness. Here's a link to a thread that actually makes sense:
Please for the love of Diablo stop pretending that the "computers aren't truly random" lesson any programmer learns in his first semester has anything to do with Diablo un-randomness. It just makes it obvious that someone read up about "pseudo randomness" without understanding it.
Not that thread again... I believe that blizzard has said a milion times that loot is generated in game when a game decides to give you a legendary. They have said that there are no loot tables, and besides, that theory you just linked fell apart when a guy looted 9 different legendary amulets in a single game session (session lasted 40 hours). Seemed interesting to me as well until that happened, and this guy (the theory creator) claims that you can loot 1-5 different legendaries per slot (meaning he wouldn't have been able to loot more than 5 different amulets in a single session, yet he did that exactly)
On a second note, I don't believe all what alleged "software engineers and programmers" throw my way (that thing written in blue was something an alleged engineer said, can be true, might not be true). Anyone can be anything on the internet and try to get people on their side.
From my general knowledge, computers have advanced so much technologically that I find it extremely hard to believe that they are unable to process 200ish legendary items.
Even if loot tables do exist ( HIGHLY unlikely), you can easily reset your game every 5 rifts, 500 shards, and hope that the next game / loot table you load (if you believe in that) will drop an item you look for within next 5 rifts, 500 shards.
Farming level 34 T6 (like guy in the link suggests) to "expose" your loot table would be extremely ineffective, and bears another problem, exposing the item you want late, running out of rift keystone fragments and therefor not being able to farm anymore blood shards to "gamble" the item that you are aiming for.

but in order to get a specific item you're looking for you need to have the luck to be in the 'Right" game wich has that specific loot table generated.
That's a myth, you realize that, right?
It always amazes me how fast people accept rumor as fact just because they see people making such claims.
A Blue came right out and called this a myth, in so many words. But, then the thick headed proclaim deception and lies. Does it make ANY sense to you that Blizzard would lie about how items in a game drop? .....any sense at all? Does this make them more money? Does it increase their player base, their profits? Of course not.
People/corporations lie for one reason and one reason only. Because they would have something to gain from the lie. If there's nothing to gain, then it's safe to assume they aren't lying about this.
I don't understand what video is trying to prove??
Items In horadic caches are not pregenerated. If you farm your caches on your witch doc or wizard, and open them on your barb you will get str items. If you open caches on a monk you will get dex items. This has been expained by blizz too not long ago aswell
My point exactly, yet people keep on claiming that there are pre determined loot tables. This guy farmed the caches on his WD and opened them on his DH, meaning if there were pre determined loot tables (even in caches, like some people suggest), he would've rolled int items and WD gear.
Anyway, enough from me, read all kind of loot table theories far too much, loot table on game creation, loot table on character creation (and people actually make multiple characters to try to get a certain item) that I'm growing tired of it.
RNG is RNG, will stay RNG, some people are very lucky, some are extremely unlucky, that's life, get over it, keep on hunting the items you want, that's the thrill of the game!
You were here for the "loot servers" stuff. You know how stupid the average player is.
People swore up and down the street that they could get better loot from better IP addresses. Swore. Even though everyone knew it was the most preposterous idea ever.
If you ignore the "whole picture" it's really easy to see patterns in smaller portions of the data and wrongly conclude that there are "clusters" where there really aren't. The human mind is very easily tricked into believing this stuff.
Glad you fixed that link, Bagstone. It's a good sensible thread. p.s. I also really liked his linked one about the Auction House. Obviously only of historical interest now, but I would have loved to have had that link on hand to direct people to back in the AH days.
I had the worst luck. 20,000 shards on Wizard orbs and 10 mirroball +1's. Then last weekend I got 2 shards of hate, thunderfury, wand of woh, high dmg near perfect mirrorball +2, 2 stones of jordan with good stats and now I just rape all fire with woh or anything else

Pants dropped from trashmob
Went to kadala,
after 10 shards, got gloves (trifec)
switched to boots: spend 25 shards, got them. (bad roll)
got the full set bonus in about 10 minutes
