I'm new to the forums here but I have been using this site very very often over the past 6 months or so. I am planning on buying a new computer very soon....waiting for the new Ivy Bridge i7 processors and Kepler chips from Nvidia. My problem is I'm not sure when those parts will become available for purchase. Since I absolutely must have D3 as soon as it launches, I want to know if my current Pc wil be able to at least run the game if I have to wait a week or two before my new PC is built. My current pc has:
I was able to run WoW and SC2 at reasonable settings way back when I played both those games. Does anyone have experience with Diablo 3 with something close to these specs? Thanks, I appreciate the help.

You'll be able to run it but probably on low. Here's the SR.

If you think that you can play with 5 fps, then yes
Thanks for the reply. I'm actually thinking of just getting the Nvidia GTX 570 instead of waiting for the 670/670 Ti. Is anyone running a 570 in the beta? How does it perform? Can you play at max settings without lag? Thanks.
UPDATE:
I have been playing the public beta with my 6600gt and crappy computer and to my surprise, it actually runs! I have to play on extremely low resolution, 1024x768, and with everything on the lowest possible settings. I also get bouts of lag when engaging a big mob group, but its enough to get me through the beta relatively OK.
At this point, i'm thinking a 570 is WAYYYYYY overkill. I will probably save myself 100$ and go for a 560...i have no doubt a 560 will max this game out. Hell, the 560 may even be way overkill.
so, not too sure what all needs to be posted for help, so ill do minimums,
currently using a off the shelf rig with 5gigs ram, windows 7, and a radeon hd 4200 graphics card. im able to run WoW fine on average settings, but ran into problems with old republic and now even more so with the beta for diablo. i would have to open up the casing to see if my card is intergated or not, but what should i be upgrading to?
I's integrated but it's an actual card basically. It should be fine for release day, remember the game isn't optimized yet. Just give it till release see if it's fine then, if it isn't get a cheap upgrade if you got some cash to spare, a good 100 dollar card will get you mid graphics.

I run a GTX 570 and it runs flawless! I was getting 120-130fps constant in the beta. My brother has a 560 and that also runs the game at max settings/details without issue. Runs BF3, Crysis 2 etc all at max settings and details without issue.
The 560 and 570 are both great cards. which ever you get youll be happy with it.
But then again.. D3 is not graphic intensive..
CPU and RAM can also bottleneck the ability of your GPU also.

You know its going to be a good day when you enter a corner sideways.
So I'm really excıted cause I fınally ordered my 27 ınch monıtor and ıt wıll be here just ın tıme for D3. My next upgrade then wıll be to replace my stock CPU fan and fınally overclock my i5. Yihuu!
I posted this in another topic i think was wrong so i will post it here
Hello all i used the can i run it and it says i meet the requirements but i want to play barb and i dont want to get into large packs and have video lag so here are my specs keep in mind this is a laptop
I7 2.0
2x's gtx285m sli
6 gig ram
i run at 30-35 fps in Rift, and at times i have fps drops to the teens and it gets choppy this is why i play ranged classes I know its a older system and have a desktop just want to stay away from upgrading if i can
I have recently been offered a computer from a friend who recently purchased a pretty nice lap top.
AMD PHENOM II x4 910
8gb mem
H-RS880-uATX (aloe) motherboard
HD: 1TB sata
power supply: 300w
Vid card: geforce 9800t
The Processor seems to come out well within the furbench mark guide given in the "can I run it" thread.
My main question is; am I interpreting this scale right?
Also, I know the vid card is so-so but how bad is it? Will I be compelled to get a new one? Amazing graphics aren't incredibly important to me... However, I would like to avoid any sort of performance lag in intensive moments, if that makes sense.
Also, if the vid card is not so great (it qualifies as medium) am I going to be spending 200-250? or are generally good vid cards for diablo III still available in the 80-150 range.

Congrats on your processor man. And dont worry too much about the vıdeo card you can just replace ıt when you start notıcıng ıts lımıtatıons.
Is the emphasis on processors or video cards for D3?
Anyone have any insight to my above post?
Hey there, thats that difficult question. I personally believe that Blizzard put a pretty equal spread of performance between CPU and GPU, maybe more on the CPU, since gpu performances (between different levels and generations) vary on a much greater scale than cpus.
Your CPU should be no problem, and your video card will also do the job (medium)
The 9800gt is almost identical to the 8800gt in terms of performance (but runs cooler and more efficient). However, you have to realize that gamespot test was done in town with little or no action. You should expect your fps to drop if you are actually playing, so that is why I say a medium should be fine.
If you are looking for more in D3, in terms of performance and also eye candies (AA and etc). A 100 dollar video card should be fine. You can probably find older cards like 460 gtx at 130 (It's better than 550ti), and 6770 around 80. Newer cards around that price point would probably be a 7750. You won't see any low end 600 series cards from Nvidia for a little while though.
I would suggest to try it out with your current 9800gt, and then decide how much of a performance boost you want. I mean the game is coming out in a few hours right?
