Mephisto's Lament posted a message on "Islam is not a religion"There are many problems and issues, I think, with this entire thing. For instance, the West tends to relate Islam with being Arab, when the majority of Muslims don't even live, or come from the Middle East. They associate Islam with hate towards women, indoctrination, violence, and intolerance, when women are greatly respected, indoctrination only happens in about 2 countries, violence is uniform in all human beings, and intolerance is not exclusive to any one religion. The most annoying thing that I ever encounter, is people associating human ill-behavior with their religion. If a Christian man decapitated my mother, I would not go all out and say "Christianity condones this! Christianity is the religion of hate, violence, and is of the devil!". That person is bad, it has nothing to do with his religion being bad, good, or whatever. That's what people always get wrong. Anyone can put a towel over his head, hang a banner that says "Allahu Akbar" in Arabic, have 4 dumbasses with AK 47's standing next to him while he reads verses of the Quran (As if he knows shit of its message), then proceed to decapitate a person "in the name of Allah". Any single person can do that. Why on Earth do they blame an entire religion, and judge every single person who follows it, because of the actions of a person denounced by almost every Muslim and every Muslim nation, I don't understand. It's easy to follow the herd, and to simply hate, but to actually understand something and think for yourself is rather hard, and I think people would rather do the not-so-hard thing. There was an article on Cracked about Islam..the comments were atrocious..I was surprisingly shocked to see that level of ignorance. Oh well.Posted in: General Discussion (non-Diablo) -

Solux posted a message on Prophecies and Science of a Golden AgeSo I couldn't sleep and I saw this around 2ish am....well for one I have recently been reading up on all sorts of topics ranging from the new world order and conspiracy theories, and with an interest in the coming 2012 I decided to watch it with an open mind.Posted in: General Discussion (non-Diablo)
Let me start with I watched all four of them and even continued and watch some other of his videos as well as checked out his website. I have to say that it's astonishingly intriguing with a mix of so much information that one can be easily overwhelmed, but I got a firm grasp on it all and retained a great deal of the information. It's now 9am and I am still up haha. I am getting tired but I just wanted to post before I go to bed while the information is still hot. I have always believed in a "higher" entity but also remained not so religious.... I always preferred facts and scientific stats over beliefs, I love how David is basically the medium of the two and ties in both.
I feel like my open mind and my train of thought to always question everything and my constant curiosity to always keep learning new things allowed me to really soak this up. I am not saying this is true and that you should believe in it, however to discredit and throw it aside would be in my opinion, narrow minded and fullish. Some of the hard facts that he throws out are just amazing, I found the part where experiments on the duck and chicken, as well as the lizard and frog were just amazing. The possibilities are just idk insane to think about but yet amazing. The first thing I thought of was playing spore hahaha, if you have played the game and watched the full videos then you should see where I am getting at.
I liked how things like ley lines and the magnetic fields/energy as well as the 12 spots including the infamous bermuda triangle were explained into detail, as well as crop circles. All the things that are "mysterious" by nature all kind of seem to come together into one huge tip of the iceberg theory.
I probably could go on and on with all sorts of things, best bet is if your curious or just simply bored is to watch them with an open mind and to think "this way or that way isn't the absolute right way"
It's almost too hard to believe, but yet there's so many things out there in front of us, that basically this man and others are trying to piece together and explain.
I was reading stuff from his sight and ventured onto a nice piece on this tv series called "The Event".. just watched the first episode and will finish watching them. -

I like this idea. Doesn't have to become confusing or overwhelming.. It could work with a "tab" system like the skill trees in D2.Quote from Jamoose
Good job Scyber!
I think there should be like the ladder of all times, then a monthly, weekly and daily ladders.
Example:
Tabs: [Today] [This Month] [All-Time]
1.
2.
3.
...
20.
I think it could make things really interesting like trying to be the top rank just for today or just work your way to the top of the month/all-time. It also gives a lot of reward/achievement possibilities.
Also, one thing i definitely hope for is pvp tournaments ala SC2, DoTa, HoN, Wc3 etc possibly with cash prizes. -

italofoca posted a message on Lara Croft And The Guardian Of LightI"ve got this game at release. It's a really good game in DL game's standarts.Posted in: Other Games
The game have great production values and the puzzles are fun. The COOP is an great feature too.
The combat have it's good points (like the claymore mines), but in general it's very repetitive.. Monsters do not have any special attack patterns and in the end 90% of the action situations is just dogde+shoot+dogde.
The story is crap and the item system is terrible.
7/10 GOOD (my mean is 5. Avarage games have 5 scores). -

Oh yes. You make a lot of sense.Quote from BoredSilly
I'm very concerned about this move. Multi platform games usually turn out to be a disaster on the PC. Case in point was final fantasy IV, which had a control system that was both sluggish and difficult to navigate on the PC. They will be forced to make concessions and design changes to incorporate consoles which will simply do nothing for me except degrade the final product. Stupid decision by greedy corporate types who I'm guessing know nothing about gaming.
