Every time I feel my excitement for this game begin to waver, I pull up some vids and get excited all over again. I have decided to start a thread where I will post up a gameplay video of D3 for us all to watch every so often and then we will comment on what in the video we are excited about.
First video: The first half of the original gameplay trailer.

The first thing that gets me is the music. It really sets the mood for the video and the game. I also love the addition of the skill bar. I am glad I can spam multiple spells easier. The next is the speed of the game. I love that it is still waves of hundreds of guys with a combination of enemies that require thought and strategy. The environment is also very good. It is funny to see how much different it looks from D2 while maintaining the same game design.

I have the high quality version and sometimes I imagine I was actually playing the game by full screening it and mimicking the action in game with my mouse and keyboard *sigh*
I actually do not like the skill bar. I hope I can remove it in the preferences as well as most of the display(HUD), but the health/Resource globes and the current skill. I will know what skills I will have on quick skill button so no need for me to display them.
I did like the look and feel of the dungeon and that monsters came crawling over walls.
From little information on that clip it looks like the monster densities are higher than in D2 and it may approach the density of some D2 mods I play or have played in the past. The higher density may kill of the use of single target skills except for as a boss killer.

On Strike and supporting Fallout 4 Mod Makers
Some fallout 4 mod makers have had their mods stolen and uploaded and downloaded on Bethesda's site for the Xbox One.
Honestly, the music and general aesthetic really get me; I know the color controversey blah blah blah but I actually think the game even in this early video displays a very admirable aesthetic richness and depth, particularly in the 2nd half with the WD in the outdoor areas. I final iteration is going to be a thing to behold.
Also very glad to see an attention to scale--i.e., the Siege Breaker boss actually feeling / looking big.
HAving to use strategie to kill monsters instead of sitting there drooling clicking the mouse 238493 times to win

Initially what gets me excited is that this game oozes with the feeling that it was created by Blizzard and that it's obviously the Diablo franchise. This impression comes off from the first second of footage. Then after all the obvious things that other people have listed I would say the fact they seem that have improved so vastly on the most boring part of the game. Replaying through old environments. It looks as if this is improved by the more action packed gameplay style and the addition of random events. It does not seem very easy to get bored with your Barb flying around squashing shit (unlike in Diablo 2 where your barb's only "cool" ability is whirlwind and that skills isn't acquired until level 30) and going on new adventures that you haven't done yet even though it's your ten millionth time playing through.

"Today a young man on acid realized that all matter is merely energy condensed to a slow vibration. That we are all one consciousness experiencing itself subjectively. There is no such thing as death, life is only a dream, and we are the imagination of ourselves. Here's Tom with the weather."

I think the game will be balanced in this aspect. For example, just after the barbarian destroy the ghouls, he face those fat zombies and they come in low numbers (3~4), so in this case single targets will be useful.
Abou the videos, this is, by far, my fav one. The way the abrarian use strategy is awesome (like when he blocks the path by freezing a enemey, avoiding been attacked by 2 sides).
I'm just looking forward to playing with the barbarian. They really turned him into a solid class. Watching him kill those demons with what I presume are gemmed weapons is awesome. It immediately took me back to my first playthrough of Diablo 2 which I did as the barbarian.
As it was pointed out I like the music. It feels really intense/creepy/medieval/gothic/everything is lost abandon all hope kinda vibe that really suits the game.
I also like how there is alot more enemies to send back to hell, and that you will need to use a little more tactics then in D2 to attack them.
The male/female versions of characters is also nice. I always refused to play any female char before so this time around i'll get to play all the classes. (I know it's not in the curent video but we all know it's there...)
What i don't like tho is the magical effects on the weapons. While the ice and lightning on the 2 small pick and axe looks good, the flames coming out of that hammer really pisses me off. And of course, those damn shoulder armor pieces are way off :/
The screen shaking everytime somethings happens is also getting old quick.
To finish on a good note, I like the way it seems to feel when you hit something, like you are actually bashing something and not just going throught it like if it was air.
I wish that the element effects on weapons weren't so flashy. I think it makes weapons more unrealistic. And even though I know that Diablo games are unrealistic in the first place, I just think the element effects are a little much.
Why would you keep yourself as excited as possible? Thats like torture.
But it makes the release that much greater.
THATS WHAT SHE SAID!!!BAM!!!!

these effects are only there for the highest quality enchantments of the items, so when it begins there will most likely be no glow at all and even later on, there will be different effects, depending on what bonuses the items have. i dont expect a +attack speed weapon to glow with a fiery glow
we'll have to wait a bit more and see what we'll get. this footage is pretty old too now, i bet there's lots more now.
we really didnt get any news from Diablo 3 in a while. not many screenshots, almost no videos, nothing more about the story. Blizzcon better give us more!

agreed 100%. The Diablo 2 way was way better with the tabs. That spot should be for the belt! Heal yeah the environment is amazing and I like the abilities how they can be used for deadly combos! Idk if they have stole any ideas from wow but if they do ill be so disappointed. I hate wow with a passion.
