I get the frustration, but it is also awesome when you get 3 upgrades at 60%. So much of D3 is RNG I think this fits. It could be improved, but for me it is low on the list of things for them to dedicate time to.

BDF2000 posted a message on 9B crits with delseres AO - group viable?Posted in: Wizard: The Ancient RepositoriesOther than shoulders and paragon you're missing out on attack speed or other dps rolls for each of those slots.
Hydra requires no such sacrifice, it uses up every bit of attack speed you can throw at it and turns it into damage....including the IAS from group buffs. That is one among many reasons of why it is our top build....we don't have to manage resources to use it and can instead max out on damage.

Nyaldee posted a message on Tal's Wiz question or twoPosted in: Wizard: The Ancient RepositoriesFor the build you're playing (looks like Jaetch melee build) unity is the best choice indeed.
Also you're missing focus and restraint combo that amps dmg by a lot so the poster above is completly wrong - it may be hard to pass grift 40 +- dps check in your current gear.
Few things to note:
1. Diamon in your helm gives you close to zero benefits - your only cd skill is teleport and it's cd is supposed to be reseted with dmg through illusionist, since you're taking dmg anyway to proc Halo or Arlyse.
2. Parthan defeners have no crit roll and that's a major dps loss.
3. Esoteric alteration is better then gizzard for this build since it allow you to facetank nasty ground effects much better.
4. Electocute dmg on belt is irrelevant since it servers 2 purposes: stacking dynamo and procing Tal. Dmg comes from meteors and hydras, not from electrocute.
So replacing gem in helm and rerolling belt will add you some durability, Then it's the matter of double unity, better serpent sparker and parthan defenders. Build is pretty consistend and fun, but don't exept to facetank 50+ rifts becouse ppls who do so have extremly good gear,

rated posted a message on "Smart Drop" Is falling apartPosted in: Diablo III General DiscussionAm I the only one not bothered by stuff like this ?
I've played d2 for so long and I'm so accustomed to this happening on a regular basis. I even enjoyed such a thing to happen cause it usually inspired me to play a new class an build.
Funny how things change.

Thornagol posted a message on 10 Things I Love About D3Posted in: Diablo III General DiscussionI saw a thread about 10 things wrong with D3 and someone asked why no one list 10 things that they love about D3. I took them up on that offer and I challenge the rest of the community to contribute their items to this thread.
1. The Story. I think that the story of D3 ties in very well with the lore of the franchise. I'm excited to see how they continue to grow the series over the next expansion.
2. No talent trees. I know that some people will argue about this, but I like the fact that I can get a new set of gear on one character and not have to level up another character to experience a different playstyle. Honestly, if I had to do that, I would only have one or two characters, not one of each class.
3. The challenge of the monster affix. I like the diversity in the skills that they give to elites. I would hope that they expand these options and improve upon some of the existing affixes to have them apply more to the post-RoS environment.
4. The followers. Sure, the followers were too chatty in the beginning and that made them annoying, but I like the fact that they actually have a back story. They aren't just some sort of mindless mercenary/zealot following you while you slaughter the hordes of hell.
5. Covetous Shen. I think this is a brilliant character and I really think that there is something going on here. I feel like he is a figure that will surprise us in a future expansion/installment. (Could he be someone much more powerful in disguise?)
6. Kadala. I think she is utterly evil for a couple reasons and I love it. First, she is the "physical" embodiment of RNG and is a place for me to take my anger out on bad rolls and gambling losses. Second, I have a theory that she is collecting these shards to bring Diablo back. As we destroy the most powerful demons, we collect their blood shards and exchange them for more powerful items to kill more powerful demons and collect more blood shards. It's a compounding scheme that allows for her to get to end game without having to put forth effort.
7. The environments. I really like the way that the design team has brought in different architectures, layouts (open field vs dungeon, etc.), and widgets, such as traps. I think they can continue to expand upon the traps concept and make them something to consider when playing through the level.
8. Adventure mode. I liked playing through the story in Vanilla, but I got sick of it after a couple of times. Adventure mode gives me the ability to decide on what I would like to focus on instead of Alkaizer runs for hours on end.
9. Greater Rifts. These are fantastic. Sure, they still have some ways to improve, but I think that tying these to different incentives (leg gems and blood shards) and allowing them to grow with your power as it increases is a very good mechanic for keeping them challenging.
and finally...
10. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE that sound the game makes when you crunch a bunch of skeletons or zombies with a good barb charge, frozen orb, cluster arrow, etc.
What do you all love about D3?

Yavyred posted a message on Now we know who the cheaters are (rollbacks)!Posted in: Diablo III General DiscussionAnd to think about it... those examples, the top players, with or without exploits, they will be ahead of u anyway
the problem is the dozens clans with their whole populations, thats hundreds of ppl doing the exploit for couple days nonstop
the average joe is the one who makes your characters suck by comparison to the generality of ppl who exploited
and they had what, lets say 40.000 bloodshards to spam on 1h weps to find that ancient serpent sparker
there u go

Posted in: Wizard: The Ancient RepositoriesThe sc builds already offers a lot of mitigation. With those as base builds there are several things you can do. The least damage suffering would probably be to:
Get ancient parthan defenders. Things that proc these are e.g. blizzard -> frozen solid, teleport -> calamity, ice armor + halo of arlyse ring (frost nova procs). Throw in a double unity follower cannot die setup and you're pretty much invincible.
Combine this with 6pc tal's and 2pc firebirds + unstable anomally passive for two cheat death passives. You'd have to be either reckless, stupid or both to die with this setup in T6. The defensive gems are also viable options for increasing toughness although they will make you suffer damage wise.
Delsere's is another option, but imo it would make you suffer damage wise, and you'll get trouble choosing which skills to use. Blizzard and teleport + halo of arlyse offers more than enough cc so the bubbles would only get in the way on your skillbar. I think I'd rather go with a full delsere's build rather than combining it with tal's. Both builds offers great DPS with their 6pc bonuses.

Also, and I openly admit i've skipped ALOT of the preceding 2 pages, it seems like there's a faction that's essentially saying more choices is bad? I mean, one of those choices is don't use the dang things.
I sincerely hope they do add some interesting things that CHANGE the mechanics of some stuff. I liek that they get stronger as you go, I also hope with everything in me, they don't get stronger just sitting in your stash. Also hope the improvement is steady and predictable, otherwise when you level up that gem that was doing great things for you is now unrecognizable and doesn't fit your build anymore ( highly unlikely BUT...).
Also, have they come out and said that they aren't adding a slot for the socket? I mean, probably won't but maybe they will, and all that choice/decision/sacrifice/hand wringing will be wasted....
Wouldn't it be cool if all the jewelry out there gained a socket and lost nothing.( cept what about all the stuff already WITH a socket).
What if Legendary Gems didn't require a socket at all, they just simply are added to the jewelry? You know, a little pixelated glue here and done).
My biggest thing is it's all a big WHAT IF at this point. Why so worked up over essentially pixelated nothingness right now?
Fear of the unknown? Fear of change? Both very viable forces in humanity. Both quite negative and stressful I might add.
Relax, it'll all work out, it'll all become clear, and if it stinks it all up, they can patch it. It's a game. Have fun.

So yes, I guess you might see it that way.
I see complaining about something not even received yet that is still unknown at this point in time.

But also realize sometimes that last three points on CHD ISN'T that important, 97% is pretty good.
I guess the ugly word in the room is BUDGET. I will walk up to the enchanter, look at the piece, yeah it's better than what I have, but it's NOT the FINAL piece." I'm gona roll for it 5 times". If it doesn't happen, I walk away. At the very least, I put it away and try again later, and SOMETIMES I get better before I get to reroll later anyway.
People, be responsible with your imaginary pixel type currency/materials...:P
That is all.
Oh and jeez, pick up your stuff, no one's gonna do it for you.
Okay, that is all.
Really.
No, really.

Sad commentary ON the issue is, it's easier NOT to use it. I know that doesn't fix it but it speaks to the problem, and the lack of hope that the problem will be corrected, and even further, the options volunteered here ( always appreciated) speak as well to the complexity of trying to please everyone and cover all possible wants/needs while addressing the ever present "trolls" which are usually only an issue in the aforementioned "public" games.
While it doesn't fix the system, if you don't use it, it doesn't much matter, and many have done simply that, it's just easier.
