So yea we lose a bit senseless customization like having a wizard wield a maul twice his size (in the real world it would be like putting a medic with a rocket launcher in the front line, kinda wierd huh) but on the other hand as bashiok has said they will put the effort of senseless customization and direct it towards more skills , skill rune effects, so basically adding a lot more meaningful depth to each individual class. I prefer that idea over being able to use a freakin 2 handed pillar as an archer. I hope i was clear.
I'm sorry, but you just bought his whole silly excuse which is nothing but a joke to make you think exactly that "I prefer that over this".
His excuses makes no technical sense.
I don't disagree entirely with the decisions, I mean the wizard can't use big two-handed stuff, the barbarian can't use wands.. I mean, that kind of things I couldn't care less and won't affect the game much, except those that really love to try anything.
All I'm saying is, Bashiok doesn't deserve any credit for his comment. Sweet, he's talking to the community, but his text is there for nothing. A few lines would be saying the same thing.

Anyway. There have been much discussion about this already, maybe not in this forum though. I doubt sets are coming back. Especially for single player, sets are an absolutely horrible idea, at least in their implementations in D2. Maybe if there was obvious and more guaranteed ways to gain a set. But at the same time, this is Diablo, we want some randomness. So this is a tricky thing.
The thought of having special kind of items, a new type that is much more customizable, is not a bad one. I have no idea what they really will be coming up with, though.

Lets just compare Diablo 2's system with this one directly.
So, you assign Fireball to the right mouse button. Now, you aim with your mouse, and click the right mouse button to shoot...
The system in D3 is exactly the same, except that instead of only having the mouse buttons, you can assign them to numbers.
In the same situation, you can assign Fireball to 1, aim with your mouse, and press 1 to shoot.
The result and your accuracy are exactly the same. The only difference is that you can use your assigned skills directly, instead of switching to them before you can use them.

Your ignorance is not better than anyone else in this topic.

Yes, thats because WoW includes a targeting system, which is something Diablo doesn't have. Some skills target automatically as well, so you just tap it and you attack the closest target.
The way Diablo works is very different, but the system still works. I think Titan Quest worked like that.

All other systems I heard above wouldn't really be improvement, since they require multiple clicks and would just be an annoying, unneeded change.
I'm not confirming anything from Blizzard, but I really don't see it being any different, especially considering the system WoW is using, and how it would work just as well with Diablo.

I thought Arcane was just pure magic. So instead of saying "magic damage", its Arcane.

If I want to cast a spell in D2, I have to select it (and remember it, annoying when you start using new binds, or if you didn't play for a while) and then click.
I can say that this, against simply taping a number on your keyboard once to activate an ability.. what is better?
The main and most important difference is that your abilities are more immediately available, and I can say for sure that it feels far, far more natural to just tap the number to execute an action, than taping to SELECT it and then use it.
In my opinion, this is an amazing change.

And if we go the logical way, if the color depends on how hot the lightning is, then we could assume that when you are more powerful, its hotter, and so the color would change accordingly.
So the lightning would always be white, but the outline would be purple first, then as you gain level it gets more blue, then green, then yellow.. orange.. and end up red.
...they should just include customizable lightning color ^.^

http://www.enotes.com/science-fact-finder/weather-climate/what-color-lightning
Blue lightning within a cloud indicates the presence of hail.
Red lightning within a cloud indicates the presence of rain.
Yellow or orange lightning occurs when there is a large concentration of dust in the air.
White lightning is a sign of low humidity (amount of moisture in the air). White is the color of lightning that most often ignites forest fires.
http://wiki.answers.com/Q/What_are_all_the_colors_of_lightning
Lightning comes in every color of the rainbow(Red, Yellow, Green, Cyan, Blue, and Violet, to name a few). It's almost always white, but often it's tinged with another color around the edges. The three most common colors(aside from white) are electric blue, electric yellow, and "Voltage Violet." The color of the bolt depends on how hot it is; the hotter the lightning, the closer the color will be to the end of the spectrum. Infared, (red) which is the coolest to ultraviolet (violet), thus hottest.
In any case, I'm pretty damn sure lightning can take on many colors, and unless you want the in-game lightning to change everytime its cast, there is no wrong decision on its color.

You do not know?
Q as in, Quarters, of a year. So Q1=first 3 months, etc.
And yes, the main question here is a bit silly, I'm affraid. Price are almost always the same for a full new game. Prices get lower for "smaller" games, and prices differ with expansions, but Diablo 3 is just that, a full game like all others that will price the same as others.

We don't need to remove other elements just because a person can CHOOSE to get away. If the monsters are letting him, then there is nothing wrong with it.

Seriously, I hate to say it, but just shut the fuck up. You are in absolutely no position at all to judge that in any way. Attacking someone like this about their ways of "parenting" is the absolute most pathetic thing I have seen around.

Oh god, stop it with active block. D2 was also walk and slash, but its obvious to me that they are trying to make D3 way more intersting, and thats not by adding some horrible thing like active blocking, but by making monsters and bosses requires more thoughts and movement to destroy. It shouldn't be possible to kill a boss (at the right level) by just bashing it until its dead. If it is, then the game failed. Active block would be an absolutely horrible element, its like an excuse of an idea to try and make the game more interactive, but it would just be painful and bad. Sorry if that was rude.
On topic, why would a skill you improve become less fun...? Remember we actually have runes now for our spells as well, and improvements may mean much more. Again, I think you have to evolve from D2 a bit in your mind. Your abilities won't just gain.. +damage, + range, +/- mana cost, boring stuff like that... you will be able to add completely new effects to them.
Even skills will add effects. Just look at the Wizard's tree, which I don't really love, but we'll see how this turns out. All I'm saying is, this isn't D2, we are in 2009 and Blizzard evolved as well, and they will give us something much different. Open your mind a bit, see the possibilities, don't just look at D2.
