Well... I really don't know where to start with this game, but to say that this is probably one of the greatest games I've ever played, and anyone who knows me knows that I don't give out compliments that often. Why, you ask? Well let me explain the game.
The game creates an entire world (that's apparently bigger than Earth, but I don't know if I believe that) that's huge. You can be in either snowy conditions or temperate, and the game automatically spawns you there. But what do you do in this world? Well let me start off that you're completely by yourself. And I mean 100%. Besides the pigs and cows, you're pretty much alone in this world to explore. So why is this game fun?
Well this game has pretty bad graphics that make the world made up of blocks. Each block is destructible and can be able to mine that certain material, which is added to your inventory where you can build pretty much anything you want. You can mix stuff to get other stuff (crafting), you can create a power circuit in your house, you can do pretty much whatever you want.
However, the game has a catch. The game has a day and night system, and similarly like in Hyrule field in OoT, and at night, a bunch of monsters spawn and pretty much rape the hell out of you. And I am being 100% serious. The game forces you to create shelters, make your own light, and build off and expand in order for your house to survive. And in all honestly, you will not survive outside. The game made is that way. The only weapons you can make are swords, bows, and traps. However, even those have minimal effect on you, as the sheer number and damage these monsters do is just incredible.

Here is a video that shows the beginning of MineCraft:
It creates a small section of the (your) world, and as you walk, it continues to expand and get bigger, randomly generated as you go. It can and will fill up your hard drive. (as it gets bigger, it, obviously, takes up more space on your hard drive) A tip for monsters, search for their dungeons during the day. You can take out spawns near you to have a less hectic night and thus get things done with more time.
I've been playing for quite a bit now, and Alpha version is actually coming along really well. We've got five or so people playing on a private server and building things in multiplayer is just a blast. I'd say support it if you're having a good time, the preorder price is only 9 euros. (roughly 13 bucks) It's well worth it to support an indie game developer and he's promised free updates over the course of development. (But I wouldn't feel too bad, the guy's almost made a million off it alone.) Every Friday is an update and without fail, things are getting better and better.
As for the graphics, it's sort of a throwback 3D 8bit kind of thing. But the real power is in the texture and skin modding. You can download or create all sorts of skins and textures for your people and blocks. I'm running a Zelda 3 texture pack that makes everything look hella tight.
But he never said he didn't want people to buy it anymore, he said that he wasn't going to obsess and fight over the pirates because most are try-before-buyers and word of mouth could potentially spread faster that way. Like I said, he's made some good flow from this so I wouldn't feel too bad, he's doing well.

This is actually a really interesting game. I remember watching a video of it on Youtube a few weeks ago and wondering where the hell you would get it. So you don't start with a house, interesting. Lol.
Is there another way that we can buy the game aside from paypal? I tried paypal but he is out of country so my bank has issues with that kind of thing. :/
PlugY for Diablo II allows you to reset skills and stats, transfer items between characters in singleplayer, obtain all ladder runewords and do all Uberquests while offline. It is the only way to do all of the above. Please use it.
Supporting big shoulderpads and flashy armor since 2004.
The more you explore, the more enemies will find you. If you pump up the difficulty they can take half your health in one swing, and creeper explosions just downright suck around your stuff.
Our spawn started literally right next to a hollow hill that winds all the way down to lava and some water was already there making us some nice obsidian. Haven't had the time to mine it but I marked it so we'd always know where it was:
Oh yeah, and while I'm running around making wonders of the world, my mates were busy working on a reincarnation of Grunty: It has most of the level areas done and stuff. lol. We made this map when server side inventory got introduced.

No, it doesn't scale.
But they still do a lot of damage, especially the Creepers and Skeletons.
Creepers are suicide bombers and Skeletons fire arrows that are very accurate.
Can you die then? And is all lost?
This does sound really awesome though. I might just give it a shot.

You can die and your inventory will scatter around you, then you respawn where you did when you first booted up the world. You can gain back items but whenever I've died in SP I've always been out in the boonies exploring and then get ran at from behind. You can't really lose the game per say, as it is open ended, but watching all you worked for go off in a creeper explosion can be brutal.

No you don't ever lose. Dying is comparable to Diablo 2, where you ave to pick up your gear.
Wow, this looks really awesome... x.x Website doesn't seem to work for me, though.
Because of the game's development that's going into a beta version (which has not been released yet), you can get it free as the alpha version, which is what I have (and pretty much is the game). PM me so I can provide you with the link.
If you tried it today, then it might be because there was a weekly update and the servers were overloaded to the max. Had to wait forever to download the newest version. :\

Not perfect, and still a bit too silly looking (this is really only about the monster: I really wish they could look a bit better than that...). The combat is limited and there is a lack of variety on that part, though there seems to be more planned.
Of course this is just the Alpha stage. I've had lots of fun with it. Then I removed the snow from the map with the editor. Then the map wouldn't work anymore. And my backup didn't work either for no reason. I was so pissed.
I was surprised to find it a bit laggy at times, especially during nights, on my 3.4 ghz. Its not always and not a big lag, but its noticeable.

UPDATE! Go to this site to download it. Thanks Daemaro, I didn't know about this site: http://www.minecraft.net/
The download is 100% legal, since the creator promotes it. This download is way easier than the way I had to get it.

I play on a NETBOOK and it doesn't lag under those conditions.
