I'll use the gold-AH to buy stuff at first, when I find useful stuff that can speed my first playthrough and sell stuff until there's plenty of gold in the economy.
I'll use the realmoney-AH to sell stuff and get some positive e-balance in order to buy stuff later when I reach a point where getting a specific item can take hours.
I don't think I'll have to spend any real-life money to get the stuff I want as long as I can take advantage of the economy and sell the stuff I find very well (aka make lots of money out of stuff that people really want). -
Jul 15, 2011Zero(pS) posted a message on ALTernate Styles of LootingI'd probably use the default option and see how it feels in the beginning. I mean you can judge whether you want to pick an item up on the fly on those "10 seconds" or so when it appears, and then you can always check it back if you're not sure.Posted in: News
Then again, maybe you just wanna keep fighting for 2 minutes in a row, destroy everything in a room, and then come back and check the loot, that would fit my playstyle too (if it doesn't take too long to do it instead of just go picking stuff up) - maybe then I might switch to "toggle" mode. -

I'm even against the more acceptable option that is "Vanity Items", I wouldn't like to see people with great looking stuff just because they have another 50 bucks in real life to waste looking better than anyone, who gave their blood to gather top tier gear and even dyes for them.
It's all preference though, but I'd like to reinforce a big huge "NO" to anything that affects gameplay. - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.

Although I think I might finish the game with the Wizard first, such awesome spells =P
In Knights of the Old Republic I and II, my main character always wielded just 1 saber two-handed, but boy was it powerful, nobody could hit me and I could hit everyone with the Dexterity bonus.
But on first versions I played as a dual-wielding Sentinel Jedi =)

- There will be different spellcasting animations for different weapons.. You can notice when she's using the Orb (video that begins with a cinematic) that she puts her hands forward and the orb kind of disappears, becoming a mist.. When she is holding a staff (in the other gameplay video where Leoric "summons" 4 columns that spawn zombies), the casting is similar but we can see that she swings the staff to cast spells, and it doens't disappear obviously =D
- Also, she has different spellcasting animations for some spells - Magic Missile (is this the name? purple little ball maybe?) for instance, she casts by doing a dowards animation or horizontal one. Pretty damn cool as well, so we don't get bored of the same animation.
- I noticed when she's wearing a shield that she does so in the same hand she was carrying the orb AND the staff in other parts/videos, and I can't see any weapon. Is it possible that the shield may be used to channel the energy for her spells in Diablo 3? Does she have to "learn" how to wield 2 things at the same time?

And this one assuming that Diablo 3 will have a ladder/rank system apart from the level of the character =) If the rank is determined solely by the level it would be pretty pointless imo.. A character 10 lvls below but with better gear and a proper synergy between skills and gear could be much more powerful..
Now this is a doubt worth being asked in those Blizzcast recordings.. I mean, com'on one guy wasted a question asking: Will buildings and towns be enterable in D3?

Hehehe, jk.. Welcome to the forums..

Ok, I get it.. I should've said that, while I won't miss guilds, if the majority of players feels the need of having this feature on Diablo, then by all means it should be implemented, I just don't see a purpose..
And also, in games like WoW, Warcraft 3, Starcraft, there's an option where "parties fight each other", they actually compete, and since we haven't seen anything like that for Diablo 3 yet, I just don't see the point.. It segregates players by making they think "OMG, my XXX guild is enemy from the YYY guild, so I can't play with guys that have that tag =O
But I still think it's kind of unnecessary unless there's some sort of multiplayer/party competition in Diablo (which by the way I have suggested in a thread that was closed).. I don't need a clan tag in order to have a group of friends.. A nice friends-tool would suffice to me..
Like I said, unless Diablo has some sort of bigger goal I don't see the necessity of having guilds just for the sake of it, if something has no purpose except showing off that I'm part of Guild X, then by all means I won't miss that given feature..
I'm not saying I'm against this feature, no cons here, I'm just don't see any pro as well.. But if you guys like it

At about 1:55 it becomes clear that she's using a Round Shield. Pretty cool if you ask me.

Do you guys think she'll wear plenty of armor, focusing on 1-handed-orbs instead of focusing on staves?
Also, I haven't seen she use the orb to "hit the zombie's heads".. Just use spells, do you think she'll be able to attack only through spells or will she still hit with Physical Weapons?
Do you think the spells will be different if she uses a staff? Would be pretty nice if at least the casting-animation is different when she's wearing different weapons..

It would be nice to have a ladder that's based on PvP tournies, with limitations to how many you could join every month (6 tournies/month, can only join 2 of those), and level limitations as well =D

Also, I'm pretty sure there are many things that are ready, like the Barbarian Rage system, and the two other classes, they are just not showing yet =)

I never got into a guild in those MMORPGs I played, including LotR, WoW and 2Moons..
What's the point of guilds in a small-party game like Diablo? (no sarcasm intended.. just want an objetive answer)

Has anyone talked about this already?
I'd certainly buy an album full of High Definition artwork from Diablo 3 =P

I gave up quite a while ago (couple of years now).. I'm just playing D2 today because of D3 hype and modded (check my sig), and even so it's only fun with friends..
Nowadays I actually try to fiind time to play other titles while D3 doesn't come.. Currently playing the X-Mens: Origins - Wolverine, and man, talk about amazing.. Anyone who enjoyed God of War will have some fun with it, despite the repetitiveness of combat
Also playing BRAID, an amazing puzzle game with a time-bending theme, trying to get the last puzzle pieces on the last 2 worlds.. And playing Left 4 Dead every now and then through Garena (where I can find hosts with good speed - STEAM sucks like hell, only 500 ping)..

And after the outrage that was the "Art Style" and the "Auto-Stats" I doubt they'll ever release anything meaningful like that to us before the release of the game..
Like I said, it's very very very likely the maximum players will be 4, they just won't tell us yet. It could raise to 6 or 8, but the probability, given their (pretty good) arguments, is below 10% in my humble opinion.
EDIT:
PS.: by the way, forgot to say one thing..
as long as there is a good communicating-tool with my friends that doesn't get in the way of the gameplay, and is not slow as hell like Red Alert 3's one, I'm done with Bnet 2.0 features..
Warcraft 3 way of talking to friends is pretty damn bad as well.. The green text gets mixed with the comments from in-game, and there's no "history" of the conversation if you want to read something he said yesterday for instance..

I'd find it really funny to be able to fight colorful unicorns, that get meaner the deeper you go into the dungeon..
It was fun fighting huge Cows holding Polearms! I couldn't stop laughing the first time I saw it =D
