And how about being able to "Announce" a given item?

So that your allies can know before-hand what they might get and what you're willing to give...

Otherwise, I voted yes.. it's a necessary measure if inventory is going to be limited (and specially with bags if they really stay in final version)...

Good be nice for endgame dungeon.

    Like Legend of Zelda?

Yes the idea has been used, but it doesn't hurt to make use of a great idea, like the own developers have been saying about using World of Warcraft concepts!!!

Left 4 Dead uses this same principle, but you have to keep moving WHILE the waves are coming, and the first Downloadable Content is exactly this -> survival mode.

:offtopic: :spam: -> Just Skip This Post.

don't mean to greatly offend, but in the marketing industry, having a lot of random colors of text is bad. You often hear the comment "my eyes are bleeding."
sure, google has the most absurd sign ever, just random colors of text in their logotipe.. also, i'm pretty sure the ceo of a big company would tell his marketing sector "OMFG, my eyes are F**** BLEEDING"...
and i'm not really gonna discuss 5 years of studying marketing and 8 years working in this seara with you..

which implies that they have decided, and they have not.
And you [bknow for sure[/b] they haven't decided because that's what they told us, right? sure..

Like I said, my mistake implying something and causing confusion into everyone's head.. That's why I've CHANGED the mistake, so further readers won't be confused by it.. And I ADMITTED that I was wrong by STATING that I would change ?? If I didn't want others to find out about it, I'd just change..

I still hold firm that your idea has nothing to do with the max player count.
If the player max count is 48, I'd be perfectly happy with it, and probably wouldn't even thought about this idea...

Again, the point of the post is to check feedback on a given idea, if you aren't willing to do that, don't waste your time commenting and "not greatly offending" others ;-)

You're talking about a popular topic that is currently under discussion in another thread. After spending some time around here you'll see that people really try to keep all discussion of a single topic in one thread.
I'm talking about a Competitive Party vs Party solution that gives value to the Single Player focus of Diablo, I don't see it being talked in any other topic. And I've been a lurker of this forum for over a year now, just check the huge amount of threads closed because people have deviated from the original discussion ... you are the one who needs to check your statements before doing them ??

I think town portals would be usable only at check points, regardless of the difficulty!

Nice idea.. I'd play with that..

As long as they fix the drop-system (where dozens of grey-useless items drop, dozens of blue-ones-useless-as-well drop -> and no one ever uses anything other than Yellow and Gold)..

Skype is free, crystal clear, and supports many people per conversation. That's all you need.

I'd rather they not tie up their bandwidth with their own hosted voice communication.

Pretty much sums up my opinion as well..

Although I'd like some form of "Radial Tree Conversation", like basic things "Retreat" - "I'm healing" - "I'm retreating" -> Like there's in Left 4 Dead, just for the basic stuff really -> And voiced by the Character I'd laugh everytime a Barbarian said "Retreat!!!" :D

Meh, old gauntlet is kinda ugly.. I'd rather have a new one, different for every class.. This takes like, what? an hour maximum to draw the hands and do the animations?

It could be as much as a 1% chance to do such attack, since we'll be taking so many attacks throughout the game...

And I don't think it's enough that they have 100 dying animations like they promise, because death is death for all enemies, there's nothing special about it, no matter how cool it might look like (although looking cool is pretty damn cool itself ) ..

Having different attacks would suit my playstyle a lot more..

posted a message on Reserved Player Slots
    Quote from "inspicous" »
Good idea, but with such a low count of players supported I don't see it coming to life. Want friends, use password. Want a -single- friend and two more open slots... Well that's a bit more tricky. Therefore I hail :P

And for the recreating, big no-no. Runs are basically game exploits and unbalanced areas. They shouldn't occur in d3 according to blues' sayings and therefore this entire idea fails. Good d3 balance, imho would force players to go through entire game content and do that kind of runs until the end and finally have enough interesting characters and build to start it all over. No 300 baal runs per night.

Agree with the second part.. :offtopic:

But I like the original poster's idea of reserving slots, it's better than putting passwords so people don't feel intimidated to play with you and your friends, and you're not forced to play with only friends by using the password!

Really nice idea, easy to implement, a must in modern gaming I dare say!

This is a good idea. Running to find the person to heal you is annoying. I don't think it should be instant, but it should definitely regenerate much more quickly over time while in town.

I'm playing D1 right now and I was baffled to find that there is no npc to regen my mana in town. As a sorcerer... this rightly blows!

Improved in D2 where there are regens for both health and mana.

Hopefully perfected in D3 where there are no needed npcs, just park yourself in town for 10 seconds. You're going to be there anyway trading, buying/selling, turning in quests and whatnot.

Pretty much sums up my answer.

It really doesn't matter if they have set up or not the limit... All it matters is a solution to an obvious problem.. -> By the way, read the post thoroughly - I said it wasn't definitive, cause I know Blizzard won't confirm this and have another huge-petition and hundreds of topics complaining about it, but we all know it's very likely they chose 4 or at maximum 6 -> and that IS a problem, from my point of view..

If they set 8 players max, I'll have a problem as well, since I usually play in lan-parties of above 12 guys.. It's just that fun, we play Counter Strike, Battlefield and lots of other games and sometimes there are over 20 guys in my friends house..

I'll edit the post and change the number to "NOT KNOWN", a'ight?
It's not just adding an imput, it's more like checking the reaction to a given suggestion. I havent seem anyone suggest this before, so it's a pretty valid suggestion. The point is checking people's reaction. You didn't like the idea, state it, make some arguments and let the arrows fly =)

posted a message on D3 loot system..
As far as I've understood, there will be separate drops for each team-member, and I won't be able to see what drops for you - nor pick them up, by consequence..

IF you want, you can offer to trade items that interest me, but that wasn't confirmed as far as I know!

I just hope there aren't 100 grey useless items in the ground, 50 blue ones (that most people don't even care checking) and everyone just use yellows/greens/gold.. The drop-system needs a revamping..

posted a message on Solution to the Max Players Issue?!
    Introduction of the Problem

There is a problem right now! Problems only exist to be solved, cause if they're not solved, they'll cause even more problems.

The problem is: right now, Blizzard is planning on a maximum of "NOT KNOWN" playing at the same time - maximum size of a party. This is not definitive but it's very likely to be chosen in the end (specially considering successful games like Left 4 Dead and Blizz's strong arguments).

Now while they have great arguments (the game would be confusing with more players casting spells, etc.), many people are saddened by this, specially the ones with more than three friends that also play Diablo, and the ones who used to play on big parties (10+ people). On to the solution

    Proposed Solution (?)

How about introducing a system that could compare the Progress of each team! As if they were racing! Some counters (kill count, max. exp. gained, number of rares/bosses killed, less health lost, time attack mode), and a synch mechanism between the different servers/rooms (where the 4 guys are playing) is all that would take. And some sort of prize for the winning team (a temporary buff with +200% to magic find, for instance)!

It could even partially solve the Player VS Player issue (we don't know how it works now, but if an idea is good, why not take advantage of it?). It's not anymore about which team the other, but which can perform better in different situations. The system could initiate in a different number of ways (invite/challenge from the other team/players).

It also creates a sense of competition between 2 groups, while keeping the cooperative play in mind.

    Conclusion

For those who've read this far, thanks a lot. ^_^

Notice these are only examples of a solution to a given problem. I'm not sure how people are going to evaluate it, but if there's some approval, someone could post in the official forum and check Bashiok's reaction.

Please, offer some feedback on the idea, and some brainstorming as well.
But, I kindly ask, let's try to keep the spirit of the suggestion in the feedback -> the ones which users like will be integrated to the Topic (with due credit!)!
